In case you missed it, earlier this summer jewelry designer Sabine Ghanem married billionaire financier Joseph Getty in Rome, and this week Vogue took us inside the couple's gorgeous nuptials in Rome.
Ghanem's wedding dress was Schiaparelli Couture, a long-sleeve gown of white duchesse silk that was hand-embroidered with suns of gold sequins. Over it, she wore a long, hooded cape also hand-embroidered with a gold sun, made of 500,000 sequins. According to Vogue, the cape alone had its own seamstress, car, and tailor. Ghanem's shoes, sequined with those same suns, were a custom wedding gift from designer Charlotte Dellal of Charlotte Olympia, and her purse, embroidered with the details from the wedding invitation, was another custom gift, from designer Olympia Le-Tan. Ghanem's party dress was also a Schiaparelli creation, inspired by Cher's 1974 Bob Mackie Met Ball ensemble of ostrich feathers and beads.
