Ballet flats aren't going anywhere anytime soon, but the trendy footwear is being reinvented. While the dainty shoe is often synonymous with flirty, delicate details—like sweet bows, satin fabrics, and cap toes—a cooler, edgier approach is taking center stage.

I'm talking about the studded ballet flats trend, which is already showing up in major European fashion capitols, such as Paris, Copenhagen, London, and Milan. The look delivers the same silhouette as a classic slip-on, but is dusted with silver-plated, micro discs reminiscent of thumbtacks.

This artisanal design first gained traction in 2022, when Alaïa debuted its crystal-embellished Strass Mary Jane. By 2023, the look became a fashion phenomenon, reaching it's peak in 2024. Now, it's taken on a grittier approach, often accompanied by a glove-like fit and decorated with ribbon, ruching, and pull-back tabs.

Swinging away from the clean-girl aesthetic, the studded flats catapult into maximalist dressing. Many labels are opting for a chic onyx-and-gunmetal pairing, though denim blue frames, cloud white hues, and gold-toned hardware make for a head-turning statement. Still they're versatile, effortlessly pairing with relaxed shorts and oversized blazers.

Even Jennifer Lawrence, Dua Lipa, and Katie Holmes are backing the European trend, donning the look with flowy maxi skirt, straight-leg jeans, and linen button-up blouses. So, stay ahead of the curve and slip into the cool-girl flats that will soon be everywhere.

I'm a beauty editor, which means trend-spotting is a very real part of my job. Whether it's predicting the bixie would be the number one short haircut of 2026 (so far, so good) or fully immersing myself in an obsession with mermaid waves, I'm constantly talking about all things hair. This year, the top summer hair trends can be summed up with one word: effortlessness.

It girls are swapping high-maintenance hair colors for easy, blended, natural-looking ones. Whether blonde, brunette, or somewhere in between, these colors require little upkeep and few salon appointments to keep them looking fresh. In fact, the more natural and grown-out they look, the better.

Recently, there's been one natural-looking hair-color trend filling up my IG feed, and I can't lie… I'm highly influenced to embrace it, like, yesterday. I'm talking about "teddy bear bronde." It's a warm, sun-kissed, and caramel-like color that celebs like Hailey Bieber and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have already cosigned. What is teddy bear bronde?

First things first, what is teddy bear bronde? The last word is the key. Bronde is a combo of blonde and brunette. It's a caramel-colored in-between—not exactly light, not exactly dark. "This technique involves creating soft, delicate highlights that are slightly lighter than the natural hair color (no more than two levels lighter)," Revlon R&D salon expert stylists tell me. "The highlights are carefully blended and seamlessly diffused throughout the hair to avoid harsh regrowth lines and ensure a natural-looking transition as the hair grows out."

The aim, they say, is to re-create the natural lightened effect that you'd get from being out in the sun. It's all about "adding brightness, dimension, and movement while preserving the harmony of the base color." The result is sun-kissed, luminous, and sophisticated.

If executed properly by a stylist, "the technique allows the natural regrowth to blend seamlessly, avoiding the traditional root effect and ensuring a soft, gradual transition as the hair grows. This makes the highlights a low-maintenance service, reducing the need for frequent salon visits while maintaining a polished and natural appearance," they tell me. As someone who loves a low-maintenance hair color, I'm sold.

How to Achieve Teddy Bear Bronde

It's one thing to know which color you want; it's another to communicate it to your hairstylist. While inspiration pics are always recommended, the experts have a few tips to ensure you get a true teddy bear bronde. "A clear way to request this service in the salon is to explain that you would like to add brightness and dimension to your hair in a natural-looking way without creating strong contrasts," they explain. "The goal is to achieve subtle highlights that are one to two levels lighter than your base color while maintaining harmony with your hair's natural undertones and reflect."

Depending on your current base color, soft beige and light brown are typically recommended, as they enhance movement and dimension without looking unnatural. "The result is an elegant, luminous, and effortlessly natural look—as though the hair has been gently lightened by the sun over time," they add.

How to Care for Teddy Bear Bronde Hair

Teddy bear bronde is about as low-maintenance as you can get, but that doesn't mean an at-home haircare routine can't extend the stunning, sun-kissed aesthetic. "To further extend the longevity of the result, the stylist may recommend a personalized at-home maintenance routine using color-depositing products such as shampoos, masks, or pigmented serums. These products help preserve the desired tone, reflect, and color balance while maintaining the hair's cosmetic quality, shine, and overall health between salon appointments," the stylists say.

Moisturizing and strand-strengthening products are also key. They enhance the luminous look of the color and keep color-processed hair in check. (I don't know about you, but my hair always feels so weak after a color appointment, and don't even get me started on split ends.) While there are exceptions, for the most part, we've been in a seemingly endless cycle of low-key, subtle shoe trends long after the quiet luxury trend peaked. Of all the sought-after perfumes in an oversaturated market, none have dominated the discourse quite like Dior Sauvage. Since its 2015 launch, it has become the number one fragrance in the entire world—topping both the men's and women's categories—and one bottle is reportedly sold every 30 seconds. There's no denying its acclaim, but that said, it is a rather distinct blend. With vibrant and spicy bergamot, earthy patchouli, and smoky vanilla, the punchy scent has a trail that refuses to go unnoticed. Some people adore this "beast mode" quality, while others would rather opt for something subtle; no matter which camp you side with, though, you can't ignore that Sauvage is a household name.

Evolving the Sauvage family is no easy feat, but legendary perfumer Francis Kurkdjian (the perfume creation director for Dior since 2021), decided to lean into this unrivaled power by creating the strongest version yet: Dior Sauvage Extrait. "What you see trending right now on TikTok or Instagram is the power of perfumes: the longevity, the strength, how much you put on, or how much you don't have to put on," he tells Who What Wear during an exclusive preview. "We're in a very performance-[minded] environment." Essentially, today's fragrance consumer craves something that commands a room—and Sauvage Extrait is here to turn heads.

Sauvage Extrait is the brand's strongest scent—even more powerful than Sauvage Elixir, which, until now, was Dior's most concentrated version. "I'm not sure if we can go up from here," Kurkdjian admits. The composition itself is also much woodier and denser (whereas Elixir leans sweet and spicy) thanks to an extremely rare oud sourced from a certified supplier in Vietnam. Different types of oud have slightly different scent profiles depending on where it's extracted (some lean smooth and sweet, while others are intense and animalic), and the one here in Extrait reads a bit softer with notes of honey and incense.

"I wanted to include oud wood at the heart of Sauvage, as it has never before appeared in its composition or variations," Kurkdjian shares in a release. Combined with other woody notes, like dark Atlas cedar and patchouli, the juice has an unmistakably rich, mysterious quality. However, Kurkdjian decided to contrast that density with pale Virginia cedar (a more "luminous" wood), vetiver, and lavender to add even more sensuality and sophistication. It's still intense, make no mistake, but it's also unexpectedly breezy.

True fragranceheads will also appreciate the Extrait's maturation process, which takes six weeks (42 days, to be exact) to hit its peak performance. During this time, all the raw materials (the woods, oud, vetiver, etc.) mingle until the composition is perfectly, evenly blended. "Have you ever eaten freshly done ratatouille versus [one that's] two days old?" Kurkdjian poses. Just like how the overall flavor improves the more those spices mingle, the perfume's ingredients create a more harmonious scent profile the longer they converge. This maceration period also helps with its longevity, which, as we mentioned, is the most impressive of the entire Sauvage portfolio.

Despite the fact that strong, long-lasting perfumes are super hot right now, there is a slight gamble with amplifying such a powerful scent. See, "beast mode" perfumes already tend to be a bit polarizing; those who love it, well, really love it, but those who already felt a bit iffy might decide to steer clear. According to Kurkdjian, however, that balance gives a fragrance personality, which is exactly what makes a "good" perfume truly great. Scent and emotion are intimately tied, after all, so it makes sense that a powerful fragrance would garner an equally powerful reaction—be it positive or negative.

"It always brings a debate," Kurkdjian says. "This is what makes a perfume successful. You're going to have that paradox." There's arguably no fragrance more debated than Dior Sauvage, but that's precisely what makes it interesting. With the addition of a super-concentrated Extrait, things are about to get a whole lot more captivating.

As someone who is just about to embark on a girls’ holiday to Mallorca later in the month, you can only imagine my delight upon realising that Jennifer Aniston had just touched down on the Balearic Island for a vacation of her own.

If there's one thing I prioritise over anything else when doing my makeup, it's quick and easy products that deliver a natural-looking result. I've found it hard in the past to find a tinted brow gel that still delivers a natural-looking finish, but thanks to the lightweight formula, this does exactly that.

4. Refy Brow Sculpt

Refy's brow gel has been advertised as a statement gel that delivers a laminated brow look at home. However, I actually think this product is incredibly versatile. Yes, you can build it up to create a super statement finish, but just one coat creates a more natural, lifted look that stays in place for hours. I'd definitely recommend starting with a small amount and seeing how you get on, but if you like a naturally laminated look, I don't think you can go wrong with this.

5. Merit Brow 1980

If soft, fluffy brows are your goal, you need to know about this Merit brow gel. Delivering just the right amount of volume, it gives brows that effortlessly cool finish whilst looking as if you've barely touched them. If there is a skin tool that's dominated the past few years, it's undoubtedly LED masks. As a beauty editor, it's one of the topics I'm most asked about. And in my decade of working as a beauty journalist and trialling products for a living, I've now tested dozens of LED masks for my job, reviewing the best ones for months at a time to see if they really work. Most of these LED devices come at a significant investment (most are upwards of £300), but not as much as the Dermalux Flex MD LED Light Therapy Device, which comes in just shy of £2,000. It claims to be the world's most powerful LED mask and is what you'll often find in clinics; however, it's also available for home purchase.

For that reason, I've decided to put this LED therapy device to the test and find out if this incredibly expensive piece of equipment is really worth the money for myself. Scroll on for what you need to know, my honest thoughts and the before-and-after pictures of my results.

Dermalux Flex MD LED Light Therapy Device

How Does It Work?

The Dermalux Flex MD LED Light Therapy Device is about as close as you can get to a professional LED therapy treatment at home, and that's exactly what contributes to its premium price tag. It's the same device used by many skin and aesthetics professionals in clinics to treat a wide range of concerns, from acne, eczema and psoriasis to collagen stimulation, on both the face and body. It can also help with joint and muscle pain, as well as wound healing, making it an incredibly versatile piece of equipment. The LEDs sit on a flexible panel that can be detached from the base, allowing you to use it across both the face and body. This is particularly handy if you experience skin concerns elsewhere on the body, as you can simply position the panel over the affected area.

How to Use It

The device comes with a selection of different light treatments—enough to customise your routine without feeling overwhelming—which can be mixed and matched via the intuitive control panel. Simply select your chosen LED setting(s), put on the included safety goggles and press start. From there, all that's left to do is lie back and relax while the device gets to work. Even with the goggles on, the light feels incredibly bright at first, which takes a little getting used to, but I found the treatment surprisingly soothing. It's warming and feels like lying in the sun, minus the UV damage and with all the skin-rejuvenating benefits of LED therapy.

There's also a helpful booklet explaining which light combinations work best for different skin concerns. One thing worth mentioning is that the near-infrared setting appears almost invisible in daylight. Rest assured, the light is there—it just isn't visible to the naked eye, and I found it particularly effective for reducing inflammation.

One of my favourite things about the Flex MD is its versatility. The flexible LED panel can be removed from the base, which makes it easy to use on both the face and body, while the ability to customise treatments means you can target one specific concern or combine wavelengths to tackle several at once. Great if, like me, you want to target a few different things at once.

My Experience

I've been using this LED device over the past five weeks, however, it's actually my second time testing it after I first road-tested it four years ago. My skin concerns largely remain the same as before (hormonal acne, uneven skin texture); however, I'm now dealing with rosacea, pigmentation and early signs of fine lines and skin laxity. I was previously impressed with the results when I was first loaned the device, but I was curious to see how it worked again on my newer concerns now that I'm in my early thirties.

I used the LED device three or four times per week for the full 30 minutes, and I used all three wavelengths combined together: red, blue and infrared (you can use them individually too, but for the sake of testing, I went all in to address my many skin concerns). Red helps stimulate collagen production and improve pigmentation; blue targets acne, while infrared works to calm inflammation and support healing. Immediately after the 30-minute session, I didn't notice a dramatic transformation, of course, but my skin looked a little glowier and noticeably less inflamed the following day. I've previously used the device on my hands during an eczema flare-up, and over the following days the irritation visibly settled. The more impressive results, however, came with consistent use over the following weeks.

By the one-month mark, I noticed my sun-induced pigmentation was fading, and my skin looked healthier and more radiant overall. The improvements were subtle rather than dramatic, but they were definitely noticeable when I looked in the mirror. By the final day of testing, some hormonal acne had appeared on my chin. No device is going to completely cure or prevent skin conditions, but I do think this helped with the management. Breakouts and redness stayed largely under control throughout the trial, and when blemishes did appear, they cleared much faster than they normally would. Overall, my skin has been better-behaved since adding it into my routine.

My skin also possesses more of an all-round healthy glow, looks more even in tone and less red. I've kept my skincare routine largely the same since using this, so I can vouch that this LED device really does work. I'm in between Botox treatments, with my last one having fully worn off, so I was pleased to see that fine lines I'm beginning to see around my eyes and forehead also look softened. Additionally, I found these treatments to be so relaxing, and it became a part of my bedtime routine that also benefited my sleep quality (maybe it's coincidental, but my Oura Ring ratings were always better on the nights I used it).

My Verdict

I hate to say it, but this LED device really does deliver on the results, which makes the price even more painful, as I wish I could afford it myself! My only real criticism (aside from that price tag) is the size. As it's designed for professional clinic use, it's understandably much larger than the wearable LED masks I tested. That's not necessarily a downside, but it did take up a fair amount of space in my flat. Because I was using it so regularly, it was far easier to leave it assembled than pack it away after every session.

If I had to be particularly picky, I'd also say the 30-minute treatment time can be difficult to fit into a busy routine. Unlike wearable LED masks that you can potter around in for 10 minutes, you can't get on with other tasks while using this one, and wearing the safety goggles is essential, so you can't multitask or watch a TV show. That said, it's a great excuse to switch off, lie back and catch up on a podcast instead.

Of course, it's impossible to overlook that this is a seriously expensive piece of equipment, and it also can't replace your skincare routine. This sample is on loan to me for the review, and I don't have a spare £2k to drop on an LED device. However, if you regularly invest in professional LED treatments in-clinic, and want to enjoy similar benefits at home that are more powerful than your typical LED masks, then it could well prove worthwhile. The option to use this on the face and body means you could also save from having to purchase separate LED panels, LED hand masks or other LED devices that target different areas of the body, such as the neck, which could easily add up to over £1000.

So if you can look past the eye-watering price, and have the money to splash out, then I'd say this device is a worthwhile investment. It's one of the closest at-home alternatives to an in-clinic LED treatment currently available, and in my experience, it delivers results that justify its reputation.

How I Tested

This is my second time using the Dermalux Flex MD LED Light Therapy Device, and for my second time trialling it, I tested it three to four times per week for 30 minutes over the course of five weeks whilst the device was on loan to me. Last weekend, the most beloved players in the WNBA descended on Chicago to participate in the biggest All-Star Weekend in league history, with a record 19,783 fans attending the All-Star Game—the first time the WNBA outdrew the NBA ever. But basketball wasn't the only happening over the three-day event. Given how much the W has grown in recent years, it should come as no surprise that brands from all over joined in on the action, Coach being one of them. As the official handbag partner of the WNBA, the leather-goods brand played a significant role in making the 2026 All-Star Weekend not only a success, but a stylish one at that.
