From a $5.6 million Hollywood dress to $57.4 million earrings, we love ogling the most beautiful, outrageously priced items on the market. Our latest obsession? A 37-carat pink diamond that Sotheby's will be auctioning off in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 15. It's expected to fetch between $20 and $30 million—yes, really.
Dubbed the Raj Pink, the bauble is far from your average diamond. In fact, Sotheby's calls it the "world's largest known fancy intense pink diamond," per the press release. If you're not familiar with diamond terminology, "fancy" refers to a diamond with color, and "intense" refers to how strong the hue is, on a scale of faint to deep.
"The discovery of any pink diamond is exceptional, but the Raj Pink’s remarkable size and intensity of color places it in the rarefied company of the most important pink diamonds known," Sotheby's chairman David Bennett said in a statement. In other words, you officially know what to buy when you win the lottery.
