Prada's rich, worldly F/W 16 collection made its debut today during Milan Fashion Week. Full of dramatic, layered looks with a nautical theme throughout, the collection had its share of patterned brocade, floral prints, and checked tweed, but there was one preppy print in particular that was hard to miss: A number of the models wore argyle patterned socks, tights, and gloves in a variety of fall-friendly shades. Given the influential nature of the legendary fashion house, we wouldn't be surprised to see argyle popping up more and more when fall approaches.
Another noteworthy takeaway from today's show was Prada's foray into this season's direct-to-consumer model. The brand debuted two new handbags on the runway today—the Pionnière and the Cahier—and both will be available for purchase from the Prada e-store and in select stores in Milan, Paris, London, and New York City starting tomorrow.
