If we had to guess what color most women plan to wear on February 14, we’d go with pink or red for obvious reasons. However, as much of a no-brainer as that seems, we’d be wrong according to a 2016 Rent the Runway study. Based on an analysis of its rental data over the week of Valentine’s Day, red and pink are surprisingly out. 70% of orders reflected dresses in other bright colors, like green and blue, which you'd typically associate more with the spring and summer months. But that’s not the only shocker: The retailer has seen an increase in floor-length gown rentals. Fancy, right? And in a more expected trend insight, romantic lace dresses were of particular interest.
