Every year, the Internet catalog Polyvore (in conjunction with Yahoo and Tumblr) releases the top search results for categories like tech gadgets, celebrities, and fashion. Last year fast-fashion companies took the cake, with Topshop, H&M, and Forever 21 in the top five, but the tide changed significantly in 2015. Which brands made the cut this time around? Nike, Adidas, Givenchy, Fendi, and Converse, according to a report from WWD.
Evidently consumers had sportswear and luxury items on the brain this year. “I think it shows they were infusing their wardrobes with affordable things and then also willing to splurge on [brands like] Givenchy,” Polyvore fashion editor Amy Wicks explains. But rather than signaling the death knell of fast fashion, Wicks sees the results as a sign of athleisure’s increased popularity. It will be very interesting to see if the trend prevails in 2016!
