We wouldn't blame you if you tend to focus your wardrobe spending on work clothes or party attire. However, if you're looking to really get some bang for your buck, there's an often-overlooked category that you might want to pay more attention to: sleepwear.
It makes sense, too. In Fast Company's recent interview with Ashley Merrill, the Lunya designer waxed poetic on the merits of well-made sleepwear. "You spend a third of your life asleep, and that doesn't even include the time you spend hanging around the house," Merrill told Fast Company. "People will spend $250 on a cocktail dress that they'll wear two or three times, and we feel justified in that because it's for other people. If you're looking at a use case, this is a much better purchase—you're going to wear this a lot more, and it's about you." The message? Treat yourself!
Fast Company points out that the category has become more and more important for retailers, with many seeing huge increases in sleepwear sales in recent years.
