Nina Dobrev Told Us the #1 Trend She Wants to Try for Fall

Our sister site Byrdie recently had the opportunity to interview Nina Dobrev. Correction: They tasked Dobrev's best friend Ruby Rose with interviewing her, and they got to eavesdrop. (Read the interview in full and see the exclusive photos here.)

While Dobrev and Rose discussed fitness, wellness, friendship, skincare, and Dobrev's new film, Dog Days (and the plethora of other projects she has in the works), Byrdie also snuck in a few questions pertaining to style. Despite the fact that Dobrev certainly has a sizable wardrobe budget, we love that the star's cool, L.A.-girl aesthetic still feels accessible and wearable, which is why it's followed so closely and why we were so curious to find out which trends and designers Dobrev is focusing on for fall. Get the exclusive scoop straight from Dobrev herself and see her modeling some of the latest trends below.

What's the number one trend you want to try for fall?

I'm excited for all the suiting and menswear. I find it so chic and exudes confidence when a woman walks into a room of dresses wearing a suit.

What's the one you want to retire for fall?

I don’t know about retiring… nothing? Fashion is an expression of self. Whatever someone wants to wear that makes them feel good is also good with me. Live your best life, and I'll live mine.

What's the last fashion item you bought and why?

Same Swimwear. It's so flattering and the materials they use are top notch. Elevated swimwear.

Any brands that you're particularly into now?

Chloé, Louis Vuitton, and Calvin Klein. I'm really excited for Céline!

What's the most valuable style tip you've learned from [stylist] Kate Young?

Don't let the outfit dress you. YOU dress the outfit.

What's one thing you would change about the fashion industry?

More inclusive of race.
