The Fall Boot Trends NYC Girls Are Actually Wearing

Call me biased, but if you’re looking for footwear advice that perfectly tows the line between fashion-forward and practical, just ignore everyone else and leave it to NYC girls. After all, who better to test-drive trends than the style set who wears them and will walk actually around the city all day in them? As a Los Angeles–to–New York transplant myself, I can tell you that whole walking part really does make a difference in how you get dressed on a day to day basis. Luckily, however, just in time for fall, there are countless boot styles that make the cut for city life, and today I’m highlighting six of them. From over-the-knee to animal, see what they are (with a little help from Instagram) and shop my picks for each below.

Whether or not they were expensive, they'll look like it.

These will also come in handy when winter rolls around.

This trend doesn't seem to be going away any time soon and, as you can see, I'm pleased.

There's nothing that's not better in animal print this season.

Editor-at-Large

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2020, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch 90 Day Fiancé.
