Stella McCartney Resort 13

In the wake of a particularly moody fall season, Stella McCartney's Resort 13 collection offers a welcome change. Setting the tone with a carnival-themed presentation, McCartney expressed her ideas of a "new beginning" through vivid wallpaper florals, madras checks, and bold leopard motifs. Seventies silhouettes were a starting point, as sharply tailored suits reminiscent of Bianca Jagger's iconic wedding ensemble took center stage. Plaid, boot-cut trousers hinted at the era's Connecticut country club décor, while iridescent accents brought to mind the Studio 54 disco ball. Additionally, crisp cottons and toile lace--a nod to the first stages of garment making--gave McCartney's white-on-white looks an effortlessly feminine vibe, while slinky fringe lent evening looks a Jazz Age-inspired finish. Filled with one knockout piece after the next, we can't wait to begin shopping this collection.--Jessica Baker
