Milly, a go-to brand for feminine pieces with a modern edge, showed its S/S 17 collection yesterday, and we want everything that was sent down the runway. The wearable collection was filled with color, specifically white combined with kelly green, black, cerulean blue, and orange.
What really stood out to us were the interesting, fresh ways in which Michelle Smith designed sleeves for the tops and dresses. Off-the-shoulder, this spring's biggest trend, was still a thing, but added to the mix were one-sleeve tops, exaggerated bell sleeves, and our favorite—lace-up sleeves. The look reminds us of a ballerina's pointe shoe laces, and given that ballet is a major trend right now, the lace-up sleeves felt quite of-the-moment. We're predicting (hoping) that lace-up-sleeve tops are destined to be the next big thing when it comes to shirt trends.
