For style blogger Kristina Bazan, luxury is simply a way of life. Growing up in Geneva, Switzerland--a city countless storied fine jewelry and watch brands call home--the 19-year-old has a deep appreciation for quality and opulence. Her approach to fashion can be described as a high-low mix of classic femininity elevated with modern touches, an aesthetic that is evident in her affinity for minimalist designs and statement accessories--her favorite being a Shourouk crystal-encrusted bib necklace. Bazan isn’t afraid to step out of her comfort zone either; she recently cut bangs and introduced leather jackets and pants into her repertoire as a way to get in touch with her rock ‘n’ roll side. We chatted with the Swiss beauty about style icons, closet go-tos, and more, so keep reading for our exclusive Q&A and shop her standout style.
Let’s talk personal style for a moment. How would you describe yours?
“My personal style evolves around classic elegance and pure minimalism, though I do like to play with prints and bold statement pieces from time to time, especially during Fashion Weeks. I look up to classic beauties, such as Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn, in terms of style, but I also love more modern and sophisticated looks that Ashley Olsen, Olivia Palermo, and Elin Kling pull off perfectly.”
How does the city you live in inspire your day-to-day style?
“In Switzerland, the culture of quality is extremely present. We have a great luxury market; all the best watch brands have their headquarters in Geneva or in the region, as well as all the fine jewelry labels. So obviously being chic and classy has always been a rule for me.“

What are some of your favorite current trends?
“Instead of being inspired by one personality, I love picking up inspiration from different sources that sometimes have nothing to do with each other. I love being inspired by music; I feel like the bond with fashion is so close, and lately I’ve been so excited about the release of the new Daft Punk album, so I’ve noticed that I’ve been dressing up in a much more edgy way. I guess there’s also a big Hedi Slimane influence out there!”

Zara coat; vintage top; H&M skirt; Louis Vuitton bag and shoes.
What’s one go-to piece in your closet?
“I am absolutely crazy about my Guess by Marciano leather skinny pants, and have been wearing them almost every day since I got them. They have the perfect shape and texture, and fit with absolutely any outfit or accessory. Also, as I’ve been loving a more edgy look lately, they’re kind of the perfect rock ‘n’ roll touch.“

Where are some of your favorite places to shop?
“I am definitely a big lover of online shopping. Since we don’t have a big diversity of shops in Switzerland it’s always nice to be able to find some exclusive pieces on the web. I obviously love Net-A-Porter.com, but also have been crazy about MyWardrobe.com’s selection, which is full of great prints and beautiful colors. Now on a daily basis, I am a big sucker for Zara. They always have THE piece that I am looking for, and I don’t have to search for hours until I spot something I love.”
Queen’s Wardrobe dress; Sigerson Morrison shoes; Shourouk necklace.
Roberto Cavalli jacket and dress; Minusey clutch; Bally shoes; Mango necklace.
What are some of your favorite fashion sites/blogs?
“Lately I’ve been really into websites like Domaine (congratulation on the launch, I love it), The Coveteur, and Into The Gloss. I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been really into those kinds of websites instead of the personal style fashion blogs I usually read all the time. I guess it’s because I’ve been reading too much of them, so I am kind of taking a break.”
