Who What Wear Australia: What was it like to collaborate with The Outnet?
Matthew Williamson: The Outnet has always been a long-term supporter of our brand. I was keen to work with them to offer our designs at a more accessible price point.
WWW: The collection is perfect for Australians travelling overseas to escape winter. What are your favourite travel destinations?
MW: The Kerala backwaters in southern India for its naturalistic aesthetic, and Deia, a small coastal village in the north of Mallorca—it’s charming, simple, and relatively underdeveloped.
WWW: What’s your favourite summer holiday look for women?
MW: Vivid colour and an unexpected juxtaposition of print. Holidays let you step out of your usual style and be more adventurous.
WWW: Where did you find inspiration for this collection?
MW: In the unexpected when travelling. It’s not necessarily the typical sunset, or white sandy beach, but unique finds in markets, or colour combinations in architecture. I’m always on the lookout.
WWW: And lastly, what are your ultimate packing essentials?
MW: I always travel with my phone and charger, a big pencil case full of pens and pencils and a sketchbook. Tons of T-shirts, sunblock and a straw hat usually do the trick!
