When we think of Marilyn Monroe, one of the most popular images of the star may come to mind: her iconic windblown skirt from The Seven Year Itch. We don't have the same access to candid images of the actors and actresses of Old Hollywood as we do of modern beloved celebs (hello, Chrissy Teigen's Instagram), so it's especially enthralling to see off-duty, behind-the scenes images from the lives of these icons.
One museum is offering just that: West Hollywood's Morrison Hotel Gallery has a new exhibit featuring behind-the-scenes footage and photos of the starlet from Milton H. Greene, a legendary photographer who was a friend of Monroe's. Vanity Fair shared an exclusive preview of the 16-mm footage, which captures the icon in some of her most intimate out-of-the-spotlight moments. Hint: Skip to 1:15 to see her wedding day with third husband Arthur Miller. Be sure to check out the full Some Like It Hot exhibit, on display through July 24.
