Every once in awhile, a new designer crosses our path, so talented, that we simply have no choice but to stop everything and rally in excitement over each and every style. Mari Giudicelli, a model signed with Ford, who has quietly been mingling with fashion's “in-crowd” for a few years now, is one such instance. The Brazilian-born New Yorker is launching a namesake shoe line for fall, and, just wow. Keep scrolling to spy the four-piece collection: a mule, a boot, a loafer, and a slide sandal, and read our interview with the young designer.
What motivated you to launch your label?
"I wanted to create shoes that were comfortable and elegant to carry women through their day."
Was there specific inspiration for this collection?
"The silhouettes are very classic, and the choice of elevated materials and unexpected details makes it special. Brazil has a lot of natural resources, and I wanted to explore that, the different textures and qualities of it."
What mix of materials did you use?
"All styles are offered in lizard leather or suede, with or without fur lining."
Can we get a hint when we will be able to sign up for pre-orders?
"We'll open for pre-orders around mid-February, after Fashion Week. But sign up now for updates! Deliveries will start arriving late August through September 2016."
