When you consider the world's fashion capitals, Dallas may not be at the top of the list, but with the right tour guide, there's plenty of chic things to be found in the heart of Texas. Lyndsey Butler's Veda is a favorite among New York It girls, but the designer took a trip south and came back with a rundown of the things every fashion girl should do if she finds herself in Dallas.
From chic museums to the best cocktail bar and, of course, plenty of shopping, Lyndsey's list of cool haunts will help you hit every must-see spot while in town (not to mention pick out a little something special for yourself and down a margarita or two). Now, just make sure to pack your cowboy boots, and you'll be good to go! (It is Texas, after all.)

"Dolly Python reminds me of my great aunt's house in East Texas. It's filled with 'treasures' like a rainbow of insects in resin, a full-length fur coat that no one in Texas needs, and some creepy dolls. It's fun to dig through their racks of vintage clothes, cowboy (girl) boots in all colors and sizes, and dishes of conversational pins."
"The Joule Hotel is currently my favorite hotel. It's the perfect mix of southern hospitality and modern amenities."
"Midnight Rambler is probably the coolest bar in town—even locals agree. It is located in the basement of The Joule Hotel and often described as a 'cocktail den.' It is the perfect place for a nightcap or to get lost for several hours. (Spotty cell service underground helps!)"
"Nasher Sculpture Center is located downtown and is an oasis in the midst of skyscrapers and busy streets. A stroll through their grounds and a peek at the Picasso should be on everyone's to-do list."
"No shopping trip to Dallas is complete without a tour of the flagship Neiman Marcus store in downtown Dallas. The building is a historic Texas landmark with many of its original architectural details still on display."
"The L.A.-based shop opened their second location in The Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas a few years ago, bringing some of their California cool to Texas. They have all the cool independent designers like Rachel Comey, Jesse Kamm, and Sophie Buhai."
