Good news for Lululemon lovers: The veteran cool athleisure brand is having a good year. According to Fashionista, Lululemon's profits have risen this year for the first time since 2014, and their CFO Stuart Haselden is calling the past few months a "turning point" for the brand. The positive sales growth can be attributed to the fact that the brand "sold more high-margin categories, ran fewer markdowns and reduced product costs." Specifically, in the womenswear category, Fashionista reports that sales for textured tops with mesh, braiding, bonding, and engineered prints, as well as bra and tank sales all increased.
To further the good news, Lululemon plans on opening more stores across the globe in an effort to climb toward their goal of doubling their revenue (to a whopping $4 billion!) by the year 2020.
