There's no worse feeling than ruining a pair of great boots when a night out ends with unexpectedly bad weather. But, instead of being stuck choosing between footwear that's practical or stylish, Louis Vuitton has combined the two for F/W 2017.
Designer Nicolas Ghesquière looked to Japanese anime as a source of inspiration for his latest collection, which he debuted in Paris's most iconic museum, The Louvre. And as for his choice of footwear, it was unexpectedly on trend, with the constant rain that plagued the final leg of fashion week.
In addition to the ultra-practical ankle boots, the looks on the runway offered an unexpected mix of textures, layering leather with rich wool trousers and colorful knits. Our prediction: The idea of practical mix-and-match pieces is one that will dominate the coming fall.
