The appointment of Maymac, who boasts 2.5m Instagram followers, aims to bring a point of difference to the heritage company—diversity and a younger audience. Maymac is Filipino Australian, which the brand sees as a step forward for the fashion world.
The brand will be releasing its A/W 17 campaign on February 1, and the new season signifies a fresh beginning for Oroton—re-imagining its signature styles that you already know and love.

WHO WHAT WEAR AUSTRALIA: Oroton is such an iconic brand, what attracts you to it?
Lily Maymac: I love Oroton for its quality and elegance. It's a brand that caters to a wide audience and I love that accessibility.
WWW: What’s your earliest memory of Oroton?
LM: Over the past few years I have collected lots of items from Oroton - from the iconic umbrellas to the renowned bags, which is why I love the brand.
WWW: What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
LM: The highlight of my career has been travelling to so many different countries. From all over Asia, to the US and Europe. Being able to meet my fans all around the world and to make them proud is all I want to do right now.
WWW: You have a huge social following on Instagram – how quickly did it grow? Why do you think this is?
LM: My following has increased at a rate I couldn't even imagine. I reached 1 million in December 2015 and by July 2016 it went up to 2 million!
