One of Instagram's greatest gifts to the world thus far (aside from all the models posting perfect selfies, of course) is the phenomenon that is #WomanCrushWednesday. In a world that spends way too much time criticizing women, it's a very female-positive movement—one that most often results in women posting pictures of other women they admire.
We've decided to get it on the trend, choosing one woman crush to highlight each Wednesday. This week: Leona Binx Walton (known most often as simply Binx), badass model and street style star extraordinaire.
Scroll down to learn some new things about Walton, and why we love her!
Walton, now 19 years old, achieved a huge fashion coup when she became creative director Phoebe Philo's model of choice to front Céline's ad campaigns.
Née Leona Walton, the model was given the nickname Binx as a child because her two older brothers thought she looked like Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks.
Walton is one of the most oft-sought after and prolific runway models at the moment; she walked in a whopping 27 shows during the S/S 14 season.
She's a Southern girl at heart: Walton spent much of her childhood in rural Tennessee.
Her "about" section on Instagram begins, "Shoutout to my mom." Cute!
In order to walk 27 shows for the S/S 14 season, Walton had to take a break from her favorite activity: football. She told i-D magazine that she had to stop playing in order to be able to maintain her rigorous schedule that month.
Walton was discovered, along with older sister and fellow model Tati Walton, when they were sitting poolside. Walton was only nine years old at the time.
