Think skinny jeans are relegated to certain body types? Think again. Lane Bryant has just introduced its new Super Stretch Skinny Jeans, which will easily become your new go-to. The brand tapped a slew of gorgeous faces to front the campaign promoting the launch, including model Denise Bidot, dancer Lizzy Howell, and influencer Kelly Augustine. Naturally, we wanted to go straight to the source, so we got the scoop on the campaign from 31-year-old Bidot.
When we asked Bidot why it's important to her to work with brands that don't retouch, she had the best response. "I think it's important to work with brands who listen to their consumer," she told Who What Wear. "The damaging thing is when we alter a person's shape or ethnic features to be more 'acceptable.' I think it's important to not work with brands who take the fashion fantasy and turn it into a way to make women feel bad about themselves. You can be a fantasy and have thick thighs. They are not mutually exclusive." Amen to that—we couldn't have dreamed up a more succinct answer.
As for her newest Lane Bryant campaign, Bidot was quick to point out exactly why she has a soft spot for the brand. "They have been consistently celebrating women with curves for decades," she told us. "I like most that they are constantly innovating and collaborating—they are actively trying to make the fashion world better and more inclusive for plus-size women, and that is a beautiful thing."
