Why Ellery Is Showing at Paris Fashion Week

Kym Ellery (aka the woman who gifted us with the resurgence of flares), needs you to do something: Note October 6 in your calendar. It marks the first time the designer will be showing on the official Paris Fashion Week schedule. Also on the timetable? Legendary brands like Chanel, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton. Not bad for a girl from Perth.

Ahead of the show, our friends at Huffington Post sat down with Ellery to discuss the evolution of the designer’s eponymous brand and how Paris came to be. Ellery says, "I have loved France ever since I was young girl. When I launched Ellery many years ago my goal was to eventually show my work as part of Paris Fashion Week. I began to bring my collection to Paris for showroom showings since 2012 and at that time met with Dider Grumbach from the Chambres Syndicale. He encouraged me to continue on my global growth and so I did."

So what can we expect to see? "I wanted to explore the idea of wrapping the body as they wrapped the rocky cliffs and use that idea to rework cut concepts that we have become known for," Ellery said. We’re predicting yet another mile-long sartorial wish list.
