You may recall that about a year ago, Kim Kardashian joined forces with Paper magazine to "break the Internet" with a mostly nude cover show in the style of famous French photographer Jean-Paul Goude. Well, the numbers are in, and it turns out that Kardashian basically did what was asked of her.
In a press release that hit our inboxes this morning, Paper reveals that the digital version of Kardashian's story raked in a monumental 40 million unique visitors. For those of you who aren't super-well-versed in web traffic speak, here's another stat to put it in perspective: That's a whopping 1% of all web traffic in the U.S. That's quite a lot for just one celebrity.
And Kardashian's unforgettable cover had a lasting effect, too: In 2015, Paper's site has seen between five and 10 times as much daily traffic on average compared to last year. If you ask us, Paper owes Kardashian a fairly big thanks for its online business boost!
