Great style is par for the course during New York Fashion Week, but a few select people raise the bar year after year. Karolina Kurkova is one of those people. Whether she’s hitting the red carpet at one of the week’s hottest parties or catching a tennis match, the model is always impeccably turned out in looks that are equal parts chic and cool. Naturally, we were over the moon when Kurkova graciously agreed to walk us through some of her thoughtfully curated outfits from the week.
Keep reading for Kurkova’s reasoning on why white after Labor Day is always a good thing, her tip for menswear-inspired dressing, and more.
Wearing: Dion Lee top; Cushnie Et Ochs skirt; Eva Fehren jewelry; Rauwolf clutch; Christian Louboutin heels.
“I decided to go with a fun, sexy statement look for Fashion Rocks by highlighting some of my favorite new designers. I love how the top had a Grecian, bandaged feel and was tough and feminine all at the same time. I paired it with a tight, white pencil skirt and super dainty jewelry. I wanted to keep the hair soft and elegant to contrast the look. As you can tell, I still love wearing white after Labor Day—it keeps things light and clean yet defined.”
Wearing: Tod’s jacket, trousers, and shoes.
“I love the cropped pants as a new take on a menswear-inspired suit. The double-breasted jacket gives a masculine vibe, and wearing this lilac color is perfect for an end-of-summer feel. I wanted my makeup to be clean and fresh, and I decided to add a pretzel twist for my hair, which kept the look chic, feminine, and effortless.”
Wearing: The Row suit; Hougton bralette; Pamela Love earrings; Jennifer Fisher necklace; Anna Sheffield rings; Versace clutch; Tom Ford heels.
“I loved the combination of the satin off-white long jacket with cropped high-waisted pants. Although it’s a suit, I wanted to give it a feminine twist by wearing the jacket open with a black bralette. The key here was the old Hollywood glam hair and makeup. The whole look really played on the masculine versus feminine of it all.”
Wearing: Moncler sunglasses; Reiss shirt; Rachel Zoe jeans; Saint Laurent bag.
“White on white is a staple look for me for during the summer. A menswear-inspired white oversized button-down is an absolute must-have in my closet. I paired it with white wide-leg jeans for a crisp and elegant yet sporty look for the US Open.”
