Fall is my favorite season. The air is crisp, the leaves start to turn a fiery red, and the sun starts to fade half past 6 p.m. No heavy snow coats necessary just yet; it’s all about chunky sweaters, knee-high boots, light coats, blanket scarves, and layers. Here are the new items I’d like to integrate into my wardrobe now.
Patent Leather Ankle Boots
Although the F/W 15 Dior patent leather boots are my favorite, the price is a bit steep. There are other brands that make similar styles. Pair them with a floral-print minidress and finish the look with a sweater or duster coat. You can also rock them with culottes, a turtleneck, and a leather jacket. It’s nice to show off the shoes, so make sure any bottoms hit above the knee (or just below).
Jeffrey Campbell Truly Patent Leather Booties ($180)
Purchase a menswear-inspired belt in a size medium or large. The extra slack allows you to do an interesting tie. This simple accessory can be worn over bulkier items—like vests, sweaters, cardigans, and coats—to create a flattering waist.
River Island Suede Belt ($33)
Bohemian Floral-Print Dress
This style is great for all seasons! I recommend looking for higher-quality fabrics because silk chiffon travels better and wrinkles less than rayon.
Étoile Isabel Marant Sukey Slavic Flowers Dress ($405)
Wide-Leg Wool Trousers
Remember it’s all about proportions. Wide-leg trousers pair perfectly with a tucked-in silk top and a long, belted sleeveless vest. Finish the look with ankle boots or lace-up heels showing a sliver of skin.
Leur Logette Wide Pants With Center Pleats ($520)
