Irina Shayk Just Solved My #1 Summer Outfit Frustration
It's summer, and you know what that means: The higher the temperatures, the higher the hemlines. When it gets blisteringly hot, it's tempting to wear as little as possible—and dresses certainly fit the bill. However, many of you might share in my top summer frustration: finding so many cute dresses that are just too darn short.
I always find myself pining after super-cute, celebrity-loved dresses, but if it's not a midi or maxi dress, it's laughingly inappropriate for my 5'10" frame. It's not just tall girls, however. I recently overheard our 5'3" social media editor, Caitlin, chatting about the struggle of too-short dresses. Which gets me to the point of my story: Irina Shayk just demonstrated a simple style hack to solve this sartorial problem. She wore bike shorts under her Reformation dress, which is an amazingly simple yet genius way to make short dresses suitable for running around in the summer. It couldn't be any easier, but for some reason, I thought shorts would ruin the look of a cute dress—until I saw Shayk pull it off with ease. Scroll down to see how she did it and shop similar pieces.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
