It’s no secret that everyone from street style stars to the world’s most fashionable celebrities loves a good jumpsuit. From badass, all-denim jumpers to impossibly chic versions in delicate silk fabrications, the wardrobe staple is as comfortable as it is stylish—and truth be told, they can be worn in a number of situations ranging from a casual Saturday running errands to an ultra-swanky evening soirée.

Celebrity stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliott explain how to wear a jumpsuit so that you can take the piece anywhere. Read on for their advice.

Formal

Elevate your jumpsuit with strategic accessories. Start with stellar high heels—perhaps a strappy number with a punch of color or embellishment. Style with either your favorite statement earrings or a necklace that you normally would pair with a fancy dress. A bold colored lip helps finish your look.

Office

If you’re in need of more office-friendly coverage—try a short-sleeve button-down, buttoned smartly to the top and tucked neatly under your jumpsuit. Throw on a blazer over your ensemble and a pair with sleek wedges or clever little loafers.

Casual

Wear a jumpsuit with casual and breathable layers—think a short-sleeve knit crew neck tee underneath or an easy denim jacket over. Stick to flat shoes—slip-on sneakers or good old Chuck Taylors. Brown leather flat sandals also always bring a natural, casual, summer-friendly feel. Stick to your own little pieces of jewelry—your dainty necklaces, an everyday watch, and little layers of rings and bracelets.
