Think back to when you were a kid. Remember how stress-free the holidays were? You basically had nothing to worry about except decorating your home festively and opening presents. But fast-forward, and it’s one of the most stressful—though enchanting—times of year. Not only do you have to get gifts for everyone on your list (including yourself!) and attend countless parties, but you also have to stay sane through it all. But it is possible. Just look to Mara Ferreira of M Loves M, as she and her husband, Matthew, decided to escape reality (aka L.A. holiday madness) with Tommy Bahama for the perfect retreat.
Scroll down for four ways to recharge this holiday season.
“Before heading into a jam-packed holiday season, Matthew and I decided to make a day trip down the coast to Laguna Beach,” says Ferreira. “It felt like a peaceful retreat from the craziness of city life.”
“Matthew and I decided to get lunch at the Tommy Bahama Bar & Grill. I love the California coastal dishes, each made with a unique island twist, plus I can never say no to live music,” says Ferreira.
“When you’re visiting a beach town, you have to stop for a double scoop of ice cream,” says Ferreira. “It was the perfect treat for walking around and doing window shopping.”
“Tommy Bahama has the best knits, like the one I’m wearing,” explains Ferreira. “My friends and I live in sweaters during the fall, so I knew they’d also love one for the holidays. I also picked up a few classic plaid button-downs, along with a fun island print for some family. You have to live the aloha spirit year-round!”
