Everyone’s heard it before: Timing is everything, from finding your S.O. to coming across that perfect addition for your wardrobe (like a classic watch). And newlywed fashion blogger Kimberly Pesch of Eat Sleep Wear is a pro at both. Despite their hectic schedules, Pesch and husband Blake Lapides have made a point of slowing down and taking time to celebrate their first anniversary as a married couple. So how did they freeze time for the occasion? Below, Pesch and Lapides share insights on how to make this milestone a special one (including the perfect dress and shoe combo).

“Blake would never ask for anything. I try to keep notes in my phone when I notice something catch his eye. I love to spoil him with luxe clothes or accessories he can add to his everyday outfits. Just a little something special to finish off his looks,” explains Pesch.
“I look for something simple and elegant. I always pay attention to what she notices in a store or shows me,” says Lapides, on choosing a watch for Pesch that fits her style.
“Blake and I pretty much planned our first-anniversary trip the minute we landed back in L.A. from our wedding in Maui. It was a no-brainer that we wanted to return to the destination where our ceremony took place. I loved looking forward to this getaway for the whole year in anticipation of celebrating,” says Pesch.
“On the day of our actual anniversary, we had dinner at our favorite restaurant in Maui, and I also booked a sunrise portrait session. Now we have an exceptionally special souvenir from our trip that we can hang in our home. It’s such a nice memory to be reminded of daily,” says Pesch.
“I’m a ‘less is more kind’ of girl,” says Pesch. “I gravitate toward classic pieces with a twist. I love a little black dress paired with chunky heeled sandals to add edge to my look. The MICHELE watch is the perfect accessory for any outfit, adding sparkle and texture. It’s the best gift I could have received for our anniversary; it has that special wow factor.”
