The $30 H&M "Ugly" Pants I Added to Cart Without Hesitation

I'm pretty sure that the last time I owned khaki pants was in college. They were an admittedly ugly boot-cut pair, but at the time, it was just one of those things that everyone owned. They weren't a trend, but they were just always around. Khaki pants, or "chinos," had since faded from relevance and you certainly couldn't dream of finding a cool pair in most retailers' inventory. And then 2017 happened. Designers started endorsing khaki pants again, and fashion girls and celebs (as in Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid) started wearing them. And then, inevitably, fast-fashion brands started stocking them. Which brings me to my latest H&M find.

Ever since I gave up wearing jeans for a week (harder than it sounds), I've realized that I'm in dire need of some trouser diversity in my wardrobe. If I had to guess, I'd say that most fashion girls weren't immediately on board with the khaki pants resurgence, but all it took was a $30 pair from H&M to convince me that I did, in fact, need a pair of these "ugly" pants. And these don't hold back: They're high-waisted, pleated, and cuffed, just like the fashion crowd likes them right now. H&M has been so good lately, and its winning streak continues with the brand's take on spring's "ugly" khaki pants trend.

So needless to say, I had to finally give in to this major trend for a mere $30. And if my khaki pants of choice aren't your speed, H&M has a slew of other options currently in stock. Shop my pick and the best of the rest below!
