Who says fashion is just for 20-somethings? The industry loves taking style cues from maturer muses too—just look to Baddie Winkle and Advanced Style for proof. Now you can add our latest Instagram obsession, Hildie Plumpepper, to that list.
Hildie is a fictional character created by illustrator Jill Anthony, a resident of upstate New York and a self-described "fashion nerd mom" with two children. She's been drawing since she was a kid and studied fashion illustration at FIT. "I started the Instagram account this spring," Anthony told us. "Hildie was a character I originally used for greeting cards to give to friends." So far, she's outfitted Hildie in everything from a Jenna Lyons–inspired J.Crew look to a Stella McCartney Resort 15 gown. "She clearly snubs her nose at 'age-appropriate' fashion!" Anthony says of her character's style.
As for what's next? "For Halloween, I want to dress Hildie in Tippi Hedren's look from The Birds and Catherine Deneuve's look from The Hunger," Anthony told us. While we eagerly anticipate those sketches, scroll down to see some of our current favorite Instagrams. Warning: Hildie's enviable wardrobe might just put yours to shame.
