Hedi Slimane: "I Never Said I Will Stop Designing"

Since exiting his role as creative director at Saint Laurent in March last year, press-shy designer Hedi Slimane has remained unsurprisingly under the radar. That is, until now.

Slimane just released one of three installments of a photography series called New York Diary with V Magazine, the first being a set of black-and-white portraits that pay homage to a few of the Big Apple's biggest artists, past and present.

He intends to devote himself to photography full-time for the moment, though not necessarily fashion photography, but he also told The New York Times, "I never said I will stop designing in the future." Here's hoping, considering the immense impact he had at Saint Laurent (including boldly moving headquarters to L.A. and even dropping the "Yves" from the brand name) and at Dior before that.
