Not every fashion girl is a costume-loving Halloween fan. And hey, that's perfectly okay. But what happens when Halloween and a major red carpet event collide? Well, at the very least we can all appreciate a subtle nod or cheeky wink to the time of year. And that’s exactly what we found at the Harper’s Bazaar UK Women of the Year Awards, an event that just so happened to fall on October 31.
While a red carpet filled with style stars usually doesn’t disappoint, this one had four specific ladies who really tickled our fancy with their use of color, prints, graphics, and general sense of total coolness. Not to mention, they each—intentionally or not—also displayed a sense of humor when it comes to festive attire. No cat ears included.
>Scroll down for our favorite ensembles of the evening that oh-so-shrewdly included a personal Halloween twist.
On Felicity Jones: Rosie Assoulin dress.
Primary colors typically remind us of the circus, but with such an interesting and abstract shape, this Rosie Assoulin creation on Felicity Jones is much more reminiscent of a walking piece of modern art.
On Emma Watson: Dior dress.
We are utterly batty for Emma Watson's straight-off-the-runway Dior number.
On Vanessa Redgrave: Gucci suit.
We admire any lady who proves that a suit is just as statement-making as a dress on the red carpet. And Vanessa Redgrave's had a subtle Saturday Night Fever vibe we're totally feeling.
On Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Saint Laurent ensemble.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's cheetah top not only hinted at the return of the "going-out top" but also took on a character all its own.
Style Icon: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
