Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion about intelligent life on other planets, but one fashion brand is sure there’s a lot more to the universe than just us Earthlings. “Gucci is pleased to announce the arrival from outer space,” the label shared in the first line of its press release for its new F/W 17 campaign. And for proof, look no further than the accompanying images.
Inspired by Hollywood classics Star Trek and The Creature From the Black Lagoon, Alessandro Michele directed the Glen Luchford–lensed shoot that combines characters of all species: humans, dinosaurs, alien, robots, and, well, several others that can’t quite be categorized in the simplest of terms. What do they all have in common? Gucci, of course.
The brand’s eclectic fall 2017 collection, including the full-body sparkle suit that Rihanna wore to Coachella, makes an appearance on models while they run toward a space ship, have an intergalactic romance, and, naturally, teleport. While this interpretation might not be exactly how the most devoted of Trekkies remember the Starship Enterprise, the campaign is one of the most unique and enchanting we've seen this year.
