No matter the season, few looks are more covetable than cool, effortless model-off-duty style—especially from a fresh-faced newcomer who has the fashion world wrapped around her finger. You've seen her walk the runway for Chanel, Fenty x Puma, Dolce & Gabbana, and Off-White, on the cover of Vogue Spain and Vogue Russia, and you'll recognize her as the newest face of Victoria's Secret Pink. So when we had the chance to catch up with top model Grace Elizabeth at the Pink Nation Motel pool party last weekend in Palm Springs, we had endless questions about her off-duty style.
"My off-duty style is a sum of three thirds," Elizabeth explained poolside. "Casual '70s rock." This sartorial triptych has become the model's signature—a combination of cool classics with major vintage vibes. "I'm always in denim or leather pants, a leather jacket, or bralettes over denim shorts," she says, listing her off-duty go-tos. Though so many It girls these days favor either skinny jeans or mom jeans when it comes to their choice of denim, the Florida native breaks the mold with her distinctive favorite, saying "I like a flare leg—I like it to be super, super tight, and then get to the leg, and just bell-bottom." Going along with her predilection for '70s styles, Elizabeth notes that her jeans are "normally always high-waisted (but I feel like that's most girls these days)," and for the wash, her favorite's a "light wash—like the old Levi's—worn in."
Not surprisingly, the self-described "denim baby" looks to the Hadids for style inspiration. "We seem to have the same type of style," Elizabeth says. "If you see Bella, she's always in leather bell-bottoms—which I don't know how she finds those; I always look for them. And Gigi, she's the Tommy Girl. She's always in denim."
