Style From A to Zoe

We're not going to get all Oprah-ish and start a club, but we would like to draw your attention to a book that's just as entertaining as it is chic-STYLE A TO ZOE: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, & Everything Glamour by Rachel Zoe.

It's an incredibly satisfying book thanks to pages packed with charming illustrations, insider pictures (red carpet, personal, and behind-the-scenes), and sage advice. While you'll have to pick up your own copy to truly comprehend the brilliance of STYLE A TO ZOE, we've compiled a few of our favorite Zoe bon mots for your viewing pleasure.

Also, for those readers who live in Los Angeles, Zoe is signing copies of her book this Saturday, November 3rd, from 12 p.m - 2 p.m. at Kitson (115 Robertson Blvd., 310.859.2652 for more information).

Zoe's suggestion to pull your favorite images to use as style reference points reminds us of our youthful tendency to collage (primarily photos of our pals mixed with pictures from magazines). For maximum creativity, pick up some super luscious magazines like 10, Numero, or V.

The costume jewelry from Kenneth Jay Lane is truly fantastic and fun. While Zoe prefers vintage KJL, we shot some items from the current collection. Product information is below, in clockwise from the top order.
Large Circle Drop Earrings ($185)
Black Ruby Lizard Cuff($315)
Emerald Square Ring ($85)
Black Pepper Necklace ($48 on sale)
Zebra Head Ring ($75)

White Wine
While Zoe doesn't specify what type of white wine she uses to remove stains, we think it's a good idea to have some Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio ($25.99) on hand-just in case.

Vintage Purse
The vintage peacock clutch from Zoe's personal collection is a stunner. The above Peacock Clutch with Chain ($225) isn't vintage, but it was handmade with cruelty-free feathers, and that's nice.

As members of the Short Nails Forever club, we were happy to note that Zoe agrees with our "clip or die" manicure ethos. Per her advice, we picked a few polishes in the suggested shades. All are from Essie's Fall 2007 Collection, from left to right.
Essie Turning Heads Red ($7)
Essie Handle With Flair ($7)
Essie Material Girl ($7)

Little Black Dress
When you find a LBD you love, one that makes you look good and feel great, well, that dress is invaluable. This Zac Posen Tapestry Tailinn Mini Dress might be that priceless frock (or $2500 in this case), thanks to the metallic brocade fabric, ultra flattering sweetheart neckline, and swirly full skirt.

It's safe to say we don't have the most amazing green thumbs. Katherine primarily sticks to fresh flowers and Hillary's accidentally committed African violet homicide more than once, however, if Zoe says orchids aren't too fussy, we'll try them. The White Moth ($125) doesn't look too intimidating, right?
