The last time a major model co-chaired the Met Gala, it was 2009, and the theme of the evening was “The Model as Muse.” Naturally, it was Kate Moss who filled the role. But now Gisele Bündchen is stepping in to help co-host the biggest fashion party of the year, and she’s making it a family affair.
As People reports, Bündchen and Tom Brady will follow in the footsteps of other famous co-chairs (mostly actresses and performers over the past several years) including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, and Sarah Jessica Parker. As a part of their role, the power couple will join Anna Wintour at the Anna Wintour Costume Center on the first Monday in May for the event to honor iconic Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons. The theme of the evening will be “Art of the In-Between.”
>Bündchen and Brady are longtime attendees—and best dressed list makers—of the very prestigious and high-fashion affair. While only a few models have filled the co-chair role in the last decade, even fewer athletes have. Congrats to them both!
