Fortune magazine just released its annual 100 Best Companies to Work For list. So which inspiring businesses made the cut? There were plenty of recognizable names, including Google, Hilton, Delta Air Lines, and American Express, but only two fashion-related companies were honored in the roundup, and they're both retailers: REI and Nordstrom. REI took the number 28 spot, while Nordstrom came in at number 94.
To come up with the list, Fortune surveyed over 230,000 employees and factored in everything from the quality of leaders and relationship with colleagues to compensation and training.
Impressively, both REI and Nordstrom have made the list every single year since Fortune created the roundup 20 years ago. The magazine explained why REI is so appealing: "Employees say this co-op prioritizes the planet over profits—70% of which go back to members, staff, and community causes." As for Nordstrom, Fortune says the retailer is able to make employees feel empowered and trusted. We don't blame you if you're tempted to start Googling job openings at these amazing companies.
