If you looked up "It girl" in the dictionary, Whitney Port would be one of the faces. She's essentially been an It girl since our first introduction to her back in The Hills days. Today, the style powerhouse is a podcast host (don't forget to subscribe to With Whit), the creative director of The High Confectionary, and a designer. On that note, this It girl just released a new line of It sunglasses with Luv Lou.

As it turns out, the pajama pants I bought at the beginning of quarantine back in March have proven to be one of my best investments as I adjust to work-from-home life. I miss all my nicer clothes that are collecting dust, but I certainly can't complain that I'm lucky enough to work in my PJs. It's pretty much a fact that nobody can resist a good affordable find—not even celebrities are immune. Celebrities do, on the other hand, have access to things we commoners could only dream of, so when they choose to wear an affordable find, it means it must be good. 

Recently I've noticed some of our favorite fashionable celebs wearing seriously cool under-$150 pieces—from Elsa Hosk's chic swimsuit to Emily Ratajkowski's pretty gold jewelry to Jasmine Tookes's perfect summer dress. Each of these looks had me scouring the internet to shop these pieces, so I figured I'd share the wealth with you today. When I started writing this story, my intention was to focus on Elsa's chic sweater, only to realize her pretty miniskirt is also under $150—win-win. If you can believe it, it's been 13 years since The Hills first premiered on MTV, introducing us to the world of Lauren and Heidi fights, Teen Vogue intern life, and combat boots on the beach. We first got word of the reboot back in August, and now the time has finally come to see what the cast is up to in 2019.

The stars of The Hills: New Beginnings took to the red carpet last night to celebrate the show ahead of the official premiere on Monday, June 24. Original show members like Whitney Port, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, and Audrina Patridge joined newcomers like Mischa Barton on the red carpet, sparking more than a little bit of nostalgia. Only time will tell if the revamped version is as compelling as the original one, but it's safe to say we're extremely curious to see how things will play out. I know, I know—everyone loved The Hills, but what I also know is that no one loved The Hills as much as I did. I grew up in Orange County, California, where I frequently saw the cast of Laguna Beach; was friends with Lauren Conrad's little brother, Brandon; and even went to his birthday party at their old iconic Laguna home (the one with two palm trees), where I met the LC. So yeah, I felt like kind of a big deal. Although I obsessed over all the petty drama, continuously crushed on Steven Colletti despite his minimal presence on the show, and dreamed of interning at Teen Vogue for most of my adolescent life, I can still admit that the fashion on the show was wild and worthy of a good laugh. As we anxiously await the remake of the iconic reality series, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the standout fashion moments throughout the show's run.

I honestly don't think there's a better depiction of just how random the trends of the 2000s were than The Hills. Lauren, Heidi, Whitney, and Audrina faced their SoCal lives clad in extra-long camisoles, round-toe pumps, and plastic headbands of all kinds. As the show was airing, every episode was viewed as an inside glimpse at the scandalous lives of L.A.'s elite, but it was also a mood board for all the items I was going to buy at the mall that weekend. I wore the headbands, I collected those obnoxious plastic bead necklaces, and I begged my mom for a new Juicy Couture tracksuit just about every other week. So, when I playfully poke fun at the fashion during that time below, keep in mind that I also partook in all 15 of the looks you're about to witness. In other words, this story is essentially making fun of myself. Here we go.

While working at Teen Vogue, looking cute was obviously a priority for both Whitney and Lauren. Apparently, impressing her boss, Lisa Love, required a lace ruffled camisole and flared jeans. Bold move.

And now, the look that went down in The Hills history—when Justin Bobby wore combat boots to the beach. Naturally, Lauren brought up this outfit as a means of consoling Audrina when the grungy couple hit a rough patch.

All you have to do is try on the sneakers once, and you’ll understand why: They're almost unreasonably comfortable. But that’s not the only reason why we love them. In addition to their sleek look and comfort-factor, Allbirds has a central focus on sustainability and works with natural materials to minimise the environmental impact. In fact, the brand recently released a new sneaker crafted from a material made out of eucalyptus trees. Intriguing, no?

It could be the style or the sustainability (we’re willing to bet on both), but Allbirds shoes have quickly risen to popularity amongst everyone—including some of our favourite celebrities. While we didn’t need further convincing, these definitely provides us with the proof that Allbirds is definitely worth the hype. It’s inspiring to see a brand with a central focus on sustainability, but it’s almost more inspiring to see how consumers have embraced it. If nothing else, the brand’s popularity is proof that sustainability and fashion can (and should) go hand-in-hand.
