Breaking: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged! (Yes, our entire office collectively gasped.) The couple, who first went public with their relationship in October 2023, took to Instagram today to announce the big news with the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married." Cue the "Love Story" bridge.

The engagement details are still trickling in, but we do know Swift is sporting a cushion-cut diamond (and a gigantic one at that!) set on a yellow-gold band from Artifex Fine Jewelry with a manicure so sheer she could be wearing no polish at all. It’s been a big week for Taylor Swift fans. As a minimalist dresser, I tend to stick to simple pieces—especially in the winter. My outerwear choices typically rotate between a single-breasted wool coat, a supple leather bomber jacket, and a short-haired faux-fur topper. Not only was the pullover red, but it also included burgundy trim, the other color everyone is wearing nonstop this year. In my humble opinion, if you're going to wear skinny jeans, it's best to pair them with something more oversize on top, so Swift and I are clearly on the same page.

The VMAs red carpet wouldn't be anything without a surprise appearance. In true superstar fashion, America's It girl, Taylor Swift, arrived in style on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet. Taylor Swift is currently wrapping up the European leg of the Eras Tour in London, and over the weekend, she stepped out in a look that Swifties are calling Tortured Poets Department coded, and I don't disagree. Others say it's giving Cher from Clueless (also don't disagree). The outfit was a full Vivienne Westwood look, including a jacket-and-skirt set, a ruffled Victorian blouse, and a structured mini bag. Summer is for sundresses, swimsuits, and slip-on shoes, especially when you're traveling constantly like Taylor Swift. The Eras Tour performer was spotted in an easy, breezy off-duty look while hanging out with Travis Kelce and their friends Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.

Sabrina Carpenter is hot off her first-ever Coachella performance. She's recently released a viral music video (yes, I'm referring to "Please, Please, Please" featuring Saltburn's Barry Keoghan), and her song, "Espresso," is considered a strong contender for becoming the song of the summer. If you ask me, the girl can't lose.

Music success aside, Carpenter recently made her runway debut at Vogue World in Paris. During the event, she sashayed around the iconic Place Vendôme wearing a custom Jacquemus look. It was inspired by retro swimwear, and as such, she wore a floor-length red striped skirt with an Old Hollywood headscarf. It was all very chic, but as a beauty editor, I honed in on her wine-colored lipstick.

In case you didn't see Blake Lively numerous times on your TV screen during the Super Bowl perched next to Taylor Swift, she was wearing an Adidas x Balenciaga red tracksuit, and her arms were stacked with Tiffany & Co. bracelets. I'll just say it: Celebrity perfumes aren't what they used to be. (Okay, that's a little dramatic.) I do love a few now from celebs like Ariana Grande, but for the most part, I find myself nostalgic for those memorable and magical scents of the early 2000s when celebrity fragrances were at their peak. My favorite scent memories around that time consist of opening up magazines and smelling the pull-out on the page. That was how I discovered a good majority of the fragrances on this list. It's no secret that Kim Kardashian is a bona fide business mogul now. While her clothing line and skincare line immediately come to mind, most forget that Kardashian dabbled in the world of fragrance. One of her first drops was a self-titled offering with notes of jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, tonka bean, and earthy sandalwood. Never forget Beyoncé's iconic scent Heat. While I would say it's the perfect summer scent with notes of honeysuckle nectar, red vanilla orchid, and neroli, it also makes the perfect evening scent any time of year—it radiants sensual grace, but is never overpowering. I honestly had trouble finding a scent that compares, but the Harmonist's Hypnotizing Fire comes pretty damn close with key notes of praline, patchouli, rose, and vanilla.

It's far more likely to see Taylor Swift in a miniskirt and thigh-high boots than in leggings and sneakers, so when she wears athleisure, it's worth talking about. (Let's face it—we all talk about everything she wears, but I digress.) While heading to another recording session in New York yesterday, Swift traded her usual dressy digs for a comfortable fleece pullover, black leggings, and a pair of rugged sneakers that the fashion crowd would approve of.

While retro and quiet luxury sneakers have been the go-to styles recently, another trend that the fashion crowd is embracing is hiking sneakers (think Salomon XT-6), which is what Swift wore. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Taylor Swift doesn't really do flashy designer items. She also doesn't do campaigns for designer brands, unlike most celebs of her caliber. If I had to guess why, I'd say that it's because she wants to remain relatable to her millions of fans, most of whom are not celebrities. From time to time, she does incorporate some well-chosen designer items into her wardrobe.

Last night, while heading to a recording studio in NYC, Swift carried a Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7 Supple Hobo Bag on her arm. The slouchy tote is a newer iteration of the brand's original Le 5 à 7 shoulder bag, which became an instant sensation when it made its debut in 2021. The larger, sloucher bag has also become an It bag in its own right and is carried by celebs like Hailey Bieber and Laura Harrier. Swift opted for the bag in a rich tan, and this isn't the first time she's carried the bag—she's been photographed with it on several occasions this fall and winter.

At 5'11, Taylor Swift already towers above many of us, but despite that, all of her favorite shoe trends are heels. She looks great in heels, so it makes sense. Much to the delight of all the Swifties out there, she's been out and about a lot this year, with photographers following her every outfit. As an editor who covers lots of celebrity style, I don't think I've missed a Taylor Swift outfit yet this year, and I've been looking for themes.

Swift has changed her personal style off and on over the years, but when she's in an "era", she really stays true to that aesthetic. I don't personally know Swift (unfortunately), but I do think that she's really stayed true to herself this year, and worn what she loves and feels comfortable in.
