As we all know, fashion is constantly changing and evolving to suit the times, but certain things are constant—one being that white dresses will be everywhere every spring and summer no matter where you are in the world. But that doesn't mean there's not room for something a bit different from season to season. This season, a fluctuation is a white-adjacent dress color trend that's also starting to be everywhere—including on celebrities.

The celebrities I'm referring to in this case are Sydney Sweeney and Emily Ratajkowski, who made an appearance together at an event in NYC over the weekend. They clearly coordinated their outfits because both wore pretty buttercream-colored dresses. Sweeney opted for a draped minidress while Ratajkowski went with a '90s-inspired knee-length bodycon dress. Feel free to disagree with me, but I think that rich, creamy dresses look even more expensive than stark white ones and that the soft, glowing hue is even prettier.

Well, for one, the earthy tone pairs incredibly with just about any pastel-forward outfit you can dream of. (Butter yellow! Baby blue! Petal pink!) It's also a timeless, expensive-looking alternative to classic black—you know, if you're itching to slightly switch things up.

At the 10th annual Hollywood Beauty Awards on Sunday, Sweeney supported her longtime hairstylist Glen "Coco" Oropeza (who proceeded to win the Sanna Seppanen Hairstyling Award) wearing a full chocolate-brown ensemble: a sleek pantsuit, a waist-cinching croc corset, and a mani to match. Clearly, Ganzorigt was inspired by the croc-embossed piece for her red carpet nail creation. The mani matches the pattern almost perfectly, as you can see from her Instagram carousel above.

Ganzorigt hasn't revealed the exact tutorial for Sweeney's look, but all you likely need is a sheer base color (or blooming gel, which is a special base coat that causes any color put on top to disperse across the nail) and chocolate-brown nail polish. After painting your base, create horizontal stripes uniformly across the nail plate, making sure you leave space in between each column to create the crocodile-print effect. Let it dry once again, Then follow with your topcoat of choice.

Trust me, the pattern sounds way more difficult than it actually is. In fact, I'd consider it the most effortless of all the animal prints you can paint, as it requires only one polish color. (With tortoiseshell nails, for example, you need at least three.) You don't even need to trace each line perfectly to master the crocodile pattern. In fact, the effect looks even chicer when the nails are mismatched.

If you consider yourself well-versed in nail trends, you might think twice before donning a dark nail color for spring. But let me assure you richer tones like chocolate brown are utterly cool for the season. "It's an anti-trend," celebrity nail artist Julie Kandalec says regarding dark nail polish for spring. "Like, 'I know pastels are usually the trend, but I want to stand out.'" I'd argue there's nothing more attention-stealing than a Sweeney-coded chocolate croc mani.

If you're feeling like we're in a bit of an ankle-boot dry spell, you're not wrong—especially as far as celebrities are concerned. Knee-high boots and flats have reigned supreme this season, but that doesn't mean ankle boots are out by any means. It's a staple shoe style that we all own. If you live in NYC or have ever visited in January, you know that the condition of the sidewalks and streets can be less than ideal. Wet and icy concrete with patches of leftover snow is the norm when it comes to what you're dealing with this time of year. I actually love visiting NYC in January, as the crowds are far smaller, and restaurant reservations are a bit easier to snag. I don't love walking around in the sludge, though, so I dress accordingly. When I saw the outfit Sydney Sweeney wore in snowy NYC earlier this week, my first thought was that I loved her head-to-toe Chloé look, and my second was that I could never bring myself to wear it in the middle of winter in NYC.

The reason behind my bold statement? Sweeney wore a pair of wide-leg light-wash jeans that dragged on the ground. While she looked incredibly cool, as Chloé Creative Director Chemena Kamali intended, there's zero likelihood that the bottom of her jeans made it throughout the day unscathed. Instead, I typically go for jeans in a darker wash that hit closer to the ankle. That said, that's what washing machines are for, so if you want to follow Sweeney's lead and wear your long light-wash jeans on the city streets, everything will be okay. For fear of overcomplicating my already packed morning routine and making myself late, I like to stick to a simple styling template to ease the morning time crunch.

Most recently, this formula has involved a chunky knit that can protect me from the chill, worn with wide-leg trousers and a puddle-proof pair of platform shoes. Now, there's a little wiggle room in this combination, and depending on the forecast—the jumper might be substituted for a boxy tee or a pretty cardigan—but I'm afraid there's no comprising on the trousers and shoes. Stepping out for a walk in London, Daisy Edgar-Jones styled two pieces from British brand Me+Em: the Italian Flannel Wide-Leg Pant (£225) and the Shower-Proof Swing Mac (£495). To complete her outfit, the actor reached for Gucci's Horsesbit Wedge Loafer (£875), a GG Emblem bag (£1610) and looped a GG Marmont Thin Belt (£320) around her waist. Choosing a trench coat (a trusty piece Londoners reach for every spring), Edgar-Jones's low-key outfit leaned into timeless staples that helped her craft an outfit that felt uncomplicated and chic—exactly what I'm going for.

Across the pond, actor Sydney Sweeney stepped out in New York taking a similarly chic approach to her styling. Selecting high-waisted, wide-leg trousers in a light cream shade paired with brown platform boots, Sweeney's clever shoe choice stopped her long trousers from dragging on the ground whilst adding structure to her look. Whilst Edger-Jones went for platform loafers and Sweeney reached for an ankle boot, the styling sentiment remains the same—a platform shoe adds height and dimension to an outfit and makes wearing trousers that touch the floor much less of a risk in these typically wet months.

Up until this year, I don't think I've worn the shoe trend I'm about to discuss since the approximate age of seven, but the fashion world wants us to embrace it again and so I shall. Shoe color trends often reflect the overarching trends of a given season, but one shoe color trend that comes back around every several years stands alone. It's a neutral, but when it's in the form of shoes, it makes a statement. We've spoken a lot about red, burgundy, and silver shoes as of late, but the shoe color trend Sydney Sweeney just wore in Beverly Hills feels familiar yet still fresh. That trend is white shoes, and long gone are the days when they were just reserved for your wedding day.

Every fashion season, one collection catches the attention of celebrities and their stylists. Either one is begging the other to snag them a piece from it to wear, or it's the other way around. It happened with Pierpaolo Piccioli's iconic pink collection for Valentino and both Matthieu Blazy's first and second collections for Bottega Veneta. (Remember the pants-less look on Kendall Jenner? Same.) And then there was Miu Miu's S/S 22 micro miniskirt that everyone from Zendaya to Paloma Elsesser to Nicole Kidman was spotted in. When something is really good and even more relevant to the times, there's high demand, and we're seeing it happen once again right now.

This season, the collection everyone wants is Chemena Kamali's debut offering for Chloé, which many in the industry are crediting for boho's big return—and for good reason. Prior to the brand's show during Paris Fashion Week last season, few brands had made boho look appealing in years. The only people who still really wore the trend were Sienna Miller, who naturally went on to become one of the faces of the collection, and Alexa Chung, who sat front row in a pair of the soon-to-go-viral Chloé clogs. Soon, everyone would desire at least one boho look in their press-tour wardrobe or for their forthcoming red carpet commitments.

The first inkling of buzz around the collection came at the actual show when the entire front row showed up in those aforementioned platform clogs, but Kamali's comeback to Chloé—this is her third time working at the house after she served as a junior designer in the '90s and again under Clare Waight Keller—really kicked off at the Met Gala.

At this year's Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion Met Gala, Kamali showed up hand in hand with Miller as well as Greta Gerwig, Emma Mackey, and Zoe Saldaña. They were all dressed in ultra-boho Chloé, reawakening the trend on fashion's biggest night. Miller wore the most her ensemble: a ruffled ivory-lace gown with her hair down in crimped waves.

Saldaña's look for the Met proved the versatility in Kamali's take on boho, as she chose a simpler sheer chiffon slip dress in terra-cotta and cinched it with another viral accessory from the collection, a belt with Chloé written on it in gold cursive. She finished off the outfit with thigh-high brown boots.

From where I'm standing, though, no celebrity-stylist duo has done more for Chloé's popularity in pop culture than Daisy Edgar-Jones and Dani Michelle. Our July cover star's press tour for Twisters was one of the year's most impressive when it comes to her wardrobe, and the two boho Chloé dresses she wore were her most memorable looks. First, she wore a ruffled minidress with long brass necklaces, brown clogs, and a matching oversize tote bag, setting the internet on fire.

The next day brought with it yet another Chloé F/W 24 ensemble, this time in dusty baby blue and with a large chest cutout and ruffled bell sleeves. The look was paired with thigh-high boots, a statement necklace (they're back too), and black sunglasses. A to-go coffee cup was the only thing that took this look out of the 1970s where it belongs. No one was ready for how stellar these pieces would look off the runway, red carpet, or editorial set. Kamali's collection was, indeed, made for the streets.

But while her latest role as Cecilia in Neon's just-released horror film Immaculate shows Sweeney portraying resilience until the very end, after my hour-long conversation with her following Who What Wear's April cover shoot, I know for a fact that the 26-year-old actor and producer isn't immune to some of the more frightening things in life. To celebrate her new gore-filled flick, I asked Sweeney about all of the things that rattle her, and her answers didn't disappoint. From tight spaces and slasher movies to red carpets and Instagram comments, read all about it below.

Horror movies? What's your favorite type?

I feel like it depends on my mood. I'm really into gore, and I'll want it to be a giant slasher film, or it's like, what's in the darkness? You know? Like, you curl up underneath your blankets and the suspense is killing you and you don't know what's gonna pop out behind the corner.

Confrontation. Are you scared of it?

Am I scared of confrontation? It depends on the subject and with whom.

Is it easier for work or personal?

Yes. Easier for work. 1000%.

Social media rumors?

I mean, at this point, they're just laughable. I can't escape them every single day. It's insane.

Getting stuck on a deserted island?

I think I could survive, so I'm not scared of it.

Large crowds?

Terrified.

Horrible. Get out of them as fast as possible. What about tight spaces?

Hmm, I used to not be scared of tight spaces. But now…

Now that you've watched the opening clip of Immaculate…

Exactly. Now I'm not really for 'em.

Just midsize rooms. Red carpets?

Leading up to them, I am terrified. I get so anxious. I get so nervous. I feel like I'm gonna throw up. It's the worst feeling. Then, the moment you step on them, I'm good. It's this weird thing—you know what's going to happen. It's the same [every time]. There's just this weird anxiety that hits you. I'm always a little wobbly on my feet on the carpet because I'm still a little nervous.

What do you think it is about it?

There are actually a lot of things. One, you can't control the image. When you see a photo in a magazine, there's so much that goes into making that a really good photo. First of all, lighting. Lighting is key, and a lot of times on these carpets, for whatever reason, the lighting is shit. They cannot figure out the lighting or the photographers aren't using flash. So it looks horrible—like absolutely terrible. And people put a lot of hard work into putting a whole look together on a celebrity. You have the tailoring, the designer, the stylists, makeup artists, hair artists—all of it. And then you go to a carpet and the coloring of the backdrop is horrible and then the lighting is terrible. And then people are calling stuff out on social media, being like, Oh, she looks horrible, or, Her makeup's shit, or, Her hair's shit. And it's like, no, it's just because they didn't use flash on a camera. It's as simple as that: There's no flash. And you had overhead lighting. Of course, it's gonna look terrible. I don't care who you are. You could be the most gorgeous human being in the entire world, and it's not going to look great. So that's really hard. And I can't reply that to every comment on social media to get them to understand how it all works. But that's always nerve-racking. You put so much work behind a look and you're so excited and you feel so good, and then the photos are terrible. And that's hard.

I also get so nervous that I'm going to trip and fall all the time because shoes.

Heels…

Also heels. Your feet are dying. But also, a lot of sample shoes that are loaned to stylists or go with a look are a size 38 or 40—a European size—and I'm a 6.5, which I think is a 37. So my feet don't fit in these shoes, so we're stuffing them with toilet paper and adding holes to make the ankles tighter because it's required to wear the shoes. I can't trade the shoes out—I have to wear the shoes no matter what, even if they don't fit me. These designers don't care. So I get so scared that I'm going to trip or my shoe is going to fall off. That's a big anxiety right there.

Well, you never show it. And I watch a lot of red carpets.

While in the French capital for Miu Miu's F/W 24 show, Sweeney showed her support for the brand by attending the event in its designs from head to toe (minus her Calzedonia tights), including an oversize blazer, a two-tone cropped camisole, and crystal-covered white satin underwear. Celebrity stylist Molly Dickson wasn't always going to work in fashion. In college, Dickson majored in advertising, and two weeks before her graduation, she had an "aha" moment and realized that she wanted to work in fashion. "I called my mom. I'm like, 'I do not want to do this. I'm gonna move to New York, and I'm gonna do fashion,'" Dickson said. While it took a little convincing, she eventually persuaded her parents to let her go to Los Angeles after graduation. 

After getting her start working for a small designer and showroom in Los Angeles, Dickson secretly booked a flight to New York to interview with Marie Claire for an internship. Dickson landed the internship and stayed at the publication for two years before she felt like she was ready for a change. "A task that used to take me like two hours, I could literally do it in like two minutes," Dickson said. "I don't like being stagnant. I love to be challenged."

Dickson was hired by celebrity stylist Leslie Fremar and worked with Fremar for seven years. In 2018, Dickson went out on her own and now works with clients such as Sydney Sweeney, Katherine Langford, and Camila Mendes, just to name a few.

For the latest episode of Who What Wear With Hilary Kerr, Dickson shares how she went from North Dakota to New York City to work in fashion, what it was like going out on her own, and more. For excerpts from their conversation, scroll below.

I know that you grew up in North Dakota and that you've mentioned in the past you didn't have a ton of access to fashion where you lived. Can you tell me a little bit about where that initial interest came from?

I grew up on a farm in North Dakota, and our nearest neighbor was a mile away. The nearest store to get a magazine was like 30 minutes away. I was a very, very active kid that did a lot of sports, so we didn't go shopping a ton. We would do one big shopping trip to Minneapolis—the Mall of America—and I loved it. I looked forward to it every year, but I was a very sporty, tomboy kid.

When I got to high school, I started really getting into style, and my mom would be like, "Oh, these are some new trends that we should try." Then I went to college in Minneapolis, majored in advertising, and two weeks before I graduated, I called my mom. I'm like, "I do not want to do this. I'm gonna move to New York, and I'm gonna do fashion." And she's like, "You have no experience. You're not going to New York. We know no one there." I persuaded them to go to L.A., and I had a couple of internships there.

Tell me about your first proper job in the industry.

I graduated college during the recession of '09, so no one was hiring. I also didn't have any experience in fashion. My experience in internships in college was sports marketing. I did two internships in L.A.—one for a small designer and then one for a showroom.

I'm like, "If I really want to do this, I need to move to New York." I really wanted to work at a magazine, so I flew to New York behind my parents' back. I had no money. I was a college grad. My internships in L.A. were unpaid. I had like $500. I flew to New York. I did an interview at Marie Claire magazine. You had to receive college credit to intern, and I'd already graduated. I enrolled back into college [and paid] to get credits to intern for free. It was crazy.

My first big fashion internship was at Marie Claire magazine. I remember walking in, and I was so excited. I'm smiling, and one editor stopped me, and she's like, "It's your first day, isn't it?" I'm like, "Yeah." I'm bright-eyed, smiling. She's like, "Yeah, you're not going to be smiling every day." I'm like, "What?" After a week, I'm like, "Oh my God, this is a lot of hard work."

At what point did you start thinking about the celebrity styling piece of it? I'm curious about what your thought process was like and how you were thinking through everything on a strategic level.

I would like to say it was strategic, but it wasn't. I had been at Marie Claire for maybe two years, and I wasn't being challenged anymore. A task that used to take me like two hours, I could literally do it in two minutes. I don't like being stagnant. I love to be challenged. … I knew the editor above me wasn't going to leave. You couldn't get promoted without a position open above you, so I started looking.

I met with Leslie [Fremar]. I didn't really understand what celebrity stylists do because I'd only really been around editorial, and we hit it off. One of the reasons why I really wanted to work with her was because she seemed so happy in life. She's like, "I love my job. I love my life." I'm like, "Oh my god, I want to be around someone that is so passionate about it and so happy." I left Marie Claire, and I worked with her for … a little over seven years.

You decide to go out on your own. What was the first six months like? How were you thinking about clients?

When I left to go out on my own fully, the only client that I really had was Katherine [Langford]. I knew I needed more clients, but it was hard because all of the publicists and the hair and makeup people knew me as an assistant.

I met with a few publicists, and I'm like "Guys, I'll do anything if you want to spec shoot." A spec shoot is when you do a photo shoot when the actress and the photographer and hair and makeup and the stylist all just want to get content, and no one gets paid.

I had to invest a couple thousand dollars on each spec shoot to get content into meet these young actresses. That's how I got a few young clients through these spec shoots. I saw it as … my college. After about a month of being on my own, I worked with Scarlett Johansson. I mean, I love her so much. She took a huge chance on me. They hired me to do her for a music video with Pete Yorn, and it went really, really well. After that, we started working together. She put me on the map. Without her, I wouldn't have had the clout.

There's one thing that both frequent fliers and trepidacious travelers can agree on: No one wants to spend more time than needed at the airport. This holds true, especially during the holiday travel season when security lines are long, and waiting to use the restroom can take even longer.

As I'm sure you're aware, Sydney Sweeney has been on a media blitz supporting her upcoming film, Anyone But You. She's stepped out in several outfits, each one better than the next. And it seems like her fans are eating it up. For instance, one photo of Sweeney we posted on the Who What Wear Instagram page quickly racked up over 23,000 likes. One outfit, however, stuck out to me: her ShuShu/Tong dress, seen below, which she styled with knee-high socks.

The promotional tour in NYC this week for the new film Anyone But You was a Sydney Sweeney fashion show, start to finish. She and stylist Molly Dickson came up with more than a dozen incredible looks for Sweeney's press appearances, but it's her legging outfit to fly from NYC to LAX yesterday that has my attention at the moment. 

I always like to see how celebrities style leggings years after they became "trendy". Sweeney, for one, opted to pair her black leggings for the flight with a designer It item: Prada's cropped puffer. Prada and Miu Miu puffer jackets are as covetable as puffer jackets get, and if I were to spend over $2k on a puffer, I'd definitely choose one of these. Sweeney completed the trendy travel outfit with a pair of white crew socks and white sneakers.

In all honesty, I've been anticipating a shift of the pendulum away from baggy pants and jeans lately. It's been the reigning pant trend for quite some time now, and a shift seems inevitable, but Anne Hathaway and Sydney Sweeney just pretty much solidified that the time has not come for baggy pants to fall from favor. In fact, their chosen pants proved quite the opposite.

Both actresses have been in NYC promoting their latest projects this week and both were photographed wearing very wide-leg pants. The word "baggy" doesn't even do these pants justice. Hathaway wore a pair of white wide-leg pants with a purple cardigan while Sweeney wore ultra-wide-leg jeans with a black vest and floor-length coat. The shoes they wore hardly matter because you can barely see them.

One theory I have is that pants will get as big as possible before we revert back to skinny pants (or, big pants just might be here to stay). Time will tell. In the meantime, keep scrolling to shop ultra-wide-leg pants for yourself.

When it comes to airport dressing, I'm a leggings girl through and through. It's hard to beat the comfort and ease of leggings for a long flight, however, if I ever wear denim while flying, there's only one style I'd consider: baggy jeans. Who would board a flight wearing rigid denim? Certainly not me. Sydney Sweeney, for one, seems to be on the same page.

Photographed at LAX, Sweeney wore a laid-back look comprised of a crewneck sweater, loose, cuffed jeans, and platform boots. We all know Sweeney can shut down a red carpet, but her chill off-duty outfits are much more approachable and easier to re-create. As you probably know, baggy jeans are hugely popular right now, so not only are they a comfortable choice for flying, but they're also super trendy. Lash serums can definitely be tricky. Believe me, I spent a lot of my time and energy trying different ones until I found a few that really work. Although it took me a while, I now have a solid handful of serums that really help out my normally short, sparse lashes. One of them also just happens to be a favorite of Sydney Sweeney's. She revealed once in an interview that after using RapidLash's Eyelash Enhancing Serum ($35), her eyelashes "started growing like crazy." Even she isn't immune to TikTok—she started using it after discovering a review of the serum there and hasn't stopped using it since.

Naturally, I knew I had to try this one out for myself to see if it's worthy of adding to my rotation. If you're curious about my thoughts on this one, keep scrolling. I'm sharing all the details below.

About the Formula

What I really love about this formula is that it contains amino acids, biotin, and peptides, which help strengthen and promote healthy growth. It does contain a synthetic prostaglandin analogue, which have been shown to stimulate hair-follicle activity. (You can find them in a host of effective eyelash serums, including the prescription Latisse.) Some people avoid lash serums with prostaglandin due to potential side effects like irritation and periorbital fat loss (aka fat loss around the eyes), but rest assured I didn't experience any of those reactions. In fact, I love how RapidLash doesn't irritate my eye area, which can be really sensitive.

The price tag is a bit high at $35, but it's actually still cheaper than a lot of other formulas on the market, and you can get it without a prescription (unlike Latisse).

My Experience and Results

Before trying this lash serum, I was using GrandeLash's Lash Enhancing Serum ($68). It definitely worked well for me, but I felt like my results started to plateau after four or so months. After swapping my go-to for RapidLash, I finally started seeing a difference once again. In fact, I actually noticed that my lashes were already a bit longer after one week of using this. I'd say that's pretty impressive!

It's always a bit hard to tell if a lash serum is working those first few weeks because your natural lashes don't look dramatically longer yet, but you can more easily see some length has been added when you put on mascara. That was certainly the case for me, and those effects only grew stronger with time. So here's my official verdict: If your lashes could use a bit of extra help, I say give this one a go. I don't think you'll regret it.

Usually, when you think of Venice Film Festival fashion, casual airport looks aren't the ones that stand out. In case you were wondering which pair of jeans you should add to your wardrobe next, Sydney Sweeney is here to provide a little help with that—whether she meant to or not. Sweeney was photographed in Malibu this week wearing the perfect pair of baggy, low-rise jeans, and they retail for just $138. (In this day and age, that's considered a deal for denim.)

The jeans and cropped tank she wore with them are from stylist Molly Dickson's new capsule collection for Madewell. Celebrities might have access to the very best dermatologists, expensive skincare and luxurious treatments (it takes a village to look red-carpet ready, after all), but you might be surprised to know that they actually have a few affordable skincare brands amongst their product arsenal. Yes, really. I'm talking under-£20 brands that you'll find dermatologists and makeup artists quick to recommend to their patients and clients, too.

One of those affordable brands that celebrities flock to is Avène. The brand is a French-pharmacy skincare staple that has long been a favourite of those with sensitive skin. As a beauty editor who experiences eczema and acne, I often have the brand's staple products on standby for flares, which were recommended to me by a number of dermatologists. But the beauty of this brand is that the products really work across skin types and conditions, and it seems that celebrities such as Hailey Bieber, Sofia Richie Grainge and Kendall Jenner can't get enough either.
