This cult favourite serum is renowned for its ability to brighten dull skin and smooth rough texture. The star ingredient is glycolic acid, a powerful chemical exfoliant which works by dissolving the dead skin cells that clog pores and contribute to uneven tone and texture. 

Although it contains a lower strength of glycolic acid (4% versus 7%), this actually makes this serum a more sensitive skin-friendly alternative to the above, as well as a more budget-friendly dupe. Glycolic acid is fast-acting and effective, but it can cause irritation, especially if your skin is sensitive or you're new to using acid exfoliants. 

Hyaluronic acid is renowned for its ability to draw moisture into the skin, but did you know that there's more than one type of hyaluronic acid? This serum actually contains three weights of the ingredient, which means it has the ability to target three different layers of the skin for instant and long-lasting hydration.

This dupe only features two weights of hyaluronic acid, but it does include additional skin-soothing ingredients which make it a great all-rounder for all skin types. "Those with dry skin are ideal candidates for a hydrating serum but all skin types will benefit," says Khorana. As far as glycolic treatments go, this one is definitely on the much more expensive side of things. However, coming from someone who doesn't usually get on too well with glycolic acid, even I can admit it leaves my skin looking clearer and more radiant.

I'm sure you've heard it before, but regular exfoliation equals more radiant skin. I haven't found an exfoliator I like as much as this, and it's been six years since I've started using it. What I love most is that it's a peeling gel and not harsh at all. I apply a thin layer to my face and let it sit for a few minutes before massaging it in a circular motion. As the gel is rubbed, it rolls up off the skin, picking up the outermost layer of dead skin cells. Gross? Yes. But totally necessary to do a couple of times a week to keep my complexion youthful-looking. 

Full disclosure: I've only been using this for three weeks, but man, it has made a huge difference in my overall skin tone and texture. The first few days my skin was pilling (a lot) and I had a few more blemishes than normal, but I think my skin was just adjusting. Anyway, it does a whole bunch of things because it's formulated with antioxidants, vitamins C and E, and retinol. This helps minimize pores, brighten dark spots, and fade fine lines and wrinkles. It's super lightweight, spreads easily, and dries to a taut shield, so you should definitely follow up with a moisturizer.

I'm mad at myself for caving and buying this last year because it's really pricy, but it's also really, really effective, so I try and remind myself of that every time I have to replenish it. This stuff is magic in a bottle, probably because it uses over 22 active ingredients that work in synergy to help fight signs of aging and create a clear, even-toned firm and radiant complexion. I put a few drops into the palm of my hand and press the product into my skin for a few seconds and repeat, pushing and pressing it in on my entire face. It also smells dreamy. I will never say enough good things about it.

I've used this cream on and off over the years but always come back to it when the temperature starts to dip. It's heavier than I typically go for, but when my skin feels extra tight, dry, or flaky, this stuff brings it back to life and makes my overall complexion more supple.

The absolute worst thing you can do to your skin is not wear sunscreen. Seriously. I put my skin through so much shit growing up and really wish I listened to literally anyone who told me I should wear SPF daily. I probably wouldn't have as many sunspots had I listened! My SPF of choice is this because it goes on easily, doesn't leave a weird white cast, and I can still apply my makeup without it getting all creased and weird-looking. 

I feel like as soon as I turned 25, my eyes completely changed. Some days, I wake up totally normal, and other days, my eyes are bloodshot or swollen. Aging is weird, everyone! But this stuff works in like a minute and always makes the white of my eyes so much clearer and brighter. 

If you're in your 20s, you should be using some form of retinoid or retinol solution if you want to see results, no ifs ands or buts. Retinoid and retinol are both vitamin A derivatives, but retinoids have a higher concentration of the active ingredient, so it's a lot stronger. Straight-up retinoid hasn't worked for me, but this high-dose retinol serum has done wonders for my skin. It's lightweight, not drying at all, and delivers results without any drawbacks, really. 

Vitamin C is basically a dream ingredient to use for delivering age-defying results, but combining it with banana powder? That's a whole other story. This eye cream is a brightening powerhouse and I always seem to come back to it. It helps reduce discoloration and signs of aging while just brightening up the entire eye area. 

Eyecare is a big thing for me. I love throwing these on while doing other things on my to-do list. They're infused with a potent peptide ingredient that brightens, reduces the appearance of puffy, sagging skin, and even prevents the appearance of wrinkles. 

There's nothing healthy-looking about dry, cracked lips, but this treatment keeps my pout at its best. It's soothing, nourishing, and leaves a thin layer of coverage that looks like a gloss. People always compliment me when I'm wearing it. 

It's been said that one of the things that can give your age away is your neck. I don't have any good reason as to why I never really paid much attention to mine earlier in my 20s, but I 100% regret it (though this serum has helped). I'm not obsessing over the little horizontal lines nearly as much as I used to, so there's that. This serum is a delightful blend of things like rose-hip seed, sea buckthorn, caffeine crystals, and more that help tighten, brighten, heal, and nourish the skin. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not as diligent about keeping the rest of my skin in tip-top shape as I am with my face, but dry brushing a few times a week before hopping in the shower makes all the difference. This is one of my favorite tools of all time. It's a facial scraper that increases blood circulation, which increases elastin and collagen. It also helps with lymphatic drainage. My skin always looks way more lifted and brighter after using it.

Like I've said before, one of the best things you can do to reveal younger-looking skin is to exfoliate, and this micro-roller helps to do just that. It has tiny little needles that gently exfoliate the top layer of skin, which helps boost radiance, decrease the appearance of dull skin, and makes your complexion look so much smoother, plumper, and firmer. I try—keyword, try—to use it at least once a week.

This is another little facial massager I swear by. I try and use it every night and always feel like my skin looks more awake and less dark and dull. It also just feels good at the end of a long day.

I tend to stay away from foundation (unless it’s my beloved Armani below) and prefer something that’s more lightweight and hydrating like this tinted moisturizer. "A delicious, fast-absorbing oil that smells like a Jolly Rancher and also helps clear breakouts and clogged pores? Seems impossible. I was so skeptical of this exotic green elixir—the slippery texture and sweet scent seem like something that would break you out rather than clear you up. To my delight, the product sinks in quickly, and its gentle 1.5% salicylic acid visibly works to decongest the little clogged pores I get around my nose and chin. It's not the strongest dose of BHA in the world, so it takes a couple nights to really produce results, but damn, when it does, my skin comes out so beautifully clear and glowy." — Amanda

"I don't know about you, but I have a separate stash of products for whenever my skin decides to be on especially bad behavior. And whenever I'm dealing with a frustrating deluge of zits, this mask is one of my favorite antidotes in said stash. I definitely notice that it helps dry out and banish my existing blemishes faster than when I forget to use it, and I'm convinced it slows the formation of new ones. (Breakouts are such a vicious cycle.) My one issue with this mask, however, is the smell. Since the star and most strategic ingredient is sulfur, I realize this is par for the course and part of the formula's efficacy. "Okay, this is so hard for me. If it were up to this product's brightening and radiance-boosting power alone, I would literally give it 10 stars. But for some reason, I have issues with it clogging my pores, and I have to be honest about that. I plan on asking my go-to aesthetician what she thinks is the exact culprit in the ingredient list (my skin is super, super finicky and prone to congestion), but for most other people, I honestly think this is one of the best vitamin C brightening serums on the market. "I love eye cream. And since I have breakout-prone, easily irritated skin, it's one of the only types of skincare products I feel like I can try with zero abandon or worry regarding how it will affect my skin. I've tried (and regularly use) so many eye creams, but I always find myself coming back to this one. It's a cheaper dupe for this amazing but very, very spendy one from Révive, and it's the first one I recommend to friends and family if they're complaining about puffiness, circles, or fine lines. "Retinol is one of the most powerful breakout- and wrinkle-fighting ingredients, which almost all skin-health experts recommend, but certain forms of it can make your face peel. This luxurious oil provides all the same benefits without the risk of irritation using an ingredient called trans-retinol ester—plus blue tansy, which is really soothing and feels amazing on the skin. This product would be really well suited to sensitive skin types prone to acne and redness who are looking to treat their skin for signs of aging without making it angry. After a few nights of use, I did notice more radiant, youthful-looking skin. "So here's a fun fact: This is actually the first-ever retinol I've used regularly (I know, bad beauty editor). In all honesty, I thought I would hate it but disgruntledly agreed to test it since Amanda asked me to review all the Sunday Riley products I have in my possession, and I still hadn't tried this launch. In hindsight, I'm so sad I didn't start using it sooner. I've been applying it a couple of nights a week after I cleanse without layering anything underneath or on top. Every morning, I wake up with what seems like a brighter, smoother, and far more even complexion. I've been struggling with some stubborn acne scarring around my mouth, and I'm completely dumbstruck by its efficacy in helping lighten my areas of pigmentation. This serum hasn't irritated my skin at all, which has always been one of my main fears surrounding retinol, and the consistency is so soft and dreamy. "This is one of Sunday Riley's priciest formulas (and perhaps one of the buzziest), so I had high expectations for this all-in-one AHA serum. According to the fine print, it specifically targets dark spots, pores, and wrinkles by utilizing a high-potency form of lactic acid to exfoliate away the dead skin cells that make our complexion look dull or congested. As the brand recommends, I've been alternating this with the A+ Retinol every other night so that I'm lifting away the debris the night after the retinol has worked its turnover magic."This product is great on its own, but combined with the retinol, it's the ultimate power couple. I've gotten a few facials recently, which could be a contributing factor, but my skin hasn't felt so soft, smooth, clear, and naturally luminous since I started using this serum regularly at night. My only qualm is that I'm not used to using an exfoliating agent like this as a last step before bed, and it can feel a bit prickly and stingy. "There's a lot to like about this brightening moisturizer: the rich (but not greasy) formula, which is super hydrating and great for dry or winter weather; the 5% dose of vitamin C; the energizing citrus scent; and the gently exfoliating and calming plant extracts, which help the actives absorb while keeping the skin protected and non-irritated. My three-star rating is simply because I personally prefer to get higher doses of my active ingredients in serum form rather than cream form and then use a more affordable moisturizer on top.
