Just like the Demi flats I'm loyal to, this style has a rounded toe box, but unlike the Demi, a scrunched back and low-profile silhouette make it a bit more editorial for those who are nervous about wearing traditional Parisian-style ballet flats with a bow on the front. The result is a cool-girl take on the flat shoe style that feels more akin to The Row than Carel.

I've only owned leather shoes from Margaux, so trying out the brand's suede options was exciting for me. Just like all of my other Margaux shoes, I have the Parra in a wide fit. Especially with a narrow, pointed tip, it's best to size up half a size and make sure you're taking your true foot width into account. I took my true size, and they slightly pinch me in the back, so keep the silhouette in mind when you're ordering. This morning, however, as I scrolled through newly released images from last night's Serpentine Summer Party, I was genuinely taken aback. No, it wasn't an obscure haute couture creation that stopped me in my tracks. Instead, it was my long-time style icon, Alexa Chung, wearing the one shoe trend I never expected to see her embrace.
