In my early 20s, I spent a year attending university in the south of France. Almost as soon as I had dropped my bags, I headed out to find a local café for a quick coffee and some style spotting, and any time that I wasn't studying, I could be found there, taking inspiration from the locals.

Style Notes: When heading into the store, the only piece I knew I definitely had to try on was this pinstripe set. Earlier this spring, I tried on the matching tailored trousers, which were the perfect fit, shape and silhouette for me, so naturally I wanted to see if the shorts matched the polished appeal. And they did. Crisp pleats and a cuffed hem complement the smart pinstripe fabric, allowing the look to be suitable for work as well as an elegant lunch date.

Of course, the matching top sealed the deal for me. A co-ord is one of my most relied upon summer purchases for not only the ready-made outfit it forms, but the versatility when each piece is mixed and matched with the rest of our wardrobes. For this set, I took my usual sizes, and it fit perfectly. Style Notes: Whether you're navigating the cobbled streets of Provence in search of a croissant or seeking out a matcha in central London, the easiest outfit blueprint for summer comes in the form of a throw-on dress and flats.

Light linen primes this mini dress for the warmest days, and the shift silhouette brings a classic edge. Here, I've tried a striking blue shade, but the dress comes in a range of colourways, including a gingham version that is next up on my wish list. I was only able to get my hands on the size 10, but I would take my regular size 8 in this.

Turning to a French classic, I opted for a sweet ballet flat to complete the ensemble. Woven styles are a key buy of the summer season, and the elegant almond toe with the raffia and leather composition drew me in. Again, I took my regular size and have to note just how comfortable these are.

3. Pretty Blouse + Light Trousers + Sandals

Style Notes: It's clear by now that we're in for a pretty blouse summer. Boho motifs are cropping up on some of the most romantic blouses around right now, and of course, Sézane excels in this too. Here I tried the Nele shirt, a soft organic cotton style that has all the markings of a treasured vintage piece. Featuring frills, pleating and intricate embroidery, this is a particularly joy-filled blouse.

Whilst I'd also pair this with a classic white skirt or denim cut-offs, I had heard great things about the Matheo trousers. Truthfully, they lived up to the hype. Once again, the brand brings precise tailoring together with a wide leg silhouette, and the fabric falls just right for a slight puddle effect. It's worth noting I'm 5'2", so most trousers are a bit long on me. If you're the same, a local dry cleaner will be able to take a few inches off the hem easily!

Finally, I turned back to the Adeline sandals I'd worn earlier for an understated finishing touch. To take this look up a notch, I'd swap in the Paula Babies—another Sézane standout I adore—that are elevated, classic and come in a range of dreamy shades and prints.

A a lover of the colder season's I'm in full winter mode. I've already considered a range of outfits I'm eager to put together to embrace the drop in temperatures, from sleek tailoring looks to cosy cashmere outfits and, of course, some denim moments too. Each of the outfits I've formulated for the new season require one final piece to complete, and that's a chic knit for wearing on its own and layering. Enter Sézane's Gaspard Cardigan.

You may already be aware of the Gaspard cardigan. It's a piece that consistently shows up on my social feeds, worn by some of the most stylish people around, and is even a favourite amongst our readers. With such strong backing, along with the brand's French appeal, I knew this was a piece I wanted to get my hands on.

Alongside its noteworthy boho pieces, Sézane's takes staple pieces and elevates them through composition and silhouette. The first thing to peak my interest was the design. When separating great pieces from the good, its the small details that make all the difference. At first, I thought that the knit may be itchy, but when on, the mix of super kid mohair, baby alpaca and polyamide come together to create a supremely cosy cardigan. In terms of sizing, I originally went for my usual size, small, which did fit well but was slightly looser than I was looking for. I sized down to the XS and found this the perfect fit for a more streamlined silhouette (as you can see below).

My Review: Putting together three spring-ready outfits with a French edge was a total breeze. Sézane has a distinct way of bringing together staple silhouettes with a touch of French influence that makes them supremely elegant, put-together and easy to style. Naturally, this includes a spring-shower-ready trench coat, smart tailored trousers and elegant heels. Spring is prime time to pull out our favourite skirts, and given that my skirt collection is lacking, I knew that a languid maxi with a French lace finish would upgrade my looks perfectly.

To really play with textures, the brand's iconic Will Jacket in sumptuous suede is the ideal outer layer, accented by a simple basket bag that will be a trusted companion throughout the warmer months. Alongside, there's a selection of accessories to complete these elegant and easy-to-wear looks for office days, coffee dates, spring picnics and plenty of other occasions. For reference, I tend to wear an 8 (EU 36/small) on top and 10 (EU 38/medium) on the bottom.

My Review: The first item I picked up was the Clyde Trench Coat. Years after its release, this trench remains a timeless staple for the milder months, ready to become a wardrobe hero when spring rolls around (and knowing the British weather, destined to be worn on repeat until the end of autumn). It certainly didn't disappoint. I chose a size 10, my usual choice in outerwear, and the fit was spot on. Whilst Sézane hones in on the classic design of a trench, the finer details are what makes this coat constantly sell out. The placement of the shoulder seams gives a relaxed feel rather than a structured silhouette, adding to the ease of the piece, whilst a checked lining gives a playful nod to the brand's French heritage.

A delicate guipure lace shirt was next to call my name, intricately woven to bring a contrasting texture to a classic button-down design, and whilst it has no lining, the placement means you can wear this with a nude bra and still feel put-together. A sharp tailored trouser is one of my most reliable staples, and when building a new-season wardrobe, sticking to designs that you already feel your best in will ensure you make the most of them. Here, navy pinstripes complement the white of the shirt and the beige of the trench, introducing a nice contrast between the smooth cotton, textured lace and patterned stripes. Both the shirt and trousers fit true to size.

To finish, it had to be a Mary Jane. Bringing a polished finish, a little bit of height and a surprising amount of comfort, these are like a classic yet on-trend finishing touch to complete the French-inspired look. Here, I also took my regular shoe size. This is the kind of look I'd wear when heading to the office or on a shopping trip. Both demand I have a coffee in hand, so a hands-free crossbody bag made from smooth leather and roomy enough for my essentials is the perfect choice. Better still, the strap can be tucked away so the bag can be cradled in your hand or tucked under the arm, as I have above.

2. Suede Jacket + White Tee + Lace Skirt + Basket Bag

My Review: The Will Jacket is a piece I've not only spotted on stylish people but which comes editor-recommended, too. It's my idea of a dream spring jacket, with spacious patch pockets that accent either side of the shirt-like design and a line of buttons should you want to wear it buttoned-up. The classic tan colourway was definitely a contender, but as my preferred size (small) wasn't available, I went for this gorgeous olive green.

Truthfully, I'm not much of a skirt person. I'd never found a style that I felt truly comfortable in, but the intricate guipure lace on this one immediately drew me in. The silhouette is a standout: a languid maxi style with unexpected soft pleats in a fresh white shade that convinced me it was time to embrace this elegant wardrobe addition. Whilst heavily detailed, it doesn't feel too heavy, and I can already picture so many outfits that will include this skirt through spring and summer. Plus, I can pair it with the beautiful matching shirt from my first look, adding mules for an elegant garden-party look. Here, I took my regular size 10, and at 5'2", the length was ankle-skimming when worn high-waisted.

I can picture this outfit with easy sandals when warm days are fully underway, but for a bit of colour play, I tried on these butter-yellow shoes. Taking inspiration from stylish French women, I added a miniature basket bag to complete the look. This one comes with longer straps to wear over the shoulder or crossbody, but I also love the look of it toted in hand.

My Review: As someone who wears jeans more than anything else, I had to put Sézane's denim to the test. It's a fabric that excels in the spring months, and this pair is crafted from 99% organic cotton with 1% elastane for a touch of stretch. The high-rise waist sat comfortably as I took my regular size (28) with a wide-leg silhouette that will be so wearable with the rest of my wardrobe. At 5'2", most jeans I try come up long, and those taller than me will appreciate the extra length that can easily be removed for us petite people with a quick trip to a local dry cleaner.

Here, I've paired the jeans with the brand's beloved Gaspard cardigan, a cosy knit with a striking scoop neckline that can be worn as a regular cardi or turned around with the buttons at the back for a soft knitted top. The silhouette is relaxed, and for the look I wanted, I sized down to an XS for a slightly more fitted feel. At first touch, I thought it might feel itchy when on, but the mix of super kid mohair, baby alpaca and polyamide come together to form a supremely soft knit.

When I can't decide what to wear, I rely on jeans and a cardigan, and the pairing is sure to feel considered with a smattering of accessories. The Taylor Belt ties in all the brown tones, and I love that the brand offers its belts in different sizes to ensure the best fit. For an on-trend touch, I chose the python-print Matilda Ballerinas, pairing a trending print with a classic French-girl shoe.

Finally, this bag deserves a moment. Crafted from refined cowhide leather, it brings a refined finishing touch to this pared-back look. The glossy burgundy shade is even better in person, like a rich merlot. The strap is adjustable depending on how you want to wear it, and it has plenty of space without feeling oversized. The only thing I love more than award season? Tomato season! This time of year, we're getting a double dose on the red carpet. Amongst her many other achievements, Catherine, Princess of Wales has amassed a loyal fanbase for her expertly tailored and ever-flattering outfit choices. This week she caught our attention once again for her effortlessly chic and very French styling of a knitted skirt set from Sézane. Visiting Nottingham Trent University to learn about its mental-health support facilities as part her World Mental Health Day engagements, the Princess styled a neatly fitting beige jumper with a co-ordinating knitted skirt from the French brand. Featuring five buttons that climb from the wrist to the forearm and a chic crew-neck cut, the jumper sat perfectly atop the matching midi skirt, and Middleton finished her look with beige court shoes.

A two-step trick that fashion editors use for a quick and perfectly pulled-together look, we've seen knitted skirt sets become more popular of late, with brands such as Mango, COS and now Sézane producing chic, quiet-luxury iterations. Wearing hers with pared-back, tonal accessories, Middleton opted for a top-handle beige bag and pearl drop earrings. She called upon her tried-and-true blowdry for soft waves.

The perfect autumn dress must tick a few boxes. We're looking for a lightweight knit, a slouchy fit, a short length that we can pair with or without tights and a classic print that can be dressed up or down. In Sézane's Leotine dress, we have found all of the above.

Les Francaises have a knack for making everything look as easy as un, deux, trois. From their no-makeup makeup to the breathy way they draw out their ouis, French women seem to have being effortless cornered. After my first winter in Paris, I picked up a few tips to make cold-weather dressing more fun—as well as a shearling coat and pair of camel riding boots that I still own today (after all, practice makes perfect.)
