Running shorts are the kind of thing I buy for function, not fashion. I look for lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics, comfortable waistbands, and silhouettes that allow for freedom of movement. That said, I'm not one to turn down an opportunity to make athletic clothes look cute, so I'm grateful to Rita Ora for the inspiration.

Ora was just photographed in New York City wearing a cheerful, colorful outfit that's an amazing antidote to boring black gymwear. She wore a Polo Ralph Lauren Iconic Cotton Chino Ball Cap ($50) in a cherry-red color that matched her sports bra and bike shorts. Next, she layered on yellow Adidas running shorts that were color-coordinated to her Marni sunglasses. According to Nguyen, face primers allow for smoother makeup application and help promote the longevity of your makeup when applied correctly. Put simply, you should be applying your primer anywhere you notice your makeup shifting or sliding throughout a day's wear. "You can apply primer to certain areas of your face where the skin tends to be more oily, such as the T-zone, or you can apply it all over your face," explains Nguyen. Who wants to waste your favorite blushes, foundations, and concealers when you can trust they'll stay put with a little help from a great primer?

Face primer is truly the "glue" that holds your entire makeup look together and keeps you from having to reapply products, so knowing when to apply the primer can also affect the final result of your makeup look. Nguyen recommends using face primer only after you apply your favorite moisturizer—think of primer as the base on which you'll build the rest of your makeup on.

Applying the Product

Nguyen's top primer trick for application? Correctly identify what primer will best cater to your skin type. Depending on your skin type, a primer can help reduce or even erase dryness, discoloration, hyperpigmentation, and other pesky imperfections that can alter the look of your complexion. Some primers can also help those with oily skin. Primer is truly a miracle product in that it not only helps create your makeup look but also helps ensure longer wear. As you try different primers, pay special attention to how your primer of choice responds to your makeup lineup. If it's pilling or clumping beneath your base, reconsider your application process (using your hands versus a brush) and the product's formula.

Last month, I tapped a celebrity stylist to let me in on a Hollywood style secret. I asked her which denim brands celebs actually buy for themselves, as opposed to pieces that are gifted or chosen by stylists. For this story, I wanted to continue the theme and find out which leggings reign supreme, so I did a ton of my own research and came up with five brands that celebrities love to wear while off duty.

Though summer doesn’t officially start until June, our celebrity-bikini-watch efforts are already in full swing. Anyone who knows anything about fashion can agree on one thing: It's cyclical. The latest casualties of post-aught consumerism hit this week like a one-two punch: first, the shuttering of storied department store Barneys New York, followed by the announcement that Zac Posen was ending his eponymous label and would not be producing his recently shown S/S 20 collection.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is one of the biggest events of the fashion calendar and unsurprisingly, the red carpet attracts a long list of celebrities.

This year, the VS show took place in New York City and the red carpet saw the likes of Kris Jenner and Yolanda Hadid—who are attending to support their daughters Bella, Gigi and Kendall—stop by to show off their sartorial best. Performer Rita Ora also walked the carpet, but it was Olivia Palermo's relaxed black velvet suit that really caught our attention.

Actors and actresses showed an impressive level of unity at the Golden Globes earlier this month, with the red carpet turning into a sea of black looks in honor of the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund. At this weekend's Grammy Awards, celebrities will be showing solidarity for the movement in a different way: by wearing white roses.

As Billboard reports, "The planned demonstration was put together by Roc Nation senior VP Meg Harkins and Karen Rait, rhythmic promotion at Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records, after realizing that 'Music's Biggest Night' was coming without any plan in place to show support for the movement against sexual harassment." So far, musicians like Rita Ora, Kelly Clarkson, Halsey, and Rapsody have all jumped on board with the symbolic gesture. 

And why were white roses selected? Billboard explains: "They chose the white rose because it is a practical and traditional accessory with a symbolic color: The suffragettes wore white during their protests and, more recently, Hillary Clinton wore white at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, says Harkins." We look forward to seeing the movement honored and supported in a meaningful way this weekend.

Coming soon: Mark your calendars: VH1 has just released the premiere date for the reboot of America's Next Top Model. The show will be coming back on December 12, but it won't be anything like past seasons. Besides its new network, it will also have a new host: Rita Ora will be replacing Tyra Banks.(But don't fret, as the supermodel will still be producing the show and making "surprise appearances throughout the season," according to VH1.) Rita Ora has been working with Adidas for two years now, but we think the collaboration may have just reached its sartorial peak. Dubbed the Color Paint Pack, her latest collection features two cool, artsy interpretations of the brand’s most iconic sneakers: the Stan Smiths and the Superstars.

Featuring a unique paint-by-numbers pattern, the shoes offer a partially blank canvas that’s designed to leave the rest up to your imagination. (DIY lovers, this should be music to your ears.) If you want to get your hands on a pair of the shoes, you’ll have to wait a few more days: Ora’s latest collection will be launching on Thursday, August 18. Everyone from celebrities to retailers agrees that off-the-shoulder tops are the biggest trend of the season. So you've heard the saying about seeing the world through rose-coloured glasses, but it turns out the world looks pretty great through yellow and blue lenses too. Another year, another stellar Glastonbury. While we love the festival for its music, much like any other big event on the calendar it's also a place for some supreme A-list fashion spotting. But this year there were no flower crowns, no impractically long maxi dresses dragging in the mud, or any other silly kind of attire. Instead, celebs were opting for a much more practical approach to their festival-wear. While Ora might be going for the more adventurous approach with the fishnet tights, she's still wearing a rather sensible waterproof over the top (we're calling it the Balenciaga effect). As for Mary Charteris, the leather jacket, denim skinnies and wellies are classic festival attire.
