In the modern world, sports aren't just about what happens on the court, field, or track. Much of the buzz around athletes actually takes place before their events—that is, when they arrive at their respective venues and showcase their latest fashion creations. In basketball, that's referred to as a tunnel 'fit; in Formula One, a paddock 'fit; and so on. What athletes wear when they're not in uniform matters, especially to fans who might never get to speak to their heroes. Clothes are the perfect form of communication—a window into who your favorite athlete is and what they stand for. That's what Go Sports is all about. Yes, we care about box scores, the results of Free Practice 1 (even if it is at 3 a.m.), and RHOSLC-level rivalries, but today, sports fashion matters too. We're not ashamed to say so.

According to Sports Illustrated, WNBA point guard for the New York Liberty and University of Oregon legend Sabrina Ionescu was responsible for the third most-worn basketball shoe in the NBA this past season. Her Nike Sabrina 3s were played in for a total of 26,125 minutes, with wearers including Steph Curry, Derrick White, and more. The only styles worn more? The Kobe 5s and 6s, created by the late Kobe Bryant, one of Ionescu's biggest mentors, in collaboration with Nike during his storied career in the NBA. Ionescu's 1s (2023) and 2s (2024) were just as popular, both in the NBA and the WNBA.

This morning, her fourth Signature shoe, the Sabrina 4s, debuted, continuing her journey with Nike and no doubt ushering in a new favorite among star players across the basketball landscape. It's the partnership's most innovative collection yet, according to Nike, with "a TPU FlyPlate inspired by the feel of a sprinter's launch off the starting blocks." Nike engineers then reworked the technology to gear it toward basketball. "Together with a responsive forefoot Air Zoom unit and plush Cushlon 3.0 midsole, the technology provides the support and stability needed for quick reaction times on the court," Nike stated in a press release.

How does it feel to be releasing a fourth signature shoe and collection?

It's an honor. I can't believe we're on four. Time has just like flown by, but every single one has been so meaningful, and we've been able to create so much change, so it's an honor. I'm so blessed to be in this position—to be on the fourth—to continue to improve and want to get better every single year with the Signature line. So I'm excited for the world to be able to put them on their feet really soon.

What’s been the biggest takeaway from your experience creating now four signature shoes and collections with Nike?

You can't please everyone. At least for me, I am always like, okay, I want to create the best shoe for everybody. And then, so many people have so many different needs, and their feet are different, and what they like and what they don't like. So I think it's just been the understanding of you can't please everyone, and you just have to go out and do your best in terms of what works for you, what you think will work for the majority of basketball players—young and old—and how you can continue to improve every year. But it's just hard. Some people like them; some people don't. I think when you go out with the mindset of wanting to please people, you're not focused on what's most important: doing the best you can in the design of the shoe. So for me, every year, it's obviously collecting insight into what basketball players are saying—what they like and what they want to see different—but always knowing that I gotta just do what feels best and what we think is best as a team.

At the end of the day, you have to wear them. How much is it you and how you play and your style when you're making the shoe and how much is it looking the broad scape of basketball players?

It's really based on my needs and how I play. The feel, the weight, the traction, the comfort, and the cushioning—all of that is really based off what I need and what I feel is most important when I'm stepping out on the court, especially as a guard. So I'd say that is always the foundation and the principles of when we're pushing innovation. That's always at the forefront of what we're doing. But I think it's understanding that technology is growing every day, and we're learning more and more. So I think it's finding a great balance between pushing, but not steering too far away from what makes it a Sabrina's shoe.

What makes this particular collection special/different from the last three? How does it represent this unique stage in your basketball career?

I think it just continues to tell a really fun story. You can go out there and accomplish what you want, be who you want to be, while also enjoying the process, believing in yourself, and putting in a lot of hard work. You know, you don't get to where you are by chance, but you get there through a lot of hard work, believing in yourself, and continuing to tell that story. So, for me, it's been fun seeing the evolution of [Nike and I] being able to tell that story as I've continued to evolve in my career.

Aesthetics-wise, tell me about how you made some of the decisions you did for this collection.

I'm always tweaking a little bit, but also trying to keep what I really love in the shoe the same. So the vertical swoosh is the same. The S pattern that we have—like the haptic on the entirety of the shoe—is different. There's an eye, kind of like a gradient eye on the back, which we've always had. The traction, like pattern, is different. So we've just added a lot of different new and improved things while also keeping it the same. And then in the clothing, which is what I'm really excited about. The Aerofit is something that I haven't had in clothing and hasn't been done. So that's something I'm excited for everyone to feel when they're training and how it feels on.

Are there any pieces in the apparel collection specifically that fans of your style and your tunnel 'fits can expect to see make an appearance?

I'd say the Icon Hoodie is something that we had in the Sabrina One, which is just the hoodie that you're able to tuck the cords into the S label, and that's something that was in the 1 [collection], and then we brought it back in the 4 with obviously a different technology and in a different sweatshirt. So I'm really excited, but I would say the new Aerofit in the apparel collection, especially for training, is something you can wear. I can't tell too much, but it's sleeveless, so you're able to train in it. It's breathable. It's obviously Nike's newest material. So I'm really excited for consumers to be able to wear it and feel really, really good in it.

These collections often have little, minute pieces of personalization that you can incorporate for fans to find and experience a bit of who you are. So does this collection have any of those touches?

Definitely, like on the fly plate, it says everyone everywhere. That's something that I love because for the first few, it's been anyone anywhere, and we've evolved it. Just as we continue to grow my business globally, the shoes [are now] for everyone, everywhere. So that's been really exciting. And then I would also probably say the chrome logo that we have on a lot of the clothing reflects like a mirror, and it's to be able to see yourself in it, and you can see your own reflection. It's you versus you. You have to look in the mirror and see yourself, and you're able to go out and accomplish whatever you want because it's your own journey of finding your own purpose.

If you could have any player wear/play in this shoe, who would it be?

I think I would pick a young player, like I love Jazzy Davidson. She's been wearing a lot of my shoes. She's at [the University of Southern California], but she's an Oregon kid, as well. So I feel like that's always been fun. I've known her for a really young age, from when she was young. But I think she's the future. So it's really exciting to see how she's continued to evolve in her career. I hope she wears them.

Good news for retro-sneaker lovers: Nike has officially entered the 2026 chat. Earlier this year, Nike rereleased one of its beloved archival styles from 1971: the Moon Shoe. It followed the release of two collaborations with Jacquemus (a designer collab being a telltale sign of a new It sneaker). Tracking trends is a key part of my job, and every so often, a special release comes along that I can immediately tell is bound to sell out. Nike’s newly reissued Moon Shoe is exactly that.

If there's anyone I trust to dole out gym shoe advice, it's Dakota Johnson, who is regularly spotted around Los Angeles somehow looking cool and collected post-workout. Her uniform? I live in South West London, so I live and breathe the city's style. In a quick fit check, I can spot the nuances of different boroughs instantly, and generally speaking, some areas skew more classic, hipster or preppy. But one thing I’m confident that all Londoners (born, based and honorary) take very seriously is their choice of trainers.

Growing up, anyone who was anyone had a pair of Nike Air Force 1s to show off, but it’s been an Adidas Samba supremacy in recent years, followed by a colourful wave of Puma Speedcats in 2025. Now there’s a strong new contender in the form of Nike Shox Z, the latest Nike Shox on the block that’s suddenly everywhere I turn.

It’s cliché to say that Londoners are always on the move, but it’s true—we are, making us well-versed in optimising our footwear. However, this isn't to say that we're all in agreement about which trainers are cool or chic, and Nike Shox definitely split opinion. The futuristic trainer style is defined by a technical-looking raised heel crafted from impact-absorbing columns. The result? Added height and a literal spring in every step, thanks to the unique cushioning system, but not everyone is into it.

But even if this disruptive design isn’t to your taste, there’s much to admire in the way Nike has embedded its innovation into every pair to maximise the wearer’s comfort.

Personally, I love Nike Shox trainers, and I’m not the only one rewinding to Lily Allen’s "LDN" era circa 2006 to style them. I’m seeing fellow converts inside and out of the fashion world teaming trainers in general with dresses and skirts alongside tracksuits and jeans to really step up their outfit game, whether working, Lime-biking, partying, going to football or just about anything else.

The Nike Shox Z is a timely evolution of the original Nike Shox trainers—I had a silver and pink pair myself— that debuted, peaked and faded in the early-to-mid noughties. This specific style feels retro and totally in sync with early 2026 trainer trend reports that chunky styles are on the back burner for now, although the Nike x Martine Rose Shox MR4 mules are a bold exception (also in my collection) helping to keep the hybrid sneaker trend alive. Striking surface details and interesting colours are taking centre stage, and at last count, there were at least 10 different Nike Shox Z colourways. Personally, I think it’s the two-tone and iridescent editions, especially the black-and-red colourway, that make the biggest statement.

Even without my firsthand experience, the shift towards contemporary and vintage Nike Shox styles makes sense. They create a welcome vibe clash that asserts your personality to stand out in any sneaker-obsessed city, and is also a genius twist on yet another burgeoning 2026 shoe trend. As the new Z Shox model is slimmer and more low-profile than the TL and R4 styles, these particular trainers look like teeny-tiny wedges. Unlike the other wedge sneakers working hard to romanticise the 2010s, the cut-out keeps them cool and not so "ugly shoe".

Take it from an accidental sneakerhead like me: of all the Nike Shox styles currently capturing hearts and bank balances, the Z is the one to go for. Whilst the cost-per-wear ratios of each style would work out to be effective, the Nike Shox Z’s silhouette and colour combinations seem the least try-hard, trumping the others, in my opinion.

I monitor trends for a living, so I feel pretty comfortable predicting which silhouettes are set to dominate. As 2026 comes into view, I’ve been tracking the colours, textures and shapes poised to ripple across our wardrobes over the next 12 months—and now, my attention has turned to trainers.

Recently spotted on the feet of London’s chicest dressers, Nike Air Rift trainers are quickly emerging as the cult shoe of 2026. Not just a hunch, according to StockX, sales of the Nike Air Rift are up 100% year-over-year, while the average resale price has climbed by nearly 50%. Clearly, something is stirring.

Sitting at the intersection of several key styling movements—the ballooning popularity of Maison Margiela’s tabi shoes, the ongoing rise of “ugly” trainers, and the resurgence of low-profile silhouettes—the Air Rift is perfectly primed for its biggest season yet.

Despite its split-toe design, it’s a surprisingly wearable shoe. Style it just as you would your favourite Mary Janes: pair with dresses and skirts for a playful contrast, or slot them into your trainer rotation with jeans and tailored trousers when you want something a little unexpected.

If you're going to let anyone tell you or, better yet, show you what's cool right now, Jacob Elordi is your guy. Over and over again, he's proven himself qualified for this position, donning Intrecciato loafers on the red carpet and the latest It bag on the streets of New York City—before it comes out. With that reputation in mind, when I saw him wearing a pair of the just-released Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe sneakers in downtown Manhattan, my editor senses started tingling, a surefire sign that a new viral trend has officially arrived.

The sold-out sneakers were officially released in three colors—University Red, Noir, and Alabaster—on September 29 at Jacquemus.com, before they launched across SNKRS and selected Nike retail locations on October 6. All three colors flew off the digital and physical shelves, sending a flurry of interested buyers into a tizzy. Everyone in New York wants a pair right now, and unless they're willing to scour the resale market for their size and desired color, they won't be getting them anytime soon. What makes them so great, apart from them being a Jacquemus x Nike product, is their vintage aesthetic, low-profile silhouette, and weightless feel. Trust me, I own the same pair as Elordi, and they feel like you're wearing nothing.

The Moon Shoe style was originally hand-built by Nike's co-founder Bill Bowerman. They debuted at the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials but were never manufactured. Though, iterations like the 1972 Oregon Waffle and 1975 Waffle Trainer were adapted from that first Bowerman design. Jacquemus bringing them back is, therefore, no small feat. Fans of the barely there sneaker have been waiting more than 50 years.

“Three years ago, when I visited the Nike archives, I first came across the historic Moon Shoe,” Simon Porte Jacquemus said in a press release for the sneaker. “I saw a unique, minimal running shoe that was both timeless and modern in its simplicity and execution. I knew it was an opportunity to create a new story and reshape it in the Jacquemus way.”

As for styling your pair (if you can get your hands on them), taking cues from Elordi is never a bad plan. He styled his red sneakers in a low-key cool way, with classic jeans, a vintage crewneck sweatshirt, an L.A. Dodgers baseball cap, and a fondant-colored Bottega Veneta Intrecciato oversize shoulder bag. Copy-worthy? I think yes. Lisa from BLACKPINK posted a photo of her wearing a pair—hers are black—with jeans on Instagram. Though, she opted for a plaid shirt as opposed to a sweatshirt like Elordi. I've also seen the red version worn with Still Here's similarly viral Sport Jeans in the color Pear, creating a truly perfect shade combination.

Clearly, my instincts were right about the Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe sneakers being the hottest shoe to hit NYC this season, putting all of fall's ballet flats, loafers, and boots to shame.

I love sneakers. I wear them more than any other type of shoe, and I’ve been what you call a “sneakerhead” for most of my formative years. I used to wake up early to wait for the next sneaker drop by a cool designer. My Nike V2K Run Sneakers Review

I was ecstatic when I got the Nike package in the office. I opened the red box with the well-known swoosh. I showed the cream and butter-yellow shoes to my stylish colleagues, and they all affirmed that the sneakers were cute. I slipped off my flats and immediately put the sneakers on. I walked to lunch a few blocks away and was surprised at how comfortable they were. Not to sound cliché, but it felt like I was walking on a cloud. They have a bounce to them with every step, which makes sense since they’re technically running shoes. Again, I’m not a runner, but the tech in these sneakers definitely feels suitable for long- and short-distance running. Wearing these all week made me feel inspired to join a run club. (Although I probably won’t, since I hate running.) The sneakers are a new iteration on another best seller, the Nike Vomero runner, which looks funky and retro yet modern all in one.

Anyway, throughout the week, I ran (no pun intended) a ton of errands, and my feet never hurt once. I walk very long distances in my Brooklyn neighborhood to get in as many steps as possible. With that said, these shoes were the most supportive sneakers I’ve worn in my three years of living in New York. Shocking, I know. They also fit true to size, nice and snug, and don’t slip off my heels at all, which is an issue I tend to have with some other sneakers I own. They are perfect for my long strolls and even for the office. I’ve worn them everywhere, and they’ve been everything I’ve needed in a pair of sneakers. I have a pretty lax approach to styling myself each day, so throwing these on keeps the vibe of my outfits quite cool and laid-back.

My Final Thoughts

Overall, I would recommend the Nike V2K Run to literally anyone, no matter their age or style. It’s *the* walkable city–friendly shoe. The price point is relatively affordable, the colorway is trendy and timeless at once, and so are all the other colorways. It’s a great shoe for those who experience pain after being on their feet for a long period of time at work and, of course, those who just love a stroll. For those of you who do enjoy running, I can't speak from experience, but it certainly seems like it’s a great sneaker for a marathon.

The Fit and Feel

The first thing I noticed after putting the hoodie on was how well it fit. It's both cropped and oversize, which makes it easy to dress up or down, depending on your style. The inside of the hoodie was made with a sweat-wicking French terry fabric that feels super soft on the skin. Meanwhile, the actual hood is satin-lined to create the bonnet. Upon my initial try-on, I could tell that Nike and Wilson were determined to get this right, which made me even more excited to test it out.

The Test

I decided the best time to wear this hoodie was on one of my busier days, when my hair was most likely going to be put through a lot. Earlier in the day, I decided to go for a run without the hoodie because it was raining. But after getting home, I showered and washed my hair so I could have my curls at their best. I kept my styling process the same as usual, sticking to leave-in conditioner, curl cream, and gel cream (which has a light hold but still provides definition).

While this might not seem like the most obvious first step to testing, I usually nap shortly after a run. This happens after almost every workout for me without fail, and I figured if I were to wear a bonnet going to bed, why not see how it works with the hoodie? At this point, I knew there was a chance I'd wake up to dented curls or some knots since I toss and turn in my sleep. But to my surprise, I woke up 30 minutes later in genuine shock at how well my curls held up.

Once the hoodie passed the unofficial "nap test," I had a feeling it would probably keep my curls in check for the rest of the day. Spoiler: it did. I wore it while I ran the rest of my errands, which required me to trudge through rain and humidity. But by the time I got back home that evening, my curls still looked defined and not nearly as frizzy as they typically would given the weather.

The humidity and rain forced me to level my expectations, but even so, I felt like my curly hair looked better than usual because of the satin-lined hood. I also expected some shrinkage as my hair dried, as it typically does on the first day of my wash cycle. That said, humidity will sometimes cause shrinkage plus frizz, which can make my hair look a bit messy. So overall, I appreciated that the hood helped me maintain shine and definition all day long.

It's the end of August in New York City, which can only mean one thing: The US Open has completely taken over. This year especially, it feels like all anyone's talking about or actually doing is attending the renowned tennis tournament located in Flushing, Queens, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. It's the hottest ticket of the summer, and if you're lucky and get to go, there's a chance you'll also bear witness to one of tennis's biggest and best dressed stars, Naomi Osaka, playing on the stadium's hard courts. Osaka is a top draw of the tournament because she's a two-time champion of the US Open—she won it in 2018 and 2020—and her court style never disappoints.

As an ambassador for Nike and Tag Heuer, the 26-year-old sensation is always outfitted in the very best match-day 'fits, specifically when she plays at the US Open. She told Who What Wear it is her favorite slam to dress for. We caught up with the four-time Grand Slam winner ahead of the tournament at Tag Heuer's Fifth Avenue flagship store to talk all about her signature court style, what makes the US Open special, what watch she'll be playing in, and more. What makes the US Open special for you compared to other Grand Slam tournaments?

I grew up here until I was 9, so I have a lot of memories of coming to the tournament. It was also the first Grand Slam that I won, so just a lot of really good memories.

Which slam is the most fun to dress for?

The US Open. I think Nike always lets me do something cool during the US Open, and I just have memories of watching players, specifically Serena [Williams] taking her jacket off and [revealing] something incredible underneath.

As we approach the US Open, what can you tell me about the looks you're planning to wear this year?

I can say that it's going to be one of my favorite outfits I've ever worn, if not my favorite. The process of creating the outfit was really fun.

How involved are you in that process?

I'm actually very involved. I love being able to get creative, see everything that goes on, and pick fabrics and pick colors.

You've had some pretty incredible court looks through the years, from the custom Sacai x Nike look from the 2019 US Open to this year's ruffled Nike set for Wimbledon. What do you love about combining your craft on the court with your interest in fashion?

I love the fact that nothing feels limited—it almost feels like anything is possible. … With sport, it should feel like anything is possible. Exploring the boundaries and pushing them, for me, is always one of my biggest goals.

Walk me through some of your favorite fashion moments from on the court.

People don't really talk about it, but the 2021 Australian Open was my first time wearing a jumpsuit and then a skirt over it, and it was a funky army print that was [all] different colors. I had a lot of fun wearing that one. The [custom Nike x Sacai] outfit is going to go down in my hall of fame of favorite outfits. And then actually a US Open outfit from the last time I played here. It was lavender purple, and I thought it was really beautiful.

What watch will you be wearing during the US Open?

I'll be wearing this beautiful watch, a TAG Heuer Aquaracer. I love the color combination—I think it's really beautiful, and it fits the US Open because it'll shine brightly.

When you're thinking about which watch you want to wear during play, what style and design aspects do you consider?

For me, what is important is that it looks good, which TAG Heuer has always done a really amazing job with.

How do you style your TAG Heuer watch in your daily life?

They're so versatile, and I've also collected a lot of them. It just feels like a staple—I don't know how to describe it. I put on contacts every day, and I put on a TAG watch every day. For me, I love picking out the color and [figuring] out how it fits within my outfit.

Do you match your watch to your outfit or prefer it to stand out on its own?

Most of the time, I like it to stand out by itself. It's an extension of the outfit and deserves its own limelight.

Who's influencing your style right now in tennis or out of it?

I'm always gonna say Rihanna, but actually, I think [Yoon Ahn, the creative director of] Ambush. She has an incredible wardrobe, and sometimes, I just look at her Instagram photos and think, "Wow." She definitely has one of the best closets in the world. On the court, obviously, I really love Serena and Venus [Williams].

At this current point in your life, how would you describe your personal style journey and where you're at with your relationship with fashion?

My personal style journey has been a bit of a roller coaster in the way that I'm very experimental. I will go full-on with an idea if I have it. For me, I just always remember going to Japan when I was younger and seeing full-on outfits. Fashion is a bit of a personality thing, and I love that you can express yourself that way. I'm learning a lot more about fashion as I go along.

Finally, court style or street style?

I have a dream to make my court style like street style, so court style.

There's really no wrong time of year to dabble in a new sneakers, but I'd argue that fall is just begging for a pair. I'm always here for fashion that's unapologetically practical—particularly when it comes to footwear because I live in New York and inevitably walk a million steps a day. Really, I'm not trying to recapture the pre-pandemic magic of stealthily swapping out my shoes under a desk.

I’ve always been a city girl. I was born in Kuala Lumpur, grew up in Houston, and upon moving to L.A., lived comfortably east of the 405 for years. But a California hazard they don’t warn you about is that you might meet a cute surfer who eventually lures you all the way west. After some cajoling, I gave in to my inner Pisces, packed up my gray Tabby, and moved us across town to the sun-dappled, salty-aired streets of Venice Beach.

It’s been six years since, and while I may not yet be a bona fide beach babe (I still prefer reading on the sand to roaring waves), it’s home. My hair is blonder, my mornings slower, and I love the neighborhood's walkability and proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Every time I catch another glorious pink sunset, it does feel a little like living in a fantasy.

If you've ever experienced L.A. traffic, you know how vast and sprawling the city is. Different zip codes mean different dress codes, and the attitude in Venice is very relaxed. Denim and comfy shoes reign supreme, and a knit is a must to combat the almost-always-present marine layer. Most of my bolder pieces have been relegated to the back of my closet, awaiting invites for martinis at Tower Bar, dancing at A Club Called Rhonda, and too much pasta at Little Dom's. So while my highlights may not be low-maintenance, my approach to daily dressing is.

JEANS + EASY COAT + WESTERN BOOT

My daily trifecta. It may be the beach, but it ain't cocktails and bikinis everyday. Venice can get downright chilly thanks to miss marine layer often overstaying her welcome. The key is layering: a tank for when the sun comes out, trusty broken-in denim, comfy-enough-to-walk-in cowboy boots (you can take the girl out of Texas), and a great statement coat to cinch the look.

SWEATER + SLIP DRESS + SLIP-ONS

Date night, happy hour, or girls' dinner, this is my go-to outfit. I love the feel of a slinky, figure-skimming slip. (I'm partial to ultra short or ankle-grazing.) Having a sweater on hand both ensures I'm cozy and adds dimension to the look. Because I finally learned how to ride a bike recently (no, I will not be taking questions at this time), a comfy closed-toe shoe guarantees I can pedal, walk, or if the night drags on, dance comfortably.

THE DIANA LOOK

Aka my "running errands" look. I could be on my way to a workout (but am probably just running to the Erehwon hot bar). It's sporty but polished, and if it was good enough for a princess, it's good enough for me!

It's no surprise that the stylish, colorful Scandi crowd has a few sartorial rules they live by: Number one, an all-black outfit, though chic, tends to be mundane. Number two is that flat shoes are an essential if you're walking or biking anywhere in the city. 

After spending almost a week in Copenhagen earlier this fall and winter, I've got to admit that I've been coming around to the colorful sneaker trend that the Danish set swears by. I picked up not one, but two (!!!) saccharine sneakers while I was in the Scandi city and, as expected, they don't disappoint.

Let's face it, the past 12 months have given us a lot to talk about in the way of shoe trends (and if last year wasn't the year that you bought a pair of ballet pumps, mid-heel boots, Margiela Tabis, moto boots, or kitten-heel slingbacks, what exactly were you wearing?). But if there's one shoe that we can guarantee will never go out of style, it's the humble trainer, and although I'm a card-carrying shoe girl, trainers haven't always been my go-to.

Forgive me, reader, as I must confess to being easily trend-led and distracted by the new and shiny styles that pop up on the runway, but this year was the year that I decided to make the sensible decision to invest in comfort as much as aesthetic, and trainers were the starting point. The pairs that I do own, I've been wearing for years; a testament to their enduring versatility, so for those on the hunt for a new shoe style to get behind, this one won't require regular trips to the cobbler.

Knowing just how important trainer trends are to sneakerheads, I set about finding out which pairs would come through as the most popular for 2024 in the only way I knew how: scouring the runways, searching street style images and asking my esteemed colleagues which trainers they're wearing. The results may surprise you.

Some styles you'll recognise (and frankly, white trainers never date), whilst others you'll find to be fashion Marmite (some of my personal faves), but either way, I'm confident that these are the next 'It' trainers. 1. THE NEW NEUTRALS

Style Notes: Anything Miu Miu touches, turns to gold—just look at the rise of the ultra micro mini or the polo shirt, for example. So when the latest New Balance collaboration set foot down the runway for spring/summer 2024, there was no doubt in our minds that muted tones of beige, brown and cream were set to be the next trainer trend. And of course we weren't wrong, with the likes of Loewe, Salomon and The Row solidifying these earthy shades as the autumn go-with-everything heroes. Similar-toned socks in earthy shades is a fail proof choice, but bright colours are also a good option if you're looking to add interest to your outfits.

2. FOOTBALLCORE

Style Notes: After the first drop of the Grace Wales Bonner X Adidas trainer collaboration landed and sold out almost immediately, we knew we'd have to be shrewd to get our hands on the next buzzy release, but we couldn't have predicted just how popular these uber-cool trainers would be. From the exaggerated tongue to the knee-high sock styling, the latest drop of Sambas is a loving homage to vintage football fashion. Take a look at the Ancuta Sarca and Cormio runways (pictured above) for a quite literal reinvention of the football boot that can be worn on and off the pitch. Any kind of sport socks will keep you comfortable and on trend.

3. NOT-SO-MELLOW YELLOW

Style Notes: Looking for something a little bit more pared-back? If you're in need of a style so discreet you'll forget you're even wearing anything at all, a super-simple plimsoll, tennis shoe or slip-on is the kind of shoe you can rely on to help the rest of your outfit stand out. These pairs are the embodiment of quiet luxury in an even quieter shoe. Classic white, cream or beige socks will go seamlessly with these pared-back styles.

Style Notes: Sorry, white and grey Sambas, you still deserve a place in our wardrobes, but judging by Instagram, bold and bright Adidas SL72 and Handball styles are being snapped up like hot cakes instead. 7. TAKE A HIKE

Style Notes: Spend any time looking at trainers and you'll recognise this trend from 2023. Last year's biggest trainer trend, the hiking and trail-running trainer, continues into this year too with an emphasis on any shoe style that looks part-tech, part-trek. Although the runways showed them with everything from pretty dresses to micro minis, we're wearing ours with loose-leg jeans and statement tops. Opting for classic ankle sports socks will ensure your they don't roll down into the trainer and keep your feet comfortable.

8. BALLET SNEAKERS

Style Notes: Looking to pair one of 2024's biggest flat-shoe trends with the comfort of trainers? The ballet sneaker is your answer. Originally appearing in Simone Rocha's S/S show in 2021, the style has consistently made it's way back onto the runway year after year. For 2024, Simone Rocha brought the iconic shoe back with velcro straps to add to the sporty element, but there are also a lot of lace-up iterations on the market as well. Go without socks on milder days but a cosy cashmere style will look just as chic when its chilly.

The pub is a place where many a memory is made, where friends come together to discuss new life events and (often) to fawn over one or two excellent outfit choices. Personally, I love the classic British pub and all that frequent it, because it provides the perfect setting for that casual winding down, debriefing or meeting up. And whilst we were blessed with an Indian summer, the recent autumnal change in season means that those pub-garden drinks will have to come indoors again (begrudgingly for some), and so a little more coverage in the toe department is a must.

It may seem a little early to visualise for some, but I'm already looking forward to finding a cosy little pub with some sort of Chesterfield sofa next to a roaring fire, and an equally roaring landlady serving perfect drinks and one-liners. I want to put my feet up and relax in the comforting and reassuring surroundings, watching people come and go and wondering what their day-to-day lives entail. I want to admire their shoes whilst a dog is curled up at their feet, and I want to pay a normal price for a pint.

The assortment of clientele who walk through the doors of the average pub varies so much that very little is deemed "inappropriate" in terms of dress code, but as the nights draw in, I'm here to help you make some spot-on footwear choices for future outings with friends, family, partners and dogs. Style Notes: I love the proportions at play with Marie Jedig's loose silk skirt and chunky, knee-high boots; the juxtaposed soft and hard textures work perfectly. Chunky boots are an especially good pub footwear option if you're walking to your watering hole.

Style Notes: Surely, trainers need no explanation. But just in case, they're perfect for the pub thanks to the unrivalled comfort they offer and because they make any casual outfit look so much cooler.

Style Notes: I'm a huge fan of mules for any and every occasion, but there's something particularly perfect about wearing them with cosy socks, wide-leg jeans and a chunky knit by a pub fire.

The numbers don't lie. A new report published today by Brand Finance revealed the most valuable fashion brands in the world based on factors such as financial performance and growth rates. The top five brands include a mix of luxury and sportswear companies—all household names, of course. 

At the top of the list is a familiar name: Nike. When in Paris, dress like the locals do. For Blake Lively, that means throwing on an easy and elegant floral dress. While in the City of Lights this week, the Gossip Girl actress was spotted in a very French white floral dress with matching sneakers while holding hands with Ryan Reynolds on the way to a gourmet lunch at La Poule au Jar restaurant. 

Lively wore a long-sleeved button-down dress from BA&SH, a distinctly Parisian label started by Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief. She added a navy pinstripe duster, a magenta Chanel crossbody bag, and gingham Nike Air Force 1s.
