Remember last summer when you couldn't scroll on Instagram for two seconds without seeing someone wearing a white cotton maxi skirt? It was certainly the trend of the season, and by all accounts, it's continuing to shine in 2026. That said, right now, I'm taking cues from my favorite stylish celebrities in their 40s who have been wearing a different color trend: pastel pink.

Most recently, Kate Hudson was photographed in Los Angeles wearing a slip skirt in the prettiest shade of pink. She teamed it with a casual T-shirt and Alaïa Leather-Trimmed Straw Ballet Flats ($1650). But she's not the only 40-something fan of our color du jour. Natalie Portman attended a tennis match wearing a pleated pink skirt, while Paris Hilton took hers to Wall Street for an event at the New York Stock Exchange. I like ballet flats as much as the next person who walks a lot, but even the biggest fan of the iconic heel-less shoe style needs to switch it up now and then. No, I don't want to trek around the city in stilettos, nor do I want to lace up my sneakers when I'm wearing a cute outfit. I want in-between shoes, and for that, I always choose loafers. Specifically, patent leather loafers, which give off a formal vibe that pairs perfectly with miniskirts—aka my favorite summer bottoms. The duo is my go-to when I want to look chic and elevated without sacrificing comfort (or having to wear pants or a long skirt in NYC's 90-degree heat).

Apparently, I'm not alone. On Monday, Natalie Portman, who's currently in Manhattan filming Lena Dunham's new romantic comedy Good Sex, was spotted wearing my favorite skirt-and-shoe pairing for warm weather, paired with a Prada pussy-bow blouse, Oliver Peoples sunglasses, and a Jacquemus bag. Specifically, she wore a classic black miniskirt with a stylish pair of patent-leather loafers, finishing off the ensemble with gold Jacquemus earrings and a to-go iced coffee.

The styling combination is a classic. It'll never go out of style and always looks chic, no matter what color skirt you pick or style of loafers you prefer. Classic pennies? No problem. The glorious thing about sneaker trends is that they tend to stick around for awhile. The perfect example of this is the chunky sneaker trend that made a name for itself in the '90s and has made a very strong comeback in the 2020s. They're a sportier alternative to the '70s retro sneaker trend that they share the stage with, and they make even more of an impact on the outfits they're paired with. Portman's classic, low-key outfit consisted of a double-breasted blazer, a black T-shirt, and baggy jeans. One of the best things about summer, in my opinion, is that any shoe goes, and easy slip-on sandals reign supreme. One of my longtime favorite slip-on summer shoes is a very popular Birkenstock style that costs only $50, and since Natalie Portman just wore it in L.A., I'm guessing she's also a fan.

The Birkenstocks in question are the Arizona Eva Sandals. (Portman opted for the lavender pair, which she wore with denim shorts and a tank top.) They're incredibly comfortable and lightweight, and they come in about a million colors—neutrals and brights included. They're so good that I own three pairs and have turned my entire family into fans of them. They're the perfect sandals to wear with a casual summer outfit, and they're waterproof, so on top of everything else, they're pool-day approved.

Anyone who knows anything about fashion can agree on one thing: It's cyclical. The latest casualties of post-aught consumerism hit this week like a one-two punch: first, the shuttering of storied department store Barneys New York, followed by the announcement that Zac Posen was ending his eponymous label and would not be producing his recently shown S/S 20 collection.

If you haven’t seen it yet, the internet seems to be collectively freaking out that Millie Bobby Brown and Natalie Portman could be twins. It's finally here: The 2017 award season officially kicked off last night with the Golden Globe Awards. The fact that Natalie Portman is portraying a fashion icon in the new biopic Jackie is but a sliver of the whole story. Quite frankly, it wasn't necessarily the clothes in the official full-length trailer that left us in awe. It was Portman’s portrayal of former First Lady Jackie Onassis Kennedy herself.

If the below two-and-a-half minute teaser is any indication of what we can expect in theaters come December 2, it’ll be a cinematic and very emotional ride indeed, as we see snippets of JFK’s assassination, his burial, and the story’s title character trying it keep it all together for her family and the country. Portman’s Jackie Kennedy not only seems spot on but haunting, disturbing even. And the look that most notably stands out? Mrs. Kennedy's ill-fated pink tweed suit—one that would become historic not only in fashion history but American history as well.

If it's not broken, why fix it? That may as well be Natalie Portman's motto when it comes to her maternity style. From her recent looks, it seems like she's playing favorites with one piece in particular: coats.

By now you've probably heard that Natalie Portman plays Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming biopic Jackie. We've already gotten a peek at the gripping first trailer, in which Portman could pass as the late style icon's twin, and in a new interview with Marie Claire, Portman shed some light on what she learned about Kennedy through her experience portraying her on screen. 

"I recently played Jackie Kennedy, which gave me some insight into her life," Portman told the magazine. "She was criticized so much for her style—[then] the public became obsessed with her style. But she didn't try to bow to anyone's demands. She had confidence and became a style icon, just by being herself." We'd all be wise to heed this advice—originality and self-assurance can go a long way in the fashion world. After all, who better to emulate than the one and only Jackie Kennedy?

We finally have our first look at Natalie Portman's portrayal of Jackie Kennedy in the new biopic Jackie. In addition to giving us a preview of the gripping storyline, the brand-new trailer shows Portman's striking resemblance to the former first lady and offers a hint at what to expect for the fashion icon's costumes.

The movie, which is set to be released on December 2, is described as a "searing and intimate portrait" of Kennedy, per Fox Searchlight. It chronicles the grief-filled days following the president's assassination. "Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the first lady as she struggles to maintain her husband's legacy and the world of 'Camelot' that they created and loved so well," the studio explains. Mark your calendars: This is definitely a buzz-worthy movie you won't want to miss.

Congratulations are in order: Natalie Portman is pregnant! People confirmed the news after Portman stepped out at the Venice Film Festival showing off her new baby bump.

The festival has seen its fair share of amazing red carpet moments, but Portman and co-star Lily-Rose Depp take the cake in our minds. The duo is promoting their upcoming film, Planetarium, in which they play sisters with supernatural abilities. They went for a yin and yang–inspired look, with Depp opting for an all-black outfit with statement Chanel pumps and Portman going for an ethereal white one-shouldered gown by Dior. What's not to love? 

While Portman has been a fashion fixture for quite some time now—she's been a face of Dior for years—Depp is one of the biggest on-the-rise stars in the industry. She's already landed a Vogue Paris shoot and a Chanel campaign, among other impressive résumé boosters, and we have no doubt there will be lots more to come.
