A few years ago, even the slightest whisper of the word “peplum” would’ve sparked such ire and condemnation that you would’ve believed the polarising hemline was the most maligned fashion trend to exist. Fast forward a bit, and peplum tops are jackets are being peppered back into the wardrobes of the most tasteful, courtesy of intriguing denim options from Agolde, sculptural styles from Alaia and dreamy iterations from Dior.

Though the trend will always have connotations with the everyday business casual aesthetic that reigned in 2010—especially given the fact they’ve been enshrined in history through pop culture monoliths from the decade like Lena Dunham’s Girls—the protruding shape has appeared to shed its harshest critics and naysayers. Now, peplum tops seem to have done the unthinkable and united both Gen Z and Millennial tastemakers in their unified appreciation for the silhouette.

Or, at least that was the case overnight in New York when both Taylor Swift and Millie Bobby Brown stepped out in the city, albeit for separate occasions, wearing the style. Though falling on either side of the sartorial spectrum—Swift is far more classic and preppy compared to the Stranger Things star’s penchant for ‘90s references and casual loungewear—who would’ve thought it would take something so controversial and dated to bring together two vastly different approaches to dressing?

For her part, the Life of a Showgirl singer remained true to her roster of favourites. The specific peplum top she wore came courtesy of Stella McCartney’s spring/summer 2026 collection and is made of a wafty cotton-poplin fabric. She styled it with a Fendi Peekaboo ISeeU Petite, straight-leg trousers from The Row and her signature Cartier Santos watch.

Cerebral, classic and certainly more fitting for her The Tortured Poets Department era, the look was the latest in a slew of public outings she’s been making recently as she soft-launches her bridal wardrobe.

Elsewhere, across town, the Enola Holmes actress cut an equally architectural figure in a peplum-cropped trench coat from Stockholm-based brand Arakii. She paired her look with white lace-up pumps from Jimmy Choo and stovepipe jeans.

Interestingly, the 22-year-old also spent the previous evening reviving the ultra-cropped bolero jacket, pairing it with a corset top and peep-toe heels like it was 2002 again for an event with Netflix.

These sightings are proof that Millennials and Gen Z need not let the discourse divide them. Because if they can both agree that peplum tops are a winning fashion trend and find common ground in comfort shows like The Hills and The O.C., why let disagreement on punctuation use and correct sock length get between?

I don't think I break any. I could not bear going to sleep with my makeup on, or even just an ounce of it. I cannot bear it. I don't actually know if I break any—boring!

Blake Lively's.

The '90s.

28. Eyelash curlers: love them or hate them?

I hate them but I have to love them because I have no eyelashes.

Let me think... Okay, this is something that I definitely do. Because I have long nails, when I do my eyeliner, I get my long nail at the end and I pull it and it makes it sharp. That's the only way I can do a sharp wing.

Congratulations appear to be in order for Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and her partner since 2021, Jon Bon Jovi's son Jake Bongiovi. News broke of the couple's alleged engagement Tuesday morning when the 19-year-old actress posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram that showed an elated Bongiovi hugging an engagement ring–clad Bobby Brown on the beach. By the age of 19, Millie Bobby Brown has gained international recognition for playing the powerful Eleven in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, earning herself nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards, and she starred in and produced the Netflix mystery film Enola Holmes as well as its 2022 sequel. In 2018, Brown was featured on the Time 100 list of the world’s most influential people and, later that same year, was selected to be UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador. With all things considered, it’s clear this star’s talent has gone supernova, extending far beyond the limits of Hollywood.

We had the opportunity to talk with Brown about her exciting new partnership with Essentia Water, the tips and tricks she’s incorporated into her makeup and skincare routines on and off set, and what she’s learned from building an expansive career at such a young age.

Can you share a little about your experience collaborating with Essentia Water and what it means to you?

So far, it’s been amazing! Everyone shares the same message and objective, and it just coincides exactly with what I believe in. Our messaging across the board just feels seamless. We have so many great upcoming things happening throughout the year. I’ve been really lucky that this worked out for me and that I got to partner up with such a wonderful brand that’s very much family already.

If you had to leave the house in five minutes, what are a few staple beauty products you’d apply or bring with you?

Florence by Mills is my beauty-and-skincare company, so I’m going to name a few products from there: my Built to Lash Mascara, Dreamy Dew Moisturizer ([this] plays into the hydration of everything, which has been something I’ve been surrounded by since the very beginning of Florence by Mills [and] is why, five years later, I’m partnering up with Essentia), and … our Tinted Lip Oil because that’s also pH balanced. I’ve been in that world for a very long time, so pH balance right now is the theme of my life.

What are your go-to products for keeping your skin hydrated and glowing?

So I’m going to go into a bit of skincare. Obviously, washing your face, keeping your face clean. Your skin is a blank canvas, and whatever you put onto your skin goes into your bloodstream. That’s why Essentia Water is so important. … Not only do we have to take care of who we are and what we’re made of but also what we put onto our skin. Also, keeping your face moisturized! 

My products are made up of things to keep your skin hydrated. Considering we go out into the sun almost every day, it’s incredibly important that we protect ourselves from it. So I’m really lucky to partner up with Essentia because I know that world in skincare form. They know that world in water form, and coming together to talk more about that is really unbelievable.

How would you describe your approach to everyday skincare and makeup?

When I wake up, I usually use my Clean Magic Face Wash. It’s non-foaming, and I just use that and then throw on some moisturizer. But actually, the first thing I do when I wake up—hand on my heart, not going to lie to you, Maya—is drink water. I have it next to my bed every single night prepared for when I wake up in the morning to drink at least half a bottle of it before I get up. So I watch YouTube in bed and drink half of the water at least and then get up. I actually have felt the difference and reap the benefits from that.

Can you walk me through a day in the life on set?

Gosh, what I like about my career is that every day is different, so I would only be explaining to you what a generic day looks like, but again, it’s never the same, which is what I love about it. I usually wake up, drink half a bottle of Essentia, get up, brush my teeth, throw my pj's on, and go to set. Then I go into hair and makeup and then usually a rehearsal to see what a scene looks like. Then you do last looks (which is when everyone comes around you and takes a last look at what you look like), and then you go straight into rolling. You do the scene shot by shot, and sometimes, you get to complete a scene within a day. Sometimes, you don’t get the pleasure of completing a scene in a day, and then you have to come back to it. 

But the only thing that keeps me going is water, and I’ve realized that only recently. I wish I knew that when I was younger because that might have been a lot easier for me. I used to sometimes get tired, and I was like, "Okay, how do I keep going?” I was too young to drink coffee, so I was like, "What is my answer here?” And little did I know it was water. The fact that this is an ionized alkaline water, it is different from the rest and does stand out on its own. I’ve been able to find that only later on in life at the ripe age of 19, so I caught it just in time. Now, I’ve finally found my answer, and that is what keeps me going during those busy set days.

If you had to take on the style of one of your characters, who would you pick and why?

Definitely not Eleven. Why would I? I’m going to have to say my new character in this film I just finished called The Electric State. That would be the style I take on. I just love her style. And it’s very much something that I would have probably looked like in the ’90s.

Okay, so you’re going from the ’80s to the ’90s! 

I know! Do you know what? I realized I haven’t done a film set in this day and age. Every film I’ve done has been either in the future or the past.

Lastly, do you have any advice for Gen Zers hoping to pursue their dream careers?

Don’t be afraid to learn. I think so much of what we’re made up of now is kind of like you have to feel like everything is tangible—like you know something already because you’ve seen it or read it. Everything seems so accessible through our phones. But actually, learning is so impactful and can go such a long way, and I feel like people forget that going to school [and] receiving all the education for the dreams you want to pursue is really important. 

That’s rich coming from me because I did not study drama, but I’m studying something else I’m really passionate about, and activism is something I’ve always shown so much interest in, even from a really young age. I think when you have an education in front of you and the privilege to have an education, utilize it. Don’t be afraid to learn and grow. And with that, drink water! Why not? Drink water while you’re studying. That’s what people forget. I have so many friends that are in college that are falling asleep at their computer, and I’m like, "Wow! Let me send you something that will change your life.” So going back to taking care of yourself during those times as well, it’s finding that fine balance really.

How would you describe your relationship with beauty?

My relationship with beauty is always evolving. I do believe true beauty comes from within and is reflected in how you treat people. I use beauty products as a way to express myself and make myself feel good!

If you had to leave the house in five minutes, what products would you use?

After my face is washed, toned and moisturised, I would apply SPF and then refresh my skin with my Zero Chill Face Mist (£10) from Florence by Mills. I would then apply a tinted lip balm (£13), Cheek Me Later Cream Blush in Shy Shi (£14) on my cheeks and Built to Lash Mascara (£14). On my way out, I would spray a perfume—whatever fragrance matches my mood for that day!

Are you a bath or shower person? If we looked in your bath or shower right now, what products would we find?

I always prefer a bath. I find them so relaxing and valuable for my own self-care. My bath is full of body scrubs and bath oils, and everything always has a hint of lavender.

Can you talk us through your skin routine, both morning and night?

I try to keep my routine simple in the morning. I cleanse my skin with the Florence by Mills Clean Magic Face Wash (£12) and follow up that with one of the toners from the Spotlight Toner Series. I pick one based on how my skin is feeling and what it needs at the time. I always apply the Look Alive Eye Balm (£16), and then I finish with the Dreamy Dew Moisturiser (£14) so that I can run out the door with my skin prepped for set. If I’m extra tired, I sometimes even wear the Swimming Under the Eyes Gel Pads (£34) on my way to set to help brighten my under-eyes and look a little more awake.

At night, I like to use my skincare routine as a time to wind down and relax, so I add a few more steps. Then I use the toner that best fits my skin’s needs for the night. After my skin is all clean, I move on to a face mask. I love doing face masks because they give me 10 minutes when I have no choice but to stay relatively still and calm. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! You’re never too young to be lathering up on moisturiser or even using eye cream as a young person. Hydrated skin keeps your skin looking radiant and feeling soft. Oh, another tip is that no matter how tired you are, always take your makeup off before bed!

Let’s talk about Florence by Mills. What made you want to launch your own beauty brand back in 2019, and were you prepared for such a positive response from consumers?

When we started the process of launching Florence, it all stemmed from not being able to find products that were clean, affordable and fun to use. I felt like there was a big gap in the market for clean products made specifically for my age group who were just starting to explore skincare and makeup products for the first time. Of course, I was hoping for a positive response, but I’ve been truly blown away. I never could have dreamed that we’d be where we are today, and there is still so much more to accomplish! I’m really grateful for the entire Florence family and the continued support they show us with each new launch.

What’s coming up for Florence by Mills for the rest of the year?

We are over halfway through 2021, but there are still some big surprises coming! You can expect two new products in an entirely new category from Florence in just a few months!

Has anything about your approach to beauty changed over the past 18 months, and are there any particular beauty looks that you’re looking forward to trying now that we’re emerging from lockdown?

I spent a lot of time playing with bold eye looks and experimenting with colour while at home in lockdown. Spending more time at home really just made me realise how much I love expressing myself and my creativity through makeup and beauty.

We have to talk about Stranger Things because it truly is a cultural phenomenon. We really saw some fun fashion and makeup moments from Eleven in the last season. Have you taken any beauty or wardrobe inspiration from the show into your real life?

I’m sure I have subconsciously over the last few years! I loved how fun and colourful Eleven’s wardrobe was last season.

You must spend a fair amount of time on set with makeup artists and hairstylists. Are there any insider beauty secrets that you’ve picked up from the experts?

Makeup and skincare are so interlinked. If your skin is dehydrated, then your makeup will not look as good as it would if you took the time to properly cleanse and moisturise it.

Are there any other women whose beauty looks particularly inspire you, and where do you look for personal beauty and fashion inspiration?

Zendaya is someone I admire across fashion and beauty. She’s daring and experimental in a really exciting way.

Wellness and beauty are so intertwined. Do you have any wellness practices or supplements that help to give you a boost both mentally and physically?

I really value meditation and yoga. I use it as a time to center myself and slow down my thoughts. Like I said at the beginning of this interview, I really believe that beauty is what’s on the inside and taking care of your mind is just as important—really, more important—than taking care of your skin.

(A personal favorite of mine is the custom pink ruffled Rodarte number she wore to the ST season-three premiere.) Hyperspeed is a comfortable pace for the now 16-year-old, and with no plans of slowing down anytime soon, she is ready to take on more.

This month, Brown is teaming with Netflix to bring audiences Enola Holmes, a project that sees her both in front of the camera in the titular role and behind the scenes serving as one of the film’s producers, a career first for the star. "I wanted to be a part of the casting process, I wanted to be a part of the writing process, and I definitely wanted to be a part of the layout of the whole production,” she says of some of the new responsibilities she took on. You could say Enola Holmes is Brown’s baby, in a way. She was struck by the character, the precocious younger sister of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes, when reading the Nancy Springer book series at the age of 13. "When I was younger and lived in London, I felt as though I could never connect with a lead British female. When I read this book, I genuinely felt like I had found someone just like me. My sister and I both fell in love with Enola and everything about her. We thought, ‘This needs to be seen.’” So Brown, with a strong vision and understanding of what young audiences want, went to Legendary Entertainment and made it happen. The project would later find its perfect home with Netflix.

With all the makings of an entertaining mystery film—adventure, suspense, misdirection—and the welcome addition of female empowerment, Enola Holmes is a fantastic watch. Brown shines as Holmes and is almost unrecognizable with her long, wavy hair and fitted-bodice dresses, a far cry from Eleven’s ’80s tomboy look. When I ask how she and Holmes might be similar, she laughs and tells me they both are quite nosy—a product, she goes on to say, of always wanting to be in the know and wearing her heart on her sleeve. She also says they are both unapologetically authentic. "We are only ourselves for the rest of our lives, so I just accept the fact that I am who I am and don’t need anyone to rely on.”

Brown may have found independence at a young age, but her close-knit family continues to be her North Star. "[My family] are my best friends,” she says. "Those are the people I talk to every day, that I see every day, and who I love collaborating with because they know me and will be honest with me.” Some of Brown’s most gratifying work has been in partnership with her siblings. She hints at an exciting project she and her brother have in the works, though is mum on any details. She and her sister, Paige, are currently developing and producing a film called A Time Lost, which they hold close to their hearts after writing the script based on a dear friend’s battle with cancer. "We always said her story was so special,” Brown shares. "She was a warrior in so many ways. It’s something that touches everyone and happens in so many families, so I feel [it’s a story] that could maybe help people grieving or speak to people who just want to hear stories that are real and genuine.”

When it came down to who would produce the story with the two sisters, there was only one answer: Netflix. "I knew I wanted to go to Netflix because I knew my story would be told, and in the right way,” Brown says. The mega streamer has been a supporter of her career since the beginning, with a key component of their relationship being Netflix’s respect for her not only as a young person but also as a young woman. The people she works with there encourage her to voice her opinions and write her own stories because they know as well as any of us that Brown is the future of Hollywood.

The entertainment industry is slowly but surely taking steps toward a more inclusive future, inviting more BIPOC, female, and young voices to have a seat at the table. Major networks and streamers are signing deals with young talent to develop original content (most recently, ABC Studios with Yara Shahidi and Hulu with Joey King). Brown is one of the youngest executive producers alongside Marsai Martin. With these fresh voices at the forefront come a fresh perspective and new coming-of-age stories reaching a large corner of the market looking to see themselves represented on screen.

"We are so used to a male-dominated industry, and so having women involved, young women, young people involved, I think we can all work together equally. I believe [that] with equality in this industry, we can make beautiful art,” says Brown. "We can do what we all want to do, which is this craft, and we can do it together. It’s important to have this seat at the table, to be heard, because not only are we young, but we [also] have a lot to say, and we have stories that want to be told. If that’s respected, looked at, and taken seriously, we can do so many things. With Enola, I was producing and also starred in it, and there were men involved in the production of things and plenty of women involved in the production of things. It was such a great collaborative effort and a great example of what Hollywood can look like.”

But Brown isn’t just aiming to make Hollywood a better place—she’s also working toward social change in other spaces. Influence is something Brown has in spades. She is the youngest person to be featured on the Time 100 list of the World’s Most Influential People, and her Instagram account alone reaches over 34 million users worldwide. Understanding the weight of her platform, Brown uses it to speak to causes close to her heart. For instance, she partnered with UNICEF to ensure young people across the globe have access to education. This is an important step, she believes, in giving today’s adolescents an impactful voice for the future. She’s also dedicated to making social media a safer place. "I personally have suffered greatly from cyberbullying,” she tells me, recalling one instance last year when fans were "greatly affected” by her decision to wear a Louis Vuitton coatdress and trousers. "I think [social media] is a place of harassment and negativity. When people go on to my Instagram page, I want them to see someone who is real, who is authentically being themselves, and who is positive and happy.”

Being authentically herself—whether fumbling through an Addison Rae TikTok dance (who else can relate?) or seamlessly toggling between fancy frocks and sleek, tailored moments on the red carpet—is something Brown has mastered over time. She is self-assured beyond her years and the kind of person we need in the driver’s seat for the next generation.

Before our Zoom chat comes to end, I ask Brown one final question about her predictions for the future of Hollywood and where she sees the industry going. A big smile appears on her face as she says, "I hope in a few years, we get to a point where we all just genuinely want to work together, and that comes with a lot of people listening. So as long as that is happening, hopefully, we will be in good shape.” With Brown starting to call the shots, I think we’re well on our way.

Brace yourselves: Stranger Things Season 3 is coming. Well, it's started filming, at least. Today, Millie Bobby Brown shared the link to the first behind-the-scenes video of the highly anticipated season, and it has us more excited than ever. The video, which features the show's signature creepy music, revealed that production began on April 20, so we might have to wait a while for the final product.

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards were yesterday in California, and though we already love her style, Millie Bobby Brown’s outfit caught our attention for a different reason this time. Paired with matching bootleg jeans, the Stranger Things actress donned a denim Calvin Klein jacket, embroidered with the names of the seventeen victims of the Parkland shooting on the back.

In addition to honouring the victims sartorially, Brown also spoke out against gun violence in her speech at the awards show. As she took to the stage to accept her award for favourite TV actress, the young star used her moment in the spotlight to make a political statement.

“As we saw a moment ago, the March for Our Lives demonstrations that took place all over the world today have inspired me and impacted us all in one way or another” Brown said, according to The Independent.“I get to be up here, and I'm privileged to have a voice that can be heard, one that I can use to hopefully make a positive difference and help influence change.”

We’ve noted before how impressed we are by the young actress’ talent and style, but to see her standing up to make a statement on an important issue makes us love her even more. After all, the recent gun control movement taking over the U.S. has been led primarily by high school students, so it seems fitting that Brown, though young, be a spokesperson for the issue. Hopefully the march and support from influential people across the U.S. (like Brown), will incite some level of change; only time will tell. The Calvin Klein F/W 18 presentation in New York City yesterday had a star-studded front row, including stars like Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Paris Jackson, and supermodel Cindy Crawford. Among the big names were also Millie Bobby Brown and Karlie Kloss, who both wore the same cropped leather biker jacket by Calvin Klein—a matching moment that may be the cutest we've seen to date.

Each brought their own distinct styling to the table. Kloss teamed her jacket with elegant black pants, a classic white tee, and white pumps while Brown wore the piece with a velvet Calvin Klein by Appointment skirt over a white turtleneck, grounding the look with white pumps—an outfit that can best be summed up as varsity-chic.

Kloss later took to Instagram to document the cute matching moment, posting two photos of herself with the Stranger Things star. Of course, the duo looked great in their matching leather jackets, but Kloss made it all the sweeter in her Instagram caption, admitting this was the first time she'd met her "crush irl." It's always a treat when stars pull an unexpected style move on the red carpet, whether it be a risk-taking cut or an unexpected color trend. Tonight's red carpet for the Screen Actors Guild Awards is no exception. Actors and actresses showed up in bright, bold looks, giving this red carpet the sense of play we've been looking for.

We're looking at you, Millie Bobby Brown. The Stranger Things actress arrived at the award show in an adorable light pink dress with a high-low hem, a playful hairdo involving ribbons and buns and an unlikely pair of shoes. When it comes to sneakers, it doesn't get any more classic than Millie's pair of pristinely white low-top Converse. And at $50, the casual-cool sneakers are super affordable. Did the actress just singlehandedly make sneakers on the red carpet a thing? Maybe, but we're hardly protesting the style statement.

If you haven’t seen it yet, the internet seems to be collectively freaking out that Millie Bobby Brown and Natalie Portman could be twins. Wondering if the image that’s been circulating (above) could be a one-off, we decided to look through old pictures of Natalie Portman to see if we could spot any more similarities between her and the young actress.

News just in: we can confirm the two do look strikingly similar. They even seem to laugh the same way and use the same poses on the red carpet. The cast members of Stranger Things are fairly young, but they're already making names for themselves in fashion. Millie Bobby Brown's character, in her signature stare pose, rocks a pullover with white shorts, tube socks, and classic tennis shoes. If you don’t know who Eleven is from Stranger Things, just give it a few days. You’ll see tons of her come Halloween. But for everyone else, all the other mega fans of the Netflix series, this news may come as no surprise. As Interview magazine shared today, its November cover star is non other than the show’s 12-year-old breakout star, Millie Bobby Brown.

Like with most young starlets, Brown has been slowing building major fashion cred. See: Brown in Red Valentino at the Emmys, sitting front row at Fashion Week, and making friends with Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. But her Interview cover is a whole new level of recognition and shows a side of the actress familiar to those her love her on-screen persona. Tough, badass, not to be messed with. The only difference? There's a lot more leather in her editorial looks.

The cover—technically the star’s second that she’s graced—is accompanied by an interview conducted by Brown’s own BFF, Maddie Ziegler of Sia-music-video fame. The two young teens talk about everything from sleepover adventures, first kisses, and the unexpected actor who gave Brown her best piece of advice. (Spoiler alert: It’s David Schwimmer.)

Is Millie Bobby Brown a style star in the making? All signs are pointing to yes. Since skyrocketing to fame after the premiere of the Netflix show Stranger Things, Brown has walked the Emmys red carpet, sat front row at the Coach show during New York Fashion Week, and hobnobbed with Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière in Paris. Phew! We almost can't keep up with the cute 12-year-old. But now, you can add yet another thing to that list: she has officially scored her first magazine cover. (What were you doing as a pre-teen?) 

In her shoot for indie art magazine So It Goes, Brown wears a ruffled Chloé skirt, Dr. Martens boots, a Red Valentino blouse, and other pretty pieces. It's safe to say Brown has serious modeling chops, so we expect to see plenty more shoots in the future.

Ever since the premiere of Netflix's Stranger Things, the incredible cast and the characters they play are all anyone can talk about. Teenagers Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo already made their way into the fashion world. They've hung out with Louis Vuitton's Nicolas Ghesquière in Paris (NDB, right?), and the darling of the group, Millie Bobby Brown, just landed a magazine cover. Needless to say, we had an inkling fashion girls will be dressing up as her Stranger Things character, Eleven, this Halloween—and shopping site Lyst has the stats to back it up.

According to Lyst, shopping habits over the past week indicate that the leading ladies of the show have consumers shopping for picks inspired by their characters: "80% of people who searched 'pink collar dress' over the same seven days also searched for 'tube socks'—yes, really," notes the report. Also, one particular ASOS Peter Pan collared dress has been viewed once every 3 minutes, and tube sock sales have spiked 34% this past month.

As for Barb and Nancy, "271 people have typed (just) 'Barb' into the Lyst search bar since the beginning of August," and shearling jacket searches have gone up 223% compared to the same time last year. We don't know about you, but we're totally digging the pink dress–and–jacket combo with a pair of sneakers. Talk about a comfortable and stylish Halloween look!

It seems like everywhere you look, be it the red carpet at the Emmys or the front row at fashion week, the kids of Stranger Things are there. The young actors became household names seemingly overnight thanks to their successful Netflix show. Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo can't drive, but they're living it up in Paris with one of the biggest names in fashion. 

French designer Nicolas Ghesquière of Louis Vuitton posted a couple of photos of himself with the stars at the fashion house's headquarters in Paris. With the City of Light in the background, Millie Bobby Brown looks like a poster spokesmodel in a chic fur-trimmed coat and mirrored shades. "Got strangers in the house today," read Ghesquière's caption. Although there is no official word on the meaning behind the series of photos, Ghesquière does hint at an "exciting project coming up" in a candid second post of the crew. What could it be?
