"Getting anxious," Ashtin Earle deadpans when I ask if she has any pre–fashion show rituals. It may sound trite, but tune in to any one of the 21-year-old's candid "get ready with me" videos and you'll instantly recognize the particular brand of bubbly yet über-relatable that has earned her 1.2 million followers on TikTok. If you count yourself among them—and, let's face it, who wouldn't want to—you'll know that feeling of watching one. It's like being on FaceTime with a close friend: unfiltered, silly, and maybe even a little random.

It may not be her first NYFW, but attending this season hits different now that Earle, a New Jersey native, is a college graduate with a bona fide New York mailing address. We caught up with the social media star as she got ready for the Michael Kors spring 2026 runway show, which marked another full-circle moment—Michael Kors was one of the first luxury handbag brands that she ever owned and the pinnacle of American fashion as far as the Earle household was concerned. But today, she's swapped the logo-stamped backpack of her middle-school era for a sleek belted blazer and micro-shorts moment that recalls the iconic Kors girls of the '90s.

What are your earliest memories of Michael Kors? Did you own anything from the brand growing up or have any item on your wish list?

I think Michael Kors was one of the first American luxury designer brands that I had heard of and owned growing up. I remember for Christmas in 7th grade I got my first-ever Kors item. It was this brown leather backpack with the MK logo all over it, and wearing it truly made me feel like the coolest girl in school.

Talk to me about your look and what inspired it. Who or what are you channeling?

I cannot express how utterly obsessed I am with this look. I really feel like I was channeling the very chic classic '90s Kors girl, but with just a tad more leg.

In what ways did this look speak to you and your personal style? Does it feel true to your everyday style or did it push you outside of your comfort zone?

An all-black look off-the-bat is my style at its very core. I also love a micro-short moment. I used to joke that I was allergic to wearing pants because of how often I’d wear micros. I also tend to include workwear aspects into a lot of my outfits, whether a trouser, blazer, or shirt. So overall, this look was made for me. Although it had all the components of my personal style, the look itself was so cool and unique. It was something I’d never seen before, which is why I was so excited to wear it!

What ­­are some of the beauty (hair, makeup, etc.) decisions you're making to complement your Michael Kors look and bring it to life?

I’m not great at making decisions for hair and makeup, but I told Sandy [Nicha] and David [von Cannon] I wanted something clean, chic, elevated, and classic. I really wanted to let the outfit shine, so we kept my hair nice and smooth behind my shoulders and did a fresh face with a little kitten wing on the eyes.

Do you have any pre-show rituals or traditions?

Getting anxious.

How are you feeling overall this fashion week? Are you feeling any NYFW jitters or have you fallen into a familiar cadence at this point?

I love fashion week, and I feel so lucky that I get to be a part of it. I am literally doing what I have dreamed of my entire life; it’s really crazy to think about. It is definitely a hectic week, but I find the business of it all super exciting, and everything I get to do is so cool. I get a little anxious every time I go to a big event or show, but that’s just because I’m a shy girl at my core. I definitely feel way more comfortable attending shows now than I used to!

What's something unexpected you are doing this fashion week to prepare for shows?

Not preparing. I’ve somehow managed to be so busy that I haven’t had any time to.

Since you call NYC home already, are there any non-NYFW-related things you're making a point to do in between the shows and events?

Pilates! Working out has become my favorite way to disconnect from all the craziness and really focus on myself and clear my mind.

Obviously, Michael Kors has so many iconic looks from over the years. If you could reach into the brand archives, what are you pulling out to wear?

I would pull everything from the '90s runway shows, but a recent look that I was obsessed with was that black open-back suit/gown worn by Suki Waterhouse at the 2025 Met Gala.

On the first official day of New York Fashion Week, Michael Kors commenced the week with an aura of simplicity, warmth, and elegance in his S/S 26 runway show. Floor-to-ceiling windows welcomed a flood of light into Terminal Warehouse in Tribeca as models glided onto the runway in earth tones, aspirational layering, and unlikely but chic accessories. The eponymous brand, known for its takes on luxury married with practicality, unveiled another fresh collection for spring. The messaging: Earth tones aren’t just for fall.

Quiet luxury gets quite loud in this collection, and it’s all in the details for the American designer. Travel is immediately on the mind from the first look: a model wearing a wallet as a necklace layered underneath a large, abstract pendant. Draping and flowing bring to mind ease and sophistication; meanwhile, fringe tassels featured on clothing as well as accessories ring in a glamorous, whimsical energy, even while in neutral tones. Even the suits, while exquisitely tailored, were extremely laid-back, steering the audience into a trance of rest and relaxation.

“The simple truth is that escapism helps us tremendously,” shared Kors in a press release. “So many of us live urban lives, and when you travel, you learn about yourself, you learn about other elegance and sophistication—that’s everything I want this collection to convey,” he continued.

Pendant Necklaces

While handbags were a major accessory on this runway, the saying "hold your cards close to your chest" took on a literal turn with models wearing wallets as necklaces. Pendant necklaces are evolving into even more abstract and conceptual shapes. The Row’s 2023 runway made combs an unlikely necklace trend. While card holders around the neck aren’t a particularly new trend, Kors remixed them in a sophisticated way.

Sequins and Metallics

Sequins continue to reign supreme as the playful element in an outfit on many runways. This time, sequins are married to a soft spring palette, muting them into a subdued, more elevated spirit. Meanwhile, a coated leather trench coat and a liquid gold draped look were revealed, reminding the audience that luxury can still be flamboyant.

Boho Tassels

Bohemian aesthetics were utilized on this season’s runway, with fringe as the main vehicle. From bold, leather earrings in hues of brown, black, and gray to the hemline of a dress, the textured trend brings a playfulness to the runway, evoking the flowiness of travel.

Casual Suiting

Suits, regardless of the season, will always be perfectly tailored at this fashion house, but this season, all the blazers lacked sharp structure in favor of lax, laid-back layering. The energy of spring was felt even against the stark backdrop of the exposed red brick walls of the Terminal Warehouse.

Pajama Sets

Escapism continued to be a running theme in the show with models wearing layers that spoke to not just aspiration but rest. Chic "pajama sets" in lightweight knits and fluid silks graced runway.

Immediately following New York Fashion Week back in February, I made a fall/winter 2024 wish list full of pieces I'd just spotted on the runway. On it were textured midi skirts, funnel-neck outerwear, almond-toe flats, and more. Though I wanted each and every piece at the time (and have either checked most of them off or bought something similar albeit budget-friendlier), one particular trend was and still is my favorite by a mile. Spotted at both Michael Kors Collection and Tory Burch, pony- or calf-hair pieces gave off an air of elegance and luxury that nothing else from the runways could compete with.

At Michael Kors, legendary supermodel Amber Valletta modeled a leopard-print calf-hair midi coat styled with simple black pumps and a timeless clasp-closure lady bag. Her signature blonde hair was pulled back in a tight chignon; the only makeup she appeared to have on was bright red lipstick. I, like many others who I spoke with afterward, was enamored. That same week, Tory Burch sent two looks down the runway that featured the sleek, textured material. One featured a calf-hair blazer and matching pencil skirt and the other showcased a cropped, moto-style jacket made of the fabric styled with khaki trousers. Again, I was sick with want.

A few months after fashion month's final finale walk, two new It bags began sparking conversation around the celebrity and influencer set. Saint Laurent's Le 6 à 7 hobo bag and Bea tote, both crafted out of leopard-print calf hair, were spotted around the world, in Los Angeles on A-listers like Hailey Bieber and Zoë Kravitz, in Paris on Kate Moss and Laura Harrier, and in Monza, Italy, on model and content creator Alexandra Saint Mleux, girlfriend of Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc. Both styles quickly sold out. Though, you can preorder one for delivery at the end of February.

Soon after Saint Laurent's bag boom, a maxi-length pony-fur coat from By Malene Birger began to take off online. Every editor posted photos in it from the fashion closet, while content creators did what they do best—create content—in theirs on the streets in Copenhagen, Paris, and London. Lauren Santo Domingo added it to her Moda Operandi closet—another surefire sign that an item's about to go viral and sell out. It nearly has, with sizes dwindling, though it appears online that a limited restock may be on the way later this month (fingers crossed). More sizes are also available in the cropped version, which is a great alternative if you're not ready to wear leopard-print pony hair from head to toe.

It took a while—and over 1000 runway images—to finally wrap our heads around the contents of fashion month. For the first time in a long time, the runways this fall/winter season had an almost tangible air of newness to them, with a handful of designer debuts—including Daniel Lee at Burberry and Ludovic de Saint Sernin at Ann Demeulemeester—and a number of veterans successfully refreshing their brands in the eyes of the fashion community. Most substantial, though, were the trends presented by these designers and so many more, who managed to deliver some of the most unexpected groupings we've seen in ages that somehow still fit within the current zeitgeist.

In the spring 2023 collections, we saw a focus on dress designs with built-in hoods. This detail will continuing into the fall 2023 collections with pieces ranging from industrial parkas at Prada to dramatic faux-fur outerwear at Bally to uncomplicated hoodies at Miu Miu. The hoods infuse a sense of practicality into pieces ranging from the simple to the ornate, driving home the point that wearability is one of the biggest themes of the fall collections.

We've already seen evidence that hosiery is on the rise, as tights have made a major impact in the wardrobes of celebrities and fashion insiders on the street style set recently. Whether or not you've test-driven the piece, the fall 2023 runways are solidifying the trend even further with styles such as opaque tights worn as pants at Alaïa, fiery-red colorways at David Koma, and fishnet textures at Victoria Beckham. Gucci and Miu Miu also offered up new ways of styling them—instead of tucking them discreetly underneath the outfits, the designers made a point of styling them with low-slung skirts and cardigans tucked in so they're intentionally visible.

Maddie Ziegler is gearing up for an exciting spring. Following her critically acclaimed performance in last year’s drama The Fallout, the 20-year-old is returning to the big screen this March with Bloody Hell. Not only did we get a new season of Only Murders in the Building this week, but we also got to witness its star, Selena Gomez, walk the premiere's red carpet. There to celebrate the popular Hulu show's long-awaited second season, Gomez wore a gorgeous silver sequin gown by Michael Kors Collection, which featured a daring back cutout, asymmetrical sleeves, and a thigh-high slit that showed off a pair of matching strappy sandals by Jimmy Choo. I'll admit that before spending a snowy weekend in NYC last winter, I wasn't truly privy to the wonder that is the puffer coat. Ready or not, the holidays are coming—and this year we're fully embracing the glitz and glamour of the season. Not that we need an excuse to incorporate a little extra flair or sparkle into our looks from November to January, but if there was ever a time to dive head first into festive dressing, that time is now. Oprah Winfrey graces the cover of O, The Oprah Magazine's May issue (and she's the epitome of casual-cool). Just take a look for yourself.

For the cover shoot, Winfrey wore a pair of Michael Kors pants, which she called "fantastic—like pajamas, but with a crease;" a sleek Derek Lam sweater with tie detailing; and a pair of ivory canvas sneakers, the latter of which instantly caught our eye because, well, Oprah in sneakers! But really, because after a bit more digging, we learned the chic ivory shoes are actually super affordable.

Ringing in at just under $90, the canvas sneakers (also available in black, navy, purple, and red) feature a jute-wrapped midsole detailing and are ideal for springtime. They're cute, comfortable, and airy (thanks to the soft and breathable fabric linings, per the product description). Oh, and we can't forget to mention they are also Oprah Winfrey–approved. Jennifer Lawrence just stepped out looking insanely cool in round sunglasses, a leather jacket, and a pair of flared trousers. While Lawrence pulled the pants off perfectly, when we saw them on Nordstrom’s website, we couldn’t help but notice that without the outfit’s other components, they seemed a little… basic. However, the pants did receive 5-star reviews on the site for being both comfortable and flattering. This just goes to show that sometimes the best finds are the unexpected ones. It all comes down to fit and styling, and Jennifer Lawrence’s outfit proves it. That comes as no surprise for the Michael Kors Collection spring 2017 show, which premiered at New York Fashion Week earlier today to a live soundtrack of Rufus Wainwright on the mic—and that wasn’t the only impressive part. As the brand itself put it, “love [was] in the air,” and it was accomplished through an awe-inspiring collection of clothing and accessories rife with florals, pink, and other bright colors, as well as some equally endearing darker moments.

Tommy Ton was a major player in the rise of street style photography, as one of the first photographers to snap editors coming and going from fashion week shows. His latest campaign, captured for Michael Kors, is a true ode to the art of street style photography, featuring fashion icons like Solange Knowles, Soo Joo Park, Nina Agdal and Princess Olympia of Greece on the streets of New York City. The campaign, called "The Walk," highlights the designer’s fall handbags, which the influencers styled with Michael Kors fall ready-to-wear. “It was really a fun experience observing how each girl would make the clothes and accessories their own while still being true to their everyday style,” Ton says.

If you're the type of shopper who lives for a good discount, you might want to listen up. As The Washington Post reports, two major brands, Michael Kors and Coach, have announced that they are cutting back on department store inventory and promotions in order to "put pricing and messaging control back in their own hands" and offer a more exclusive experience to customers. 

The Washington Post explained exactly what the new changes will entail: "Each company announced a bold move this week that they hope will help them get their aura of exclusivity back," the newspaper wrote. "Coach said it plans to pull its products out of more than 250 department stores, a move that reduces its presence in such locations by 25 percent."

Michael Kors has a similar new strategy. The Washington Post says that the brand is scaling back its inventory in department stores and beginning in February, wants to be "excluded from storewide promotions and coupons." So if you've had your eye on a discount Michael Kors bag, now is probably the right time to pull the trigger.
