And just like that, we're halfway through another fashion month. London Fashion Week officially closed on Monday, and the city's biggest show, Burberry, wrapped things up before the style set jet off to Milan for the spring/summer 2027 tour's penultimate stop. London Fashion Week is always one of the season's shorter destinations, but its seamless blend of new talent and established names makes it impossible to skip.

This season was particularly exciting, thanks to the long-awaited return of McQueen. (The brand moved its shows from London to Paris back in 2001, with only a few one-off trips across the pond by former Creative Director Sarah Burton to present her spring/summer 2022 and spring/summer 2023 collections.) Naturally, London welcomed the brand, now under the creative direction of Seán McGirr, back with open arms. McGirr thanked the city by giving its locals a taste of the beloved house's dramatic and high-art aesthetic. Equally exciting was Christopher Kane's debut for Mulberry, another iconic brand from the UK. After shuttering his namesake brand three years ago, the British designer made a triumphant return to fashion, presenting a modern collection for the leather-goods brand from Somerset that had attendees talking and eyeing pieces to shop come spring 2027.

The intrigue continued throughout the four-day event, with unexpected trends like high-low hemlines and "accidentally" visible undergarments presenting themselves at Erdem and Simone Rocha, respectively. Sleek pencil skirts, interesting takes on stripes, and fringe accents also found their way onto the runway. At the end of the day, though, the biggest crowd-pleasers were the dramatic garments that graced the runway at Bora Aksu, Annie's, and more. Quiet luxury is, in fact, dead, or at least, it is in London.

Top London Fashion Week Trends for Spring/Summer 2027

Pencil Straight

Pencil skirts aren't exactly new to the fashion world, but each season, they get better—smarter, if you will. Kane introduced modern takes on the pencil-skirt suit in his Mulberry debut, and Annie's took a Victorian approach, pairing an ivory embroidered pencil skirt with a matching corset-style jacket. At Mowalola, a sexier, less office-friendly route was taken by designer Mowalola Ogunlesi, who paired barely-there leather bras with matching low-rise pencil skirts.

The Drama

No, we're not talking about the Zendaya and Robert Pattinson movie, though the collections this season in London were equally dramatic. Think voluminous shapes, unexpected design elements, and a general sense of whimsy and artistic expression. Erdem's floor-length robes were decorated with feathers and rhinestone embroidery, and at Bora Aksu, modern paillettes were mixed with old crochet techniques and intricate lace, creating a hodgepodge of fabrications.

Seeing Stripes

Stripes aren't the newest trend to hit the fashion circuit. In fact, they're always around. Sometimes, their presence is stronger, and this was one such season when stripes felt impactful in a real way—not a side character unessential to the main plot. Talia Byre's striped wrap dress felt especially cool and effortless, as did all the mismatched stripes at Burberry.

Slippage

The dresses at London Fashion Week all seemed to share one thing: an inability to stay on. Any dress with a thin strap was intentionally styled with one strap anywhere but where it technically belongs. As a result, undergarments were on display, and an emphasis on imperfection was noticeable throughout the shows.

On the Fringes

From extravagant dresses to subtle scarves, fringe found its way into every nook and cranny of London Fashion Week, adding a touch of formality and elegance to everything it touched. The best fringe comes attached to something crafted out of rich silk or velvet—just saying. Leather works too!

Seeking Texture

If you're as excited about the feel of your clothes as you are about the look of them, then this season's dedication to texture will be right up your alley. From shiny fabrics to beading to interesting takes on draping and crocheting, there was a little something for every tactile shopper at the London shows, with highlights appearing at McQueen, Mulberry, and Pauline Dujancourt.

High to Low

I'm usually pretty good at predicting trends, but I did not expect high-low hemlines to make a return ahead of 2027. Yet that's exactly what happened on the runways of London Fashion Week, where asymmetry showed up at Toga, Erdem, and McQueen.

It’s official, London Fashion Week has come to an end, the spring/summer 2027 shows have been presented, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. While Laura Weir lures the heavyweights of British fashion back to home turf as a part of the British Fashion Council’s greater plan to restore London Fashion Week as a must-attend affair, something else has been bubbling under the surface. This season boasted a sea of debuts, and emerging talents finding their feet and getting people talking. London has always been an incubator for out-of-the-box designers; we have some of the most famed fashion schools in the world with graduate shows that capture the attention of the industry. Between London’s taste for disruption and support such as Fashion East and NEWGEN, it’s no surprise that the smaller designers on schedule are able to pull big crowds. We don’t underestimate younger brands here, we embrace them. Here are some brands to pay attention to for SS/27.

6 Emerging Designers From London Fashion Week SS/27 You Need to Know

Agro Studio

Last season was my first Agro Studio show and their first in the official schedule. The collection was moody: a throw together of Leather Daddies, Wuthering Heights, shiny tracksuits, heritage outerwear and the perfect party girl gowns. This season they leaned into couture techniques for a collection titled ‘Glass Body’ which was a study on glass—not just as a material—but as a vessel for light refractions and transparency. Purple acted as a throughline and not just because it’s an ‘It-colour’, but because purple is actually a trick of the light. Outside of violet, purple only exists because of our brains bending the linear light spectrum between red and blue. Backstage the Agro boys described their chosen aesthetic this season as ‘soft club’, which explains the finale soundtrack where Kylie’s Slow was blasted into the Collins Music Hall as the looks received rapturous applause.

Goyagoma

Traiceline Pratt is a name that’s been gaining traction since last season. Pratt is the mind behind Fashion East brand, Goyagoma, which is quickly becoming known for its luxuriously cool outerwear. Even for SS/27 Pratt bestowed one fab coat on us for the final look: A plush, long sheepskin with a voluminous, A-line skirt. Other standout moments from the collection full of elevated, every day pieces were floor length, easy gowns adorned with long, beaded belts. One in green, one in white and quite frankly if you’re reading this as a bride it’s a dress you should consider.

Giu Rosa

If Conner Ives' offering in NY was the Prada, Giu Rosa would be the rebellious little Miu Miu sister. Those same acidic, spring brights took centre stage but the flirty dresses accommodate bare-midriffs and the same peaches and yellows also made an appearance on hair that belonged to last night. The V-neck knits paired with eccentric skirts was a great prequel for the happenings in Milan. Giu Rosa’s ‘Hi, Society’ mantra evokes a gauche perspective on the lavish lifestyles of the privileged few. The looks dismantle expectation and capture that adolescent attraction to anarchy that we often lose along the way. I want to be a Giu Rosa girl!

Liza Keane

I walked into Liza Keane with zero expectations. It was Keane’s debut and I went in blind. Post-show I only had two words: Brutalist Baptism. The show began with men in their drawers painted grey, climbing onto cement blocks and becoming human-scaffolding to hold up lighting and what would become a structure containing water that models passed under and emerged from drenched. The looks were apocalyptic battle dress. Moulded black leather, clear and abstracted latex and all-consuming hoods. For accessories we saw deep bags for carrying arrows and matte motorbike helmets. Imagine if the rapture began during a weekend at Berghain.

Sol Hansdottir

I got to visit Sol’s studio a few days before her on-schedule presentation and she explained that whilst she loved complex pattern-making she was very aware that her clothes had been mostly used for performances, red carpets and editorials. For SS/27 Hansdottir’s driving force was to make ‘clothes to wear to Tesco’. The collection had these open-backed skirts that revealed capris which became a motif. Models dressed themselves as they walked, adding little tops that tied at the back over their baggy tees. Hansdottir's efforts to show an effortless look came through with that live demonstration. Things to throw on as you walk out the door, without sacrificing her creativity.

Francesca Lake

Francesca Lake held a presentation that was a depiction of Jamaican culture that felt like the most clear cut exploration I’ve seen in a while. To be clear, I am not Jamaican, but I am Nevisian and the references to the Bull used in Mas (rooted in Nevisian folklore) were not lost on me. The collection, named ‘Wake The Town’ leans into the idea of procession, masquerade and wake to show a nuance of Black pride and audactity. The looks themselves fused the old with the new creating its own identity. The shoes were Manolo, the poetry was Patois and the collection was a success.

And just like that, London Fashion Week spring/summer 2027 draws to a close. And what a season it was! From the highly anticipated return of two major British houses, McQueen and Mulberry, to the inclusion of some high street greats like M&S and H&M, as well as the continuing plethora of emerging designers such as Ahluwalia, Chopova Lowena and those represented by Fashion East, it was no shortage of fun, frivolity and genuine innovation.

Starting strong with the bigger names, SS/27 had something to prove in London. Under Laura Weir's leadership at the British Fashion Council—where she has made a major impact in what feels like no—this season welcomed Mulberry and McQueen back on the London schedule. Whilst McQueen had been showing in Paris (under creative direction from Seán McGirr), Mulberry hadn't shown at all since 2020, taking a six-year hiatus from ready-to-wear. Where Christopher Kane's first Mulberry collection showcased pieces cleverly representing the shape of the iconic flap of the brand's signature Bayswater bag, the McQueen show was all about the duality of opposing forces: the historical and the modern, the sacred and the subcultural and dark gothicism alongside sultry and soft textures.

Of course we can't mention London and not speak about Burberry, who as always, closed London Fashion Week on Monday evening. Noted by critics as being one of, if not the, best collections by creative director Daniel Lee, it offered everything one wants for spring; light pastels with pretty, feminine flourishes such as sequin and embroidery, as well as a whole new look for the house's iconic trench coat. For example, my personal favourite was one in a light blue organza sheer fabric (one of the most dominant trends of I spotted on the runways), that was covered in embellished beading to look like wisteria.

The organza trench coat wasn't the only outerwear trend noticed. Raincoats—an item often overlooked as one to only be worn for practicality in mind—were everywhere in different shapes, sizes and patterns. Stripes at Roksanda, checks at Mulberry and Burberry, plastic at Natasha Zinko... Who knew this staple could be so chic? Possibly my favourite observation of the week was the popularity of big knickers. They came embellished at Erdem, in leather and silk with appliqué roses at Simone Rocha. Similarly, exposed bras—a trend I predicted would dominate last spring—are still having a moment, which was confirmed by the Prada show in Milan. This falls into our 'Boudoir Dressing' trend, which encapsulates the romance, femininity and nostalgia for the lace lingerie, silky slip dresses and feathered gowns that one might find in a ladies boudoirs in the Golden Age. On the contrary, this trend sits alongside some shows that made a strong case for the return of 2000s rock, indie and emo subcultures, but more on that below...

5 Trends From London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027

1. Boudoir Dressing

2026 has been said to be the year of whimsy, it's also the first time we've seen a strong resurgence of 1920s style since Karl Lagerfeld introduced it again the 2000s at Chanel. And what is more whimsical, more Golden Age-coded, than dressing like one is sat lounging in a plush boudoir. Lace camisole dresses were spotted at Coquette-favourites ssuch as Yuhan Wang, Ashley Williams and Simone Rocha, where as feather boas and opera coats that slung casually off the shoulders were seen at Erdem. Adding to this were exposed lace bras at Chopova Lowena, McQueen and Susan Fang. So if you happen to sleep in something this pretty and fabulous, perhaps you needn't get dressed in the mornings come spring at all.

2. Big Knicker Engery

There's nothing I love more than when fashion is a little provocative, or better yet, silly. The presence, or lack thereof, of clothing on the bottom half, showing off some fabulous pants, was without doubt my favourite trend on the London runways. Where Erdem embroidered their big knicker-shorts with beading and sequin, Simone Rocha offered pairs in leather and silk. Yuhan Wang went filly and checked, and styled at times with two layered together. Natasha Zinko's on the other hand—subversive as ever—came teeny tiny and adorned with a slogan on the front. The memo was clear: put your panties on display, please!

3. Rock Chic 2.0

It's no secret that we've been anticipating the return of Indie Sleaze for some time. Whilst London, in fact all of the UK, was integral to this movement in 2011, I want to make a case for a more specific rock-coded subculture. Welcome, Camdencore (OK, perhaps I've just coined this, but hear me out...)
Indie sleaze might have given us Napoleon jackets and American Apparel, but for SS/27, the rock influences get a little heavier. And it's more than wearing black, leather and skinny jeans. John Richmond showcased punky leather jackets, studded belts and spiked chokers. Richmond also offered slouchy peep toe ankle boots, fascinators and pop-punk pink—very emo-coded. So perhaps we're due a rock revival? Get ready to enter your Avril Lavigne, Ashley Simpson era.

4. Rad Raincoats

Spring may come with the promise of better weather, but we should also know to expect some April showers. As such, the runways delivered something quite practical: raincoats. You might be thinking, "But wait? Raincoats aren't new?" Wait until you see them! These rad raincoat styles are rebranding what you knew about such a functional staple. Embellished at Burberry, checked at Mulberry and plastic at Toga and Keburia, there's protection against the elements no matter what your style. Just be warned, we can't guarantee their waterproofness.

5. Orgasmic Organza

The use of organza was hard to miss, but what I found most compelling was the varying interpretations and uses. Organza's delicate softness most often lends well to ultra feminine creations—see them here put alongside florals and lace at Toga and Simone Rocha—but there were so many other placements that felt genuinely fresh and different. At Mulberry, Kane layered golden and iridescent organza patches one on top of the other to create textured shift dresses. At Ahluwalia, it sat next to fringe, silks and sportswear. Roksanda, Agro Studio and Pauline Dujancourt used organza to create structure, lending a sense of modernity and the avant-garde. But at McQueen, employed organza to give volume to the shoulders, ruffles to the jackets, which when styled with sheer black trousers and a knee-length skirt, felt cool, dark and irreverent. Just like Lee McQueen himself.

For Alexander McQueen, a return to London Fashion Week was never going to be just a change of scenery. The city is inseparable from the house’s identity: Lee Alexander McQueen trained on Savile Row, studied at Central Saint Martins, and built a career around translating the contradictions of British culture—aristocracy and anarchy, ceremony and subversion—into fashion. For spring/summer 2027, Creative Director Seán McGirr brought the brand back onto the official London Fashion Week schedule for the first time in 25 years, staging the collection beneath the Gothic vaults of Lincoln’s Inn Chapel. It was a homecoming but also something of a reset: McQueen is currently sharpening its focus around the categories most central to its heritage, including tailoring and occasionwear thanks to the recent arrival of CEO Gianfranco D'Attis.

Rather than simply mining the archive, McGirr used those foundations to explore his own experience of London—specifically the dissonance between its formal traditions and its unrulier underground. References to Savile Row sat alongside rave culture; impeccably constructed gowns were interrupted by harnesses, sheer lace, metallic surfaces, and deliberately disheveled beauty. McGirr also brought several threads of McQueen history back into the room, reuniting the house with jeweler Shaun Leane and tailor Huntsman while casting women associated with different eras of the brand.

More than anything, it offered a clearer picture of the McQueen McGirr is trying to build—one that understands the power of the house’s past without treating it as something too precious to disturb.

Everything to Know About the McQueen Spring/Summer 2027 Show

A Very British Homecoming

For McQueen, returning to London meant more than staging a show on familiar ground. McGirr used the occasion to reconnect the house with some of the people and institutions that helped shape its visual language in the first place. Jeweler Shaun Leane, whose collaborations with Lee McQueen became some of the most memorable accessories of the designer’s career, returned to work on the collection, while Savile Row tailor Huntsman contributed to several sharply cut looks. Together, those partnerships reinforced the show’s distinctly British sensibility, grounding its more theatrical ideas in the craftsmanship and tradition that have always sat beneath McQueen’s rebellious surface.

Back to the Craft

This collection also felt like a clearer statement of what McQueen wants to prioritize right now. Rather than leaning heavily on the more casual ready-to-wear that has become an important commercial part of the brand, spring 2027 put tailoring, eveningwear, and occasion dressing firmly back at the center. Sculpted jackets, corseted silhouettes, elaborate gowns, and intricate embellishment all underscored the level of craft McQueen is capable of.

What kept the collection from feeling overly formal, however, was the tension built into those clothes: immaculate construction was offset by exposed skin, sheer lace, harness-like details, and styling that felt deliberately undone. The polish was there, but so was the provocation.

McQueen Muses, Then and Now

A return to London naturally invited a look back at the women who have helped define McQueen across generations. The casting brought together current runway fixtures such as Paloma Elsesser with figures who carry a much deeper history with the house, including Karen Elson, whose relationship with McQueen dates back to some of its most iconic early 2000s shows, including the spring/summer 2001 show, Voss.

Ravers of the Underground

If the setting suggested ceremony, the clothes often pointed somewhere far less polished. McGirr drew heavily from London’s underground nightlife and rave culture, using it as a counterpoint to the show’s Gothic surroundings and soundtrack by London-based producer (and friend of Charli XCX) A. G. Cook. Metallic fabrics clung closely to the body, sheer lace was layered over undergarments, and silhouettes often felt deliberately stripped back or slightly disheveled. The references never read as costume, though. Instead, they gave the collection a lived-in energy, as if these clothes were intended to move through a long night rather than simply pose beneath stone arches.

Horns of Beauty

One of the show’s most memorable ideas arrived through the beauty look. Hair was slicked upward into sharp, metallic horn quaffs, eliciting a strong social media response. Rather than polished and glamorous, the models looked slightly depleted and unruly, with grown-in roots and minimal complexion makeup adding to the sense that they had come straight from a night out. It was theatrical without feeling overly decorative and a fitting extension of McGirr’s interest in London’s darker, nocturnal side.

And just like that, London Fashion Week has drawn to a close. Between far too many Blank Street Blondie Matchas, show reports written in the back of our Volvo chariot and endless after parties, this crown jewel event certainly showcased that Great British fashion need not be relegated to the runway. Of course, you’d only need to look at the street style on offer for proof on that front.

From Burberry’s show at Chelsea College of Arts in the West to Sinead Gorey’s soirée at an iconic Shoreditch strip club in the East, the ensembles on display were as eclectic and significant as the façade of the city itself. Take any silhouette spotted on the front row and you’ll realise there is no such thing as a uniform for stylish denizens. As a result, the outfits on display ranged from knitwear encrusted with sequin motifs to pleated skirts speckled with hardware and many a vintage Mulberry Bayswater.

As someone who attended all five days, it’s an understatement to describe the looks that flooded the cobblestone streets and cement pavements before each show as high-octane at its finest. These were ensembles that fired on all cylinders, mixing texture, colour, print and sequin with reckless abandonment. The only rules of engagement were to come as you are, whether that be in ladylike pencil skirts or in low-rise jeans and Ugg Boots, as some stalwart fashion editors were spotted in.

Still, there were a few underlying themes that I noticed running through some of the strongest looks of the week. Long gone are the days where fashion trickles down from the runway. So, it’s only a matter of time before these outfits show up on the runway themselves. But knowing how attuned the stylish tastemakers of London are, I’m hedging my bets on these ensembles cropping up everywhere come October. 1. To Tie For

Style Notes: Given how unpredictable British weather can be in September, it would be unwise to leave the home without a fine-knit jumper or oversized shirt to tide you over when the skies turn grey. Instead of hiding it away, however, the London Fashion Week street style set argued for incorporating it into your look. From Lydia Tár-esque sweaters thrown over shoulders to jumpers tied around the waist à la the Celine spring/summer 2027 men's show, practicality need not be a wanton virtue when you’re running from show to show.

Style Notes: Fashion’s love with polka dots has run its course, with London Fashion Week attendees pledging allegiance to another print: checks. Of course, with Burberry on the schedule, there was always going to be an increase in the heritage brand's trademark Nova Checks. (After all, most shows are presented only a stone’s throw away from the heart of modern tailoring on Savile Row.) From the tuxedo offering at Erdem to the witchy takes outside of Bora Aksu, these are pieces that do a lot of the heavy lifting, literally acting like a suit of armour in a full-throttle week.

4. IDGAF Denim

Style Notes: You can always spot a seasoned fashion editor from a mile away. Instead of chintzy sequins, statement jackets and a hairstyle that’s been gelled to the gods, they wear basic white T-shirts, casual jeans and some variation of an inconspicuous leather jacket. These types of attendees prove that looking your best does not need to come with all the bells and whistles. Sometimes, excessive styling is best reserved for the runway and not the front row.

5. Skirt Chaser

Style Notes: We here at Who What Wear UK have waxed lyrical about printed skirts, specifically our adoration for Versace’s face skirt from Dario Vitale’s sole collection as creative director. At London Fashion Week, we proved to be in good company, with that piece cropping up all over the city. Elsewhere, Chopova Loewena’s trademark carabiner skirts continued to be a hit, especially outside of the bowling alley where they staged their latest show, whilst brocade and jacquard styles seen on Dries Van Noten’s autumn/winter 2026 collection also proved popular.

6. Ruff(led) and Ready

Style Notes: As the runways have indicated, fashion is currently enthralled with all things bohemian. From velvet devoré to oversized glasses, this nomadic and eclectic sensibility is permeating the sartorial zeitgeist, regardless of what aesthetic you identify with. Ruffles are one such motif, cropping up everywhere from Ashley Williams’s oversized and Polly Pocket-esque dresses to the gothic trims of Alexander McQueen dresses.

7. Hold Tight

Style Notes: A little bit Miss Havisham, a little bit Brideshead Revisited. Tights are one of those perennial British staples that are worth their weight in your underwear drawer. With the right colour and denier, they can completely overhaul your look. Cementing that as gospel are the likes of New York-based trend forecaster Mandy Lee, also known as @oldloserinbrooklyn, and British journalist and blogger, Susanna Lau, a.k.a @susiebubble. From optic whites to high-octane blues, this small but mighty staple will always prove useful.

Burberry just closed out London Fashion Week on a high note with its S/S 27 collection. Creative Director Daniel Lee returned to the fundamental, instinctive essence of the British house. "[It's] Burberry at its most soulful," Lee said in the press release. Rather than going back to the basics and repeating the archive, he focused on instinct, authenticity, and humanity.

That simple and foundational approach first showed in the set design. At Chelsea College of Arts, where Burberry has previously presented three collections, the show placed guests on irregularly arranged wooden benches decorated with the house's signature checks. The setting stood out against a stark white backdrop, which also featured a check-printed wooden door that models walked through. "The set design is deliberately exposing," Burberry shares in the press release. "Against this restraint, these clothes read as human rather than perfect—soulful and tactile."

As for the collection, it focused on the brand's classic utility but with a lighter feel. Burberry's staple trench coats remained central, but instead of appearing in their traditional silhouettes, they were reimagined with ruffles, shorter hems, and even embellishments. As Burberry often does for spring, the collection explored different types of outerwear through more relaxed yet equally polished designs. Ruching, collarless leather, and sheer pieces created ease, while button-up shirts and knitwear added everyday wearability.

The color palette also contributed to this soft, youthful mood. Fresh tones were mixed with distinctly British patterns. Notably, the house's signature check appeared only sparingly in the new collection. Instead, a series of prints such as smiley faces, stripes, and gingham, designed in collaboration with the legendary textile designer Celia Birtwell, was on display. If you've been following the spring/summer 2027 runway shows, you might have noticed a through line: the distinctive use of rich textures, especially raised motifs. So far, many designers have explored the interplay among structured form, artisanal handcraft, and vivid color, bringing tactile depth to classic silhouettes. Similar to Tory Burch's S/S 27 collection, Burberry integrated dimensional florals and intricate beaded embellishments across a wide range of silhouettes. The adornments appeared almost like wearable jewelry, strategically layered atop leather trench coats, short-sleeved button-down shirts, midi column dresses, and pencil skirts. Classic sequins and paillettes also adorned skirts and pumps. Most notably, the color combinations of the embellishments and the garments were unexpected but elegant. Daniel Lee paired bold hues like blue with orange, dark green with lime green, and yellow with pink.

The Birtwell Effect

To mark Burberry's 170th anniversary, Lee wanted to collaborate with Birtwell, whose prints epitomize the '60s and '70s. Rather than drawing from her archive, Birtwell created an entirely new set of graphics. From quirky smiley faces scattered across knitwear and shoes to floral prints rendered with beautiful 3D embellishments on utilitarian outerwear and midi dresses, her patterns helped define the collection's story and color palette. But that's not all. Burberry's House Check resolved into gingham and even stripes. "It's a creative collaboration rooted in experimentation," Burberry says in the press release. It's also a partnership that weaves together the label's classic codes with Birtwell's sense of joy.

Controversially Cool Styling

There are many fashion pairings that have long divided opinion. One of them is socks worn with heels. Some say the look evokes a school uniform, while others feel it's reminiscent of the retro punk era from the '80s. But to Burberry, the look feels surprisingly modern. On the runway, the Somerset pumps, some embellished with sequins and 3D florals, were styled with socks for a playful, youthful mood. Calf-length ribbed socks in beige or black softened the tailored separates, adding subtle dimension and contrast to the pared-back ensembles.

Fresh Tones

As the brand put it, the collection itself felt "more character-driven than ever." This was emphasized through fresh colorways. While neutral hues like brown, white, gray, black, and beige made up most of the collection, data-driven Instagram account Tagwalk reported that over 38% featured vibrant colors, including shades like pastel orange, pink, yellow, apple green, and cobalt. Amid the earth tones, these bright hues felt like a distinct departure from Burberry's established aesthetic but still remained true to the brand's identity.

Lightness prevailed over the final day of London Fashion Week, with an unceremoniously British blue sky looming above as Daniel Lee unveiled his spring/summer 2027 collection for Burberry. The English designer, back on home soil for a few seasons now, has made it a part of his design methodology to toy with the elements, be it the earthy setting of summer festivals like Glastonbury, the lanolin-coated interiors of greasy spoons or the misty and moody banks of the Thames after dark.

Burberry Spring/Summer 2027 Review:

This time around, he took a more sprightly note with an uplifting palette and optimistic embellishments that proved, when the sun is high and the air is still, the United Kingdom is an especially superb place to be. This notion of serenity was woven throughout the entire collection, from embroidery that mimicked the native wildflowers that grow in abundance in country meadows, to verdant tennis lawn greens that garner international attention and even the strawberries and cream that become a staple cuisine this time of year.

As Lee himself claimed, this collection was Burberry at its most soulful. Over 61 looks, including one modelled by rapper Central Cee, Lee looked to the fundamentals of British dress, something the house has been setting a precedent for since 1856. “There’s an intentional imperfection: the idea of owning a piece, living in it.” Lee continues, acknowledging that these silhouettes were a return to “something instinctive… something felt…something true.’

The beauty of British dressing lies in its rebellion. Though the pieces felt quite put together, there was a relaxed undertone permeating each ensemble. Instead of structured trench coats, energetic anoraks with parachute-like volume added bounce and dimension to pastel dresses. Slip dresses were ornamented with sequins in sweet-shop tones, borrowing from the playbooks of Dries Van Noten and Miuccia Prada, albeit rendered in a way that felt completely British as they rivalled Mimosa buds and lavender fields.

There was an adjunct note of heritage too, especially through the tailoring and sportswear that was on display. If anything, it felt more youthquake-inspired, with pieces intended to look like they had been borrowed from a grandparent’s wardrobe with baggy fits and vintage cuts. This latter note underpinned the entire collection, with Lee looking to Burberry’s archives. Indeed, running across it all is Celia Birtwell, the British textile artist whose prints defined the look of the 1960s and 1970s.

A pioneer of print and best friends with David Hockney, her own visual language became a reference point for Lee to mine the signature Nova Check. Here, this print becomes distilled into clean lines and geometric space, like the seats guests sat on that evoked the animation style of Disney’s London in this era, as seen in films like 101 Dalmatians. The soundtrack reinforced this notion of nostalgia crashing with modernity, as David Bowie’s atmospheric and all-encompassing quality backdropped it all. Slightly hedonistic, entirely individualistic, these pieces evoked a bygone era of Mary Quant, King’s Road and Biba fashion boutique.

After nearly a decade off the London Fashion Week schedule, Mulberry made its runway return this afternoon under the new leadership of industry veteran Christopher Kane.

For many in fashion today, a first taste of fashion joy may well have come in the form of a Mulberry Bayswater bag. As synonymous with the 2010s as the ankle boots and skinny jeans worn alongside it, the British label has long held a particularly soft spot in the hearts of those who grew up with it. Its return to the LFW schedule was therefore always going to draw a crowd, bringing together some of the industry's biggest names for Kane's much-anticipated debut.

The collection was tempered and assured, honing in on a fabrication that has long been central to the house: leather. It appeared everywhere, from dresses, coats and skirts to trousers, lapels, bags and shoes, cut into structured silhouettes that echoed the precision of Mulberry's accessories. Bayswater-inspired cut-outs framed dresses and jackets, while a subdued palette of black, brown, cream and grey kept things refined against clean lines and decisive draping.

Far from frothy, the collection's pared-back palette and structured shapes gave it a distinctly practical sensibility, reflected in the leather goods that helped build Mulberry's reputation. XXL bags brought both humour and functionality, while vinyl trench coats and exaggerated, puffed-up hoods added a playful edge to the otherwise considered collection.

There was room for a little after-dark glamour, too, though strictly no glitter. Instead, iridescent dresses were sliced into clever layers, offering a more grown-up take on disco dressing that caught the light with every movement.

A confident return to the Mulberry spirit: distinctly British, deeply rooted in craft, and grounded in the pieces that made the house a fashion fixture in the first place. Under Kane, Mulberry is rediscovering what made it so beloved—and giving those signatures a sharper, more contemporary edge.

There's a balance to be struck when creating to the theme of romance. Where passion and agony meet yearning, limerence and lust, Simone Rocha takes a tender approach, allowing the many faces of love—of devastation and elation—to permeate her collection with precision and poise.

"I'm trying to love you" topped the notes for her spring/summer 2027 collection, which explored the nature of love and beauty. The starting point was Caravaggio's masterpiece The Taking of Christ, a painting famously rediscovered in Dublin after around 200 years, having long been considered a copy of the lost original. Simone Rocha drew from its rich history and the idea of finding "the most beautiful thing in an unexpected place".

Set at London's Old Bailey, the show's setting reinforced Simone's concept, whilst the building's sinuous arches echoed the fluid fabrics and sculptural cuts that followed, as a procession of romantic looks swept through the room. Roses are undoubtedly back, appearing in thick strokes across necklines and climbing towards the head to form rosette-embellished hoods, whilst rose embroidery crept across sheer tulle dresses. Drop-waist hems drew on Rocha's enduring ballerina influence, whilst kitten Perspex heels and PVC wedges stood along ballet flats—Cinderella gone bad.

Clutching shawls, bags and jackets, models physically embodied the act of clinging and yearning. With Sense and Sensibility soon to grace screens, period drama-worthy gowns felt particularly timely.

Naturally, wardrobe staples received the Simone Rocha treatment, too, with bomber jackets styled with tailored Bermuda shorts. A delicate palette of lilac, black, cream and pink softened the collection, whilst the drama extended to beauty: embellished eyebrows framed flushed faces and velvet lips painted deep pouts. Hair was either gracefully draped or swept back with precision, echoing the artwork that inspired the collection.

Finding beauty in the unexpected, Rocha's latest collection delivered the bubble hems, ruffle finishes, powdery palette and intensely feminine styling we've come to adore from her. As ever, her vision of femininity remained remarkably strong.

Ask any far-flung Brit who's spent time on distant shores what British delights they're most eager to return to, and some sweet or salty M&S treat is almost certain to be mentioned. So embedded in British culture, the behemoth brand's place amongst London's most impactful designers at London Fashion Week feels like a given. Yet this week's runway show marked the label's first official encounter with LFW. Overdue, or perfectly timed? Its inclusion in the schedule coincides with Marks & Spencer's 100th year of fashion—a fitting moment to make its debut.

The milestone was met with all the glamour you'd expect. Hosted at Kensington High Street's London Design Museum, the multi-floor experience showcased 59 ready-to-shop designs across womenswear and menswear.

And ready-to-wear they certainly were. Standout looks ranged from evening-ready staples to seductive, subdued lingerie-inspired pieces, styled to peek out just so beneath sharp tailoring in a way that felt genuinely suited to the capital the brand has long served. Elsewhere, gowns caught the light as a procession of genuine stars took to the runway. Oasis fans will have clocked Lennon Gallagher's telltale bushy brows as the young singer modelled a grey suit styled with a tonal knit, whilst Lara Stone, Erin O'Connor, Jodie Kidd and Karen Elson appeared throughout. Celebrity spilt over into the front row, too, where Joan Collins, Jessie Ware, Pixie Geldof and Anaïs Gallagher were among the guests.

Setting the tone for the trends Londoners will genuinely be wearing this season, boho-inspired silhouettes were woven throughout the collection, while Americana-inspired tailoring nodded towards denim and suede as two of the season's defining fabrications.

So few institutions feel as entrenched in the fabric of British culture as Marks & Spencer, making its arrival at London Fashion Week feel like an overdue acknowledgement of its place within British fashion. A century into its fashion story, Marks & Spencer is ready to write its next chapter—with London standing behind it.

There are few brands that cater to the demands of the modern wardrobe like H&M, which makes the brand’s place in the London Fashion Week calendar feel particularly apt. Its collections are among those the city’s fashion set will genuinely be reaching for over the coming months—and, as this season proved, H&M certainly knows how to put on a show.

Unveiled in three parts, H&M’s Autumn 2026 collection brought together pieces from the H&M Studio and H&M Atelier lines. Setting the tone, Brazilian ballerina Ingrid Silva cast a romantic light across the runway before Alex Consani appeared in a sheer lace blouse, slim white trousers and cream jacquard heels.

Part ballet, part play—entirely theatrical, the show retained a sense of yearning romance that thrummed throughout. The collection carried its own romantic, whimsical edge, calling on natural references through draped florals and spiderweb-like sheerness, creating a ground, distinctly gothic-romantic mood. Ruffles tapped into the wider Victorian influence resonating across the season, whilst the shoes brought a softer, more polished finish to the looks, with richer fabrications, including leathers and denims grounding the collection’s more ethereal elements.

"This show is a celebration of creativity, and of human relationships. I wanted to create something that felt romantic, emotional, human and painterly, all while experimenting with new technologies. My mission throughout my career has been to push the boundaries of fashion and stay curious about the next thing. I’m excited that H&M shares that vision.” Spoke Nick Knight, Founder and Director, SHOWstudio, who was brought in as Creative Director of the show.

As technology’s influence on fashion continues to deepen, H&M merged the physical and digital worlds to generate fashion films in real time. The resulting interplay between physical and digital, past and future, made for an immersive experience that felt both rooted in the romance of fashion and distinctly otherworldly—a fitting backdrop for a collection that looked straight towards what we’ll be wearing next.

The first drop of H&M’s Autumn 26 womenswear collection, as well as the H&M Atelier menswear collection, were made available to See Now, Buy Now on 17 September across H&M’s online channels.

Any fashion fan knows that little else can get the heart racing quite like tracking down a rare, pre-loved piece. Between the hunting, the bidding and the winning, few thrills come close. Translating this intimate moment, so often confined to shopper and screen, eBay’s Endless Runway brought the scroll to the streets, showcasing an edit of archival pieces plucked straight from the wardrobes of some of fashion’s most influential dressers.

Back for its third year, eBay’s live shoppable runway arrived at London Fashion Week with a cast of fashion and cultural creatives, each drawing from their own wardrobes and creative worlds to respond to this year’s theme, ‘Forever’. The question was simple: what deserves to live forever? The answers came in the form of pre-loved pieces with stories, history and plenty of mileage still left in them.

If anyone can get a party started, it’s Raven Smith, who took to the microphone to host the live, shoppable show. Contributing a pair of Auralee Leather Trousers (£200) himself, costume designer Sandy Powell CBE offered up a vintage nightgown once worn by Scarlett Johansson in The Other Boleyn Girl. Elsewhere, Daisy Edgar-Jones put an Acne Studios Red Crochet Dress (£120) up for grabs, while Harry Lambert contributed a Prada S/S 12 shirt and Jean Paul Gaultier’s Mona Lisa mesh top.

Styled by eBay’s Pre-Loved Styling Team, archival finds were paired with contemporary pieces, shattering conceptions that pre-loved pieces ought to be treated as museum artefacts. Powder pink, one of the season’s key colour trends, appeared throughout; meanwhile, Chanel tweed floated down the runway alongside denim.

Tapping into the thrill of the find, eBay skirted the usual months and months of waiting for these looks to reach stores, allowing viewers to shop each look in real time through eBay Live as it appeared on the catwalk.

Just moments ago, Marks & Spencer made its London Fashion Week debut. The new collection celebrates 100 years of fashion at the high street powerhouse, and just as the last model exited the runway, the new collection dropped. Already, the site is alight with shoppers scouring the digital shelves for the new releases, but I have the inside scoop. Before it even hit the runway, I had the chance to try on the new collection, and I've already selected the pieces that are sure to make autumn dressing instantly more polished.

With a century of legacy, the new collection is a celebration of the very best of Marks & Spencer's fashion history. From the current best-sellers of today to archival styles from decades ago, the brand is calling out the best styles, reconfigured in palettes and detailing to bring them firmly into 2026. It's a unique position to be in to lean into the throwback trends of today and reference your own brand's history, but that's exactly what Marks & Spencer has done.

For autumn/winter 2026, Marks & Spencer is ticking off all the occasions in your calendar with a curated edit of polished pieces. For day, you'll see the return of excellent denim, from sculpted barrel-leg silhouettes to classic wide-leg styles with playful twisted seams, as well as the return of the best-selling barrel trousers in a fittingly autumnal khaki hue. To ease us into the cooler months, knitwear is back in sumptuous finishes and an array of shades from minimalist neutrals to standout shades. Alongside, Marks & Spencer brings a selection of capsule wardrobe heroes to the fore, ready to work hard over the coming months, from classic long-sleeved turtleneck tops to a crisp white shirt with a cinched silhouette to bring a modern edge.

In line with autumn's arrival, a series of sleek outerwear stepped out on the runway. Leather bomber jackets, cosy aviator jackets and sleek coats were the refined finishing touches to both day and evening looks. I had the chance to try them on, and was particularly drawn to the flight jacket that is an M&S heritage piece, brought back decades later as it's proven to be just that timeless. Alongside, there's the wool coat with a bold funnel-neck collar and sweet frog-fastening accents, and my eye was immediately drawn to the black faux fur coat. The silhouette is classic, with a refined finish which could easily ensure any onlooker mistakes it for designer—I certainly did.

To round off our wardrobes, Marks and Spencer turns its attention to eveningwear. Think the reinvented tuxedo, which I tried in sleek black but also comes in a tactile tweed, another reference to an archival favourite. I also tried on a sleek jumpsuit with soft pleating, and ever since this fitting I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. The draped shape is eye-catching, comfortable and offers an instantly refined outfit for your dressier autumn plans; you simply need to add a pair of heels and grab one of the new clutch bags. Yes, you definitely need to take a peek at the sophisticated bags on offer this season.

While I definitely get excited to see the fashion month shows from the major houses, one of the things I look forward to the most every season are the up-and-coming brands. They’re the ones that usually leave me feeling the most inspired, from the unbridled collections to the shows that feel more like performance art. It's a special time to discover something new, whether it’s a familiar name continuing to challenge conventions or coming across a designer I haven’t heard of before.

This kind of discovery is one of my favorite parts of my work, and fashion month is the perfect time for it. As runways always do, this inevitably influences the ways we think about shopping for the season ahead.

For S/S 25, I wrote about the emerging designers that I loved at New York Fashion Week. This season, I'm expanding my focus to the entire F/W 26 fashion month calendar. Below, shop the designers that stood out to me on the latest runways across every city, from Copenhagen to Paris.

Fashion Month F/W 26 Emerging Designers

Brands to remember: Nicklas Skovgaard, OpéraSport, Caro Editions, Paolina Russo

Copenhagen Fashion Week consistently has some of the coolest brands in any market. This season, Nicklas Skovgaard, OpéraSport, Caro Editions, and Paolina Russo especially caught my eye. For me, Caro Editions truly epitomized the glamorous dressing trend, and it was one of the standout collections of the week. I’m also currently eyeing an OpéraSport baseball hat or bag for myself.

Brands to remember: Gabe Gordon, Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, Mel Usine, Jane Wade, Colleen Allen, Pipenco

Living in New York, my hometown fashion week is, of course, New York Fashion Week. At Gabe Gordon, knitwear remains the signature, and there was a timely nod to ice skating as well. Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen’s post-show press release cited “pre-industrial pregnancy corsets, sanitary belts, and maternity wear” as references, with materials like secondhand linens and vintage nylon bringing that vision to life.

Mel Usine, which debuted this past spring, continued building on its foundation with a second collection drawing from historical research, French lore, and medieval dressing. And Jane Wade’s The Summit brought her workwear lens outdoors, leaning into performance and expedition wear, including a shoe collaboration with Sorel.

Others who left the biggest impression on me include Colleen Allen, who has become one of the most beloved names at NYFW for editors, and Pipenco, a one-of-a-kind fantastical line designed by Romanian designer Lorena Pipenco.

London Fashion Week truly might be my favorite part of the fashion month calendar. I like seeing what Avavav does each Milan Fashion Week. The label consistently puts on theatrical (and often satirical) shows with an absurdist approach to design. Founded in Florence and now based in Stockholm, it’s become known for its tongue-in-cheek runway presentations, and this season was no different. Beyond that, Florania, Institution by Galib Gassanoff, and Casa Preti were also particularly memorable.

Along with LFW, Paris Fashion Week has my heart. Some of the highlights included baby blue tights at Julie Kegels, a makeshift bra made of teacups at Hodakova, jaw-dropping, over-the-top couture-inspired looks at Matières Fécales, and an unexpected twist on bridalwear (with a baby's breath bouquet) at Vaquera, as pictured above. In terms of incorporating these brands into my own wardrobe, Vaquera's Pretty Boy T-Shirt, which has a graphic of a Chihuahua (my favorite dog), is currently on my wish list.

With spring finally here, most of us are probably focusing on what to wear for the new season. However, in the capital of the UK, all eyes were on autumn/winter 2026 as London Fashion Week was the talk of the city. And whilst most of the talk over fashion month has been about what was trending on the runways (which you can hear our thoughts here), I couldn't help but notice all of the chic street style looks as well. And this, of course, includes the cool outfits I spotted on my fellow editors.

The Who What Wear UK editors made their way around London in stylish but practical outfits suited to navigate the numerous runway shows and presentations, as well as to celebrate our own 10-year anniversary party (thanks to the Kiyori Bar at Aki London). As ever, we travelled from show to show with our beloved Volvo Black Edition XC90 and our driver (shout out to Krys!), who was always on hand to take us from A to B, or take our much-needed outfit pics. From shows to presentations, coffee pick-ups and parties after-dark, whether we were heading west for the ultra-luxury brands or travelling to east of London to discover up-and-coming designers, or dodging the (very predictable) UK showers, Volvo got us around in style.

Style Notes: "When it comes to LFW outfit prep, my first thought is practicality. We all know London isn't known for its balmy, tropical weather, so the prospect of travelling from end to end of the city in thin layers is a no-go for me—enter the statement coat. A coat like this is the outfit (thank you, Karen Millen), and such an amazing print needed very little else to make it fashion week-ready. My staple kitten heel boots go with just about every outfit, and when I saw this incredible pink Prada Supernova bag at The Handbag Clinic, I knew it had to feature somewhere, and as it turns out, it made surprisingly good sense with a zebra print." - Remy Farrell, fashion editor

Style Notes: "London was set for another day of drizzle, so a chic raincoat felt like an obvious option. Far from the dowdy styles I reach for when dashing out for a rainy walk to Sainsbury’s, Damson Madder’s checkered design brought a welcome sense of whimsy—perfectly suited to a day spent admiring London talent. I paired it with capri pants—another comfort-led choice—,but the cropped proportions added a touch of intrigue to the silhouette.
