While I definitely get excited to see the fashion month shows from the major houses, one of the things I look forward to the most every season are the up-and-coming brands. They’re the ones that usually leave me feeling the most inspired, from the unbridled collections to the shows that feel more like performance art. It's a special time to discover something new, whether it’s a familiar name continuing to challenge conventions or coming across a designer I haven’t heard of before.

This kind of discovery is one of my favorite parts of my work, and fashion month is the perfect time for it. As runways always do, this inevitably influences the ways we think about shopping for the season ahead.

For S/S 25, I wrote about the emerging designers that I loved at New York Fashion Week. This season, I'm expanding my focus to the entire F/W 26 fashion month calendar. Below, shop the designers that stood out to me on the latest runways across every city, from Copenhagen to Paris.

Fashion Month F/W 26 Emerging Designers

Brands to remember: Nicklas Skovgaard, OpéraSport, Caro Editions, Paolina Russo

Copenhagen Fashion Week consistently has some of the coolest brands in any market. This season, Nicklas Skovgaard, OpéraSport, Caro Editions, and Paolina Russo especially caught my eye. For me, Caro Editions truly epitomized the glamorous dressing trend, and it was one of the standout collections of the week. I’m also currently eyeing an OpéraSport baseball hat or bag for myself.

Brands to remember: Gabe Gordon, Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, Mel Usine, Jane Wade, Colleen Allen, Pipenco

Living in New York, my hometown fashion week is, of course, New York Fashion Week. At Gabe Gordon, knitwear remains the signature, and there was a timely nod to ice skating as well. Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen’s post-show press release cited “pre-industrial pregnancy corsets, sanitary belts, and maternity wear” as references, with materials like secondhand linens and vintage nylon bringing that vision to life.

Mel Usine, which debuted this past spring, continued building on its foundation with a second collection drawing from historical research, French lore, and medieval dressing. And Jane Wade’s The Summit brought her workwear lens outdoors, leaning into performance and expedition wear, including a shoe collaboration with Sorel.

Others who left the biggest impression on me include Colleen Allen, who has become one of the most beloved names at NYFW for editors, and Pipenco, a one-of-a-kind fantastical line designed by Romanian designer Lorena Pipenco.

London Fashion Week truly might be my favorite part of the fashion month calendar. Beyond the household names like Burberry and Vivienne Westwood, I always love keeping up with the designers coming out of Central Saint Martins, along with the other emerging brands that show each season. For F/W 26, my top shows were Conner Ives, Chopova Lowena, Tolu Coker, Petra Fagerström, Pauline Dujancourt, and Lucila Safdie, many of which can be shopped at Nordstrom, Net-a-Porter, and Farfetch.

Brands to remember: Avavav, Florania, Institution by Galib Gassanoff, Casa Preti

I like seeing what Avavav does each Milan Fashion Week. The label consistently puts on theatrical (and often satirical) shows with an absurdist approach to design. Founded in Florence and now based in Stockholm, it’s become known for its tongue-in-cheek runway presentations, and this season was no different. Beyond that, Florania, Institution by Galib Gassanoff, and Casa Preti were also particularly memorable.

Along with LFW, Paris Fashion Week has my heart. Some of the highlights included baby blue tights at Julie Kegels, a makeshift bra made of teacups at Hodakova, jaw-dropping, over-the-top couture-inspired looks at Matières Fécales, and an unexpected twist on bridalwear (with a baby's breath bouquet) at Vaquera, as pictured above. In terms of incorporating these brands into my own wardrobe, Vaquera's Pretty Boy T-Shirt, which has a graphic of a Chihuahua (my favorite dog), is currently on my wish list.

With spring finally here, most of us are probably focusing on what to wear for the new season. However, in the capital of the UK, all eyes were on autumn/winter 2026 as London Fashion Week was the talk of the city. And whilst most of the talk over fashion month has been about what was trending on the runways (which you can hear our thoughts here), I couldn't help but notice all of the chic street style looks as well. And this, of course, includes the cool outfits I spotted on my fellow editors.

The Who What Wear UK editors made their way around London in stylish but practical outfits suited to navigate the numerous runway shows and presentations, as well as to celebrate our own 10-year anniversary party (thanks to the Kiyori Bar at Aki London). As ever, we travelled from show to show with our beloved Volvo Black Edition XC90 and our driver (shout out to Krys!), who was always on hand to take us from A to B, or take our much-needed outfit pics. From shows to presentations, coffee pick-ups and parties after-dark, whether we were heading west for the ultra-luxury brands or travelling to east of London to discover up-and-coming designers, or dodging the (very predictable) UK showers, Volvo got us around in style.

A coat like this is the outfit (thank you, Karen Millen), and such an amazing print needed very little else to make it fashion week-ready. Style Notes: "London was set for another day of drizzle, so a chic raincoat felt like an obvious option. Far from the dowdy styles I reach for when dashing out for a rainy walk to Sainsbury’s, Damson Madder’s checkered design brought a welcome sense of whimsy—perfectly suited to a day spent admiring London talent. I paired it with capri pants—another comfort-led choice—,but the cropped proportions added a touch of intrigue to the silhouette. From there, I kept the styling simple: oversized earrings, a tote roomy enough to stow my laptop for in-between-show writing, and a pair of understated black mules to finish." - Natalie Munroe, news writer

Style Notes: "It's important to note that Remy and I did not discuss our outfits ahead of getting dressed that morning, but were happy with the coincidence. The accessories are the MVPs in this outfit here—I love animal print, especially zebra right now, so the boots speak for themselves. The Chanel bag is one I sourced from eBay, it's from 2006 and one of the best secondhand purchases I've ever made. The wrap coat jacket and leather midi skirt are both from Massimo Dutti, I wanted something simple to wear so my accessories and footwear could shine. 4. Denim Jacket + Jeans + Loafers

Style Notes: "Fashion week is a high-impact spectator sport. Those on the sidelines—well, front row in this case—aren’t just tasked with being passive observers, but are invited to get amongst the action and involved with the proceedings from the runway. This often entails even the most senior of editors sprinting to show, dashing across the city, and even madly dashing to find their seats à la Sofia Coppola at Chanel’s spring/summer 2026, should they be caught up in the minutia that is daily traffic. For this season, I almost wanted to lean into the energetic and fast-paced nature of the week even more by dressing with function in mind, whilst of course keeping things stylish.

Reaching for a double denim set from Australian brand With Jéan—I’m from Sydney after all, so it’s always special to style something homegrown and spotlight it on the international stage—I felt prepared for whatever the day brings in this effortlessly polished and practical uniform. A Canadian Tuxedo is actually the closest thing to a tastemaker’s uniform—just look at the personal style of Interview Magazine’s Mel Ottenberg—so wearing one out and about did really make me feel equipped for anything. 5. Bomber Jacket + Mini Skirt + Brogues

Style Notes: "As much as I admire the innate “Londonness” about the eclectic styling flocking the streets during London Fashion Week, I always try to keep my week's worth of fits as me as possible. And above all, comfort and warmth are key. Now, I know I say this in a mini-skirt funnel-neck ensemble, but trust me, there was method to my madness. With little time in the schedule, any seasoned Fashion Week goer knows the tube or walking is often the best way to get around. And, in the mayhem, it's rather easy to work up a sweat. So, any iteration of a skirt is a fail-safe way to keep cool. But then, you typically are waiting outside whilst waiting for the shows to start, and the weather in London, especially in February, can be a tad chilly. So, this is where my practical yet on-trend funnel-neck jacket comes into play. Not only did it keep me cosy, but it provided that cool-girl “London” edge the season is known for. Finishing with a derby, a shoe practical enough for the 10,000 steps you’re likely to achieve. 6. Trench Coat + Shirt + Skirt-Trousers

Style Notes: "In classic London style, it was raining on day 2 of fashion week, so my outfit centred around practicality. I’ve had this raincoat for years and wanted to give it a preppy spin with a shirt and tie, paired with this grey pleated skirt/trouser hybrid to lean even further into the school uniform vibe. To finish it off, fashion week for me isn’t complete without a fun accessory, so I topped it off with a fun, fluffy hat." - Megan Storey, social media editor

Even though she's passed the Vogue U.S. baton to Chloe Malle, Anna Wintour retains her perch at the top of the fashion industry. She's still the global editorial director of Vogue and the global chief content officer of Condé Nast, so she has plenty of people to manage, deadlines to meet, and advertisers to court. Her outfits, however, are one thing she doesn't have to worry about. Why? Because she relies on a tried-and-true uniform that she never wavers from. In the winter, her formula consists of a long coat, a printed dress, and tall snakeskin boots. Oh, and her precisely sheared bob haircut and oversize black sunglasses, of course.

During the fall 2026 runway season in London and Milan, Wintour has been changing her coats and dresses to attend different shows, but hasn't strayed from her favorite snake-print heeled boots, of which she owns a few variations. I'm sure she has every shoe designer in the world at her beck and call, but she's not willing to ditch her reliable boots. If it's not broken, why fix it? And just like that, we’ve wrapped on another season of London Fashion Week. And as ever, this year provided many unmissable moments, trends, hero items and collaborations worth knowing about. From a surprise appearance from none other than King Charles III, who was sat on front row for Tolu Coker’s first runway show, to a surprise performance from Little Simz, as well as Burberry’s showcase that left us all feeling like London is well and truly back on the fashion map, this season brought much excitement.

Whilst one of the "Big Four" major fashion cities, London is seen more as a hub for emerging talent and cult designers, there were still some must-see collections from bigger brands. Erdem and Emilia Wickstead, forever legends on the London schedule, debuted another season of house signatures. For Erdem, the focus was texture, brocade and romance for its 20th anniversary, with Emilia Wickstead showcasing her usual refined elegance, with a few unexpected contemporary details.

Adding to the excitement, Joseph made a grand return to London, debuting its A/W 26 collection at the Tate Modern. A brand known for its minimalist sensibilities, it pushed its own house boundaries to present "quiet luxury 2.0". Whilst staying true to Joseph’s DNA, it provided all the components of a timeless capsule wardrobe, with some surprise details. Rhinestone-clad separates, beaded knitwear and molten gold statement jewellery felt fresh for the season ahead.

Post-show talks amongst the team brought up several mentions of dresses. For a few years now, it has seemed that fashion has favoured skirts, suits and separates in general, but this time, London welcomed back the one-piece. From classic gowns at Richard Quinn, Erdem and Emilia Wickstead, to some surprising styles seen at Simone Rocha and Conner Ives, I woke up that Tuesday morning to find the note "power dresses are back!" typed on my notes app. Go figure!

Of course, it would be remiss to talk about the big brands without mentioning Burberry, which closed London Fashion Week at Old Billingsgate Market. Focusing on the city’s rainy weather as a theme, the collection was all about its iconic trench coat, but this time, creative director Daniel Lee was offering versions we hadn’t seen before. Indeed, all the celebrity guests, from Skepta to Alexa Chung, Stella Starsgaard to Daisy Edgar-Jones and Kate Moss, were wearing a different iteration of the show’s star piece. Naturally, it had been raining in London for several days, so this collection felt like it could almost be see-now, buy-now.

But whilst London may not have as many of the bigger design houses on its roster, it is home to some of the most impressive young talent in fashion. Grace Wales Bonner, Martine Rose, Chopova Lowena and Conner Ives are just some of the designers who made their way through the London circuit, many of them coming from the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN programme.

So here, when collating the eight trends I spotted on the ground whilst darting between shows, presentations and the occasional party (or three), I’ve compiled a list that encompasses not only the big hitters but the emerging talent you need to have on your radar for A/W 26.

8 Trends From London Fashion Week A/W 26 That You Need to Know

1. Military Precision

Style Notes: We've been predicting the return of the Napoleon jacket since mid-last year, but it seems it's next autumn when the runways will really explore this comeback. A jacket so tied to the "indie sleaze" era, and with the recent obsession with 2016, it's no surprise that Sinead Gorey and Keburia, two designers known for their ironic design codes and nostalgic aesthetics, would champion this. But, for this season, we saw so much more than just Napoleon jackets. From golden braided frog closures on a Conner Ives denim jacket, to Labrum's regal structured silhouettes and pins, there were sightings of military influences, even in the most subtle of ways.

2. Check Mate

Style Notes: Starting strong with Burberry, a brand known as much for its iconic Nova check as it is for its trench coat, there were a few subtle references to its famed plaid on show. However, creative director Daniel Lee didn't focus too heavily on this graphic. Whilst it came on the pictured grey trench, as well as a fur burgundy bomber jacket and scarf, it remained an elusive part of the collection. For Emilia Wickstead and Tolu Coker, however, checks were more prominent, featured across tailored two- or (three-) piece sets, and in vibrant palettes. Bora Aksu, a designer known for referencing styles of the past, looked to more traditional checks, like dogstooth, houndstooth and gingham.

3. Pinned Down

Style Notes: We reported on the prominence of brooches late last year, so it's safe to say this often overlooked accessory was well on our radar. However, for A/W 26, there was no question of this slipping through the net. Then, the styling of brooches felt fairly pared-back; this season, they're hard to miss. At Toga, one of the standout looks was a dress that had the bottom half adorned in different brooches with organic, almost molten, stones.

At Sinead Gorey, it wasn't brooches but pins, which perfectly suit the label's punk aesthetic. Pins were actually something we noticed a lot when observing street style (perhaps a progression of this trend, and one to look out for?). At Simone Rocha and Erdem, it was, as usual, all about hyper-femininity, created with jewelled pins as well as layered ribbons and rosettes (a house signature for Rocha).

4. Touchy-Feely

Style Notes: What is the autumn/winter season without texture, furs and general softness? It goes without saying that in London, the city where we can't help but talk about the weather, we expect to see some decent outerwear. Burberry, Joseph and Toga delivered this in abundance, with full-length faux-fur coats, shearling jackets and aviator bombers. But there were a few other, less anticipated hero pieces so irresistibly tactile, you can't help but want to touch them. From feathered tops and accessories at Mithridate to a faux-fur polo shirt at Fashion East's Goyagoma by designer Traiceline Pratt, as well as those furry flats at Erdem, A/W 26 is proving that being cosy needn't be boring.

5. The Rad Hatter

Style Notes: ICYMI, 2026 is all about the hat. From Kangol berets to bonnets and bucket hats, we're focused on headwear. But what about for A/W 26? According to Labrum and Argo, deer-stalker hats are on the menu. I also noticed several trapper styles, with Ouyang, Mithridate and Sinead Gorey presenting XXXL shearling-lined, shaggy and faux-fur versions, worn loose below the chin. No cold ears here!

6. Florals

Style Notes: We expect florals in spring, but in winter, it's less anticipated. Especially in London, where for the most part, the style is quite casual, grungy even. Designers like Patrick McDowell and Richard Quinn, known for their theatrical show-stopping gowns that celebrate "classic" femininity, delivered pretty floral motifs, presented on vintage silhouettes that still felt timeless. Quinn's mesmerising '80s-inspired cuts displayed florals not just as digitally-printed graphics, but with embellished beading, brooches and feathers.

Emilia Wickstead and Simone Rocha showcased a few of their own floral dresses that stayed true to their individual house codes: adorned with ribbons and rosettes for Rocha, and off-the-shoulder silhouettes for Wickstead. Cult designer Masha Papova, however, presented a floral-printed leather jacket with matching short-shorts and shoes, delivering a three-piece look we didn't see coming.

7. Victoriana

Style Notes: Victorian-inspired fashion was a major theme for S/S 26, either with gothic references to hair and corsetry at Dilara Findikoglu or with romantic references like lace and "Froth" at Simone Rocha and Bora Aksu. For A/W 26, Victorian influences feel less gothic and more whimsical. Aksu and Rocha delivered what they always do: highly detailed lace gowns, with layers and swathes of sheer fabric and frou-frou skirts. The tailoring also felt quite Victorian, with Erdem's rigid high collars under blazers, tweed three-piece suits with brogues at Bora Aksu, and even Conner Ives referencing Dandyism by way of the '80s, with cummerbunds and neckerchiefs.

8. Heavy Embellishments

Style Notes: There's no question that A/W 26 was one for maximalists. Even designers known for their pared-back approach, like Joseph, delivered looks with heavier luxe details like rhinestones and embellishments. A standout look from Joseph was a cream knitted midi skirt and jumper set, which was heavily adorned with long, almost spiked beads.

For Conner Ives, this was a black two-piece set adorned with large, coin-like circular sequins that appeared almost like scales in the light. Richard Quinn, as previously mentioned, presented multiple opulent gowns decorated with ornate embellishments. At Emilia Wickstead, a strapless gold sequin number will certainly be looked upon as a trophy piece come party season, displaying beaded fringing along the hem. Spectacular!

London Fashion Week has officially wrapped, and the fall/winter 2026 collections felt deeply, unapologetically British—but not in a costumey way. It was in that clever, self-aware way London does so well. The runways didn't shout for attention. They arched an eyebrow.

Designers leaned into national iconography and twisted it just enough to feel fresh. Royal purple swept through the collections, splashed across sweeping coats and slinky evening dresses like a slightly subversive nod to the crown. Elizabeth I–style high-neck collars rose dramatically around the face. They were regal, theatrical, and a little bit punk when styled with undone hair and scuffed boots. Monarchy meets mischief.

Elsewhere, texture told its own story. Shaggy and flea market–worthy jackets, dresses, and scarves reminiscent of the best finds at Portobello Market came layered over sharp tailoring. Heritage silhouettes like trench coats, work jackets, and polished knitwear were clashed and remixed rather than treated preciously. The mood felt less polished palace, more rainy afternoon in Notting Hill—eccentric, layered, and full of personality.

What made the season click was how naturally it all came together. London harkened to British culture in a way that felt affectionate but not overly reverent. History was referenced, roughed up, and sent back out into the cold with a great pair of leather boots.

Ruffled, Elizabethan-inspired collars rose dramatically this season, grazing the jawline and commanding attention. Designers doubled down with ornate chokers and layered necklaces worn over fabric, not tucked beneath it. The message was clear: Frame the face, and own the room. It felt regal, a little theatrical, and surprisingly easy to translate into everyday dressing.

Streamlined skirts stepped aside for full-bodied volume. Dubbed "the full sweep," these silhouettes swirled around the legs in generous proportions—midi to floor-length, often structured but never stiff. Paired with simple knits and in the body of structured eveningwear, fuller skirts brought drama without feeling overly precious. Walking never looked so good.

If there was one color that defined the week, it was royal purple. From deep aubergine to vivid violet, the shade cut through the gray of London's typical gloomy skies with rich confidence. It showed up from head to toe in outerwear and eveningwear alike, lending even the simplest shapes a sense of ceremony.

Where plunging necklines once dominated, higher halter silhouettes took over. Cut close to the neck and clean through the shoulders, they created a long, elegant line that felt modern and composed. It's a quieter kind of allure that's less about reveal and more about restraint.

Texture had a moment, and clearly, the shaggier the better. Shearling, frayed feather accents, and faux fur gave looks a thrifted, slightly chaotic charm. The effect felt distinctly London—like a brilliant vintage find thrown over something tailored and worn with total nonchalance.

In his fourth year at Burberry (a period often considered the "sweet spot" for cementing a creative vision), Creative Director Daniel Lee unveiled his highly anticipated winter 2026 collection. As the final show of London Fashion Week, he closed it out on a very high note—hit after hit, as some might say.

The show unfolded at Old Billingsgate, a landmark on the north bank of the River Thames. The set mirrored London's architecture and street life, creating an alluring atmosphere after dark. A replica of Tower Bridge rose against scaffolding wrapped in the iconic Burberry check, while resin "puddles" mimicked wet, rainy pavements. Deep blue lighting and black velvet seating created an elegant evening atmosphere. This energy carried through to the 56-look collection, which captured not just the act of going out but the feeling of it—the pulse of the streets and the individuality of those who move through them. "Everyone's going somewhere," Lee said of the season's characters in the press release. "Everyone's going out."

For ladies who lunch and get shit done. Emilia Wickstead has long perfected the art of refined, chic wardrobing; for A/W '26, her woman also has places to be. Prim and polished looks came with a twist: knee length kilts were reworked with thigh-high slits; a traditional tweed shift dress was styled over an undone denim shirt. All looks were styled with knee length socks and heavy-duty brogues. Sportcore is back. (Or did it ever go away?). Simone Rocha used her A/W '26 runway show to hard launch her forthcoming collaboration with Adidas—think cropped bomber jackets, embellished sneakerinas, high-waist pants and more. The front row girlies including Alexa Chung and Paloma Elsesser got to roadtest the collection; the former wore a jacket over a lace slip dress, while the latter teamed her bomber with a black pencil skirt. Elsewhere, Rocha proved that romance isn't dead with her signature brand of subverted femininity: think glorious ribbons, bows, drop-waist gowns and rosettes styled with masculine accents, from embroidered brogues to a thick overcoat.

When a show boasts a guest list that includes the likes of Kim Cattrall and Lila Moss, you know it’s going to be in excess of glamour. But opulence and elegance didn’t just ooze from Conner Ives’ A/W '26 collection, it permeated everything from the grand Claridge’s room the panoply was presented in to moving, to the string-heavy soundtrack that opened with a sample of Sadé. Emulating American traditions of grand balls, the range riffed on motifs of black tie dressing, from velvet crushed gowns that Truman Capote’s swans would’ve scrimmaged over to wear to lunch first, to tuxedo cummerbunds and scarves. Everything was dialled up; floor-length butter yellow coats embroidered with chinoiserie elements, satin shirts worn in reverse to create the illusion of a mock neck, and Hermés-esque scarves wrapped around the waist as a belt. The most breathtaking moment came in the form of the final closing all-white look. Was she a bride or a debutant? At this point in the year, some people start to think about their New Year’s resolutions. But us? We’re thinking about the 2026 trends we can begin investing in now, before everyone else. We’d even go as far as to argue that shopping in this way is a resolution in itself.

Shopping now for the person you want to dress like next year is forward-thinking. It’s a way to get ahead of the “I hate everything I own” complaints we all fall victim to once a major seasonal shift hits. It’s also the ideal time to think about which runway trends from this past fashion month actually resonated with your personal style—and how it makes sense to integrate them into your daily wardrobe.

The shoe trends of 2026 are also shaping up to be fairly fun. It appears that the flip-flop craze of 2025 has led to a more toe-forward approach to all of the shoes everyone will be wearing, and pumps are also making a comeback after getting shafted for more comfortable sneakers following the pandemic.

Below, see four of the big shoe trends that are getting us excited for next year.

Elegant Pumps

It’s been a while since heels were hot. During the pandemic, most of us lived in flat shoes and cozy sneakers. With nowhere to go, there wasn’t a reason to wear pumps at all. Since then, it’s felt like heels, in general, have left the zeitgeist almost entirely. That kind of thinking is likely what led to the rise of flip-flops as fashion shoes. But now, the OG fashion girl staple is back, and elegant pumps are about to be very in again. This time around, though, they’re more comfortable, with reasonable heel heights and easier-to-wear silhouettes. And best of all, they weren’t really designed with a 9-to-5 office lifestyle in mind, making them far more fun to wear every day.

Peep-Toes

The rise of flip-flops means most of us are already accustomed to seeing toes everywhere. Apparently, it hasn’t been enough. On nearly every runway this past fashion month, even the most buttoned-up heels and serious stilettos featured small peepholes for toes to peek through. It’s a freaky little trend that reminds us fashion doesn’t have to be so weighty—it can also be quirky and fun. Just be prepared to budget for more pedicures than usual.

Freaky Flip-Flops

And given their discussed impact on other shoe trends, flip-flops also aren’t going anywhere. If anything, they’re only getting weirder. At Copenhagen and Paris Fashion Week, models wore flip-flops that challenged the very notion of what the shoe could be. Some were heeled. Some were shiny. Some had PVC straps. Some had all of the above. So if you didn’t go all in on the flip-flop trend last year, you still have time.

Embellished or Extra in Every Way

As we veer farther into maximalism after years of minimalism and quiet luxury, shoes are expected to become even more of a statement. Instead of relying on your loafers or sneakers next year, consider embellished or embroidered slingbacks. Backstage at Tory Burch, the designer couldn’t stop talking about finally perfecting an embellished heel covered in beading and embroidery. She’d been wanting to do it for seasons, but the timing felt right this time around—and clearly, she was onto something. Expect to see far more shoes with plenty of bling.

Fashion month is a whirlwind, but it's a creative, inspiring, and era-defining whirlwind. The four weeks of fashion-and-beauty madness began with New York Fashion Week, followed directly by London, Milan, and Paris (in that order). Who What Wear's intrepid team of editors covered hundreds of shows, delved into new and old designer collections, and boldly stationed ourselves amid backstage chaos. At the end of it, we were exhausted, but more importantly, we knew all the major trends that are heading our way come 2026.

This year, it seems we'll see a mix of old and new trends collide. There are wearable looks, like windswept hair and winged eyeliner, that are making their way back to peak relevancy. Then, there are the new, bold, and editorial looks that demand attention. Think statement-making lipstick (I mean that quite literally) and next-level, doll-like lashes. Ahead, see the seven most major beauty trends from spring/summer 2026 fashion month.

The first trend is all about rebuking the minimalist, "clean-girl" makeup look that's been almost omnipresent on social media over the last couple of years, and swapping it with bold, look-at-me lashes. Backstage at Ulla Johnson's NYFW show, models wore gold-dipped lashes (created by combining gold eye shadow with a mixing medium). At Mossi's PFW presentation, models were spotted with impossibly long, doll-like ones (a validation that we're smack-dab in the middle of baby-doll fall). Similarly, at Harris Reed's LFW presentation, models wore feathery, avant-garde falsies that reached well past their brows. Meanwhile, at Collina Strada, clusters of bright-pink lashes were placed on the outer corners of the models' eyes.

While colorful mascara is an easy way to re-create this trend, you can also opt for colorful and/or bejeweled falsies—anything that demands attention and makes your eyes the focal point of your look. Do as the designers did, and embrace this rather whimsical, otherworldly element in your makeup routine.

Watercolor eye shadow was a major trend during NYFW, and it continued on to be a major trend throughout the rest of fashion month, too. First, there was Collina Strada, where models wore a wash of unrestrained pink eye shadow all over their eyelids, outer corners, and under-eyes. Then, there was Ashish, with a messy and striking brushstroke of cobalt blue. At LDW, Toga's models wore a wash of canary-yellow eye shadow, and at PFW, Gabriela Hearst's models wore a subtle powder-blue shadow just on the inner corners of their eyes. It's a blink-and-you-might-miss-it makeup element that feels right in line with French-girl fashion.

In 2026, fashion people aren't putting up with basic lip combos. They're branching out and testing bold new looks. Chloé's S/S 26 show featured models wearing bright, powdery-pink lipstick. At Sportmax, models wore bitten-berry lipstick. At Roksanda, models wore a black-to-red lip color that was topped with a vinyl-like finish for good measure. Simone Rocha took the trend to another level by sending models down the runway with sayings and phrases painted on their lips. Talk about a statement-making lip (literally). Take this as your sign to dust off the bolder lip colors in your collection, whether that's a vampy berry shade, crimson red, or punchy pink. And don't be afraid to doctor it up, either. Try blotting it out for a blurred effect, layering a high-shine gloss over top, or blending two shades for an ombré effect.

We've seen all sorts of skin-focused trends over the last couple of years. There was "glazed donut" skin, spearheaded by Hailey Bieber and her trusty Rhode skincare line. There was "glass skin," which made its way Stateside from South Korea. There's also been "dewy dumpling" skin, created by celebrity makeup artist Nam Vo. According to S/S 26 runways, the internet's obsession with glowing skin won't slow down in 2026. Instead, it will ever so slightly evolve.

It seems we'll see a more restrained take on super-dewy, highly reflective skin finishes. Instead of an allover glow, makeup artists send models down the runway with softly radiant skin. Some complexions were velvety matte. Others had a precise, shimmer-free highlighter placed on the cheekbones, nose, brow bone, and Cupid's bow. Regardless, it's all about creating a healthy-looking, lit-from-within radiance.

For this look, skin prep is everything. The softer, smoother, and more hydrated the skin is before makeup, the better. (Yes, that means glow-boosting masks, essences, and primers.) As makeup looks become louder and bolder, hairstyles seem to be going the opposite direction. Throughout fashion month, designers debuted their new collections with models who wore natural-looking, windswept hair; the list includes Valentino, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Erdem, Dior, and more. It seemed as if hairstylists embraced or at the very most highlighted the models' natural texture, and it gave them the effect of walking down a city street on a breezy day. Think slightly ruffled, tousled hair that could have just been revealed from under a scarf or a hat. We love when high-fashion embraces a wearable, effortless trend, and this is it. So put down your heat tools because 2026 is going to be big on natural-looking, lived-in hair.

Here's another beauty trend that kicked off in a big way during NYFW: nail embellishments. At Grace Ling, models wore a single chunky gem on each long, claw-tipped nail. At Kim Shui, models wore what we can only describe as bold, silver nail brooches. At Di Petsa, models wore minimalist mermaid-esque opals atop their silvery manicures. Last but certainly not least, at Christian Cowan, models wore silver-studded, translucent nails. It seems that, in 2026, the best manicures will be unique, creative, and feature 3D elements. Prepare by picking up a set of studded press-ons or a pack of individual nail gems.

If winged liner feels rather… 2016 to you, you're not alone. Blame it on the "clean girl" trend that's dominated social media over the last couple of years, but eye makeup has been on the decline (until now). People have abandoned their eyeliners, eye shadows, and even mascaras. (The no-mascara trend was major this year.)

According to a set of high-fashion houses, though, that's changing for 2026. At Sandy Liang, models wore a subtle brown flick. At Attico, models wore a smoky version of the same look. Meanwhile, some models walked the Fendi runway wearing a bold black wing with red lipstick (an utterly classic look). Dolce & Gabbana also embraced a classic black wing. So, yeah, it's official: Whether it's black or brown, smoky or sharply cut, winged eyeliner is back, baby.

As we approach the end of September, we come to the end of another epic London Fashion Week. With a slew of new designers on the schedule, a new CEO at the British Fashion Council (none other than Laura Weir), we all knew that the spring/summer 2025 showcase would be exciting, and it really was. The Who What Wear UK team were out in full force, delivering and capturing the best street style looks, which we couldn’t have done without Volvo, who ferried us across London for every show, presentation and appointment.

In the last few years, it’s been no secret that London’s reputation as a fashion capital has struggled, with several big British designers and houses like Alexander McQueen and Victoria Beckham choosing to show in other cities. But London has always powered on and held its notoriety as the city of disruption, rebellion and leaders of those cooler, cult designers and talent. As such, the trends it spawns year after year are ones to watch. Big names like Simone Rocha, Roksanda, Erdem, Dilara Findikoglu and Richard Quinn delivered romance, fantasy and the celebration of womanhood in different ways. Rocha, always a show everyone looks forward to, delivered her signature Victorian-inspired dresses and tailoring, with exaggerated silhouettes on the waistlines, in floral chiffon and satin, as well as some unexpected fabrics such a PVC plastic and sequin. Erdem also took some surprise turns. Alongside its series of heavily embroidered garments, from mini dresses to trench coats (pieces which we have come to expect from the designer), we were also served looks in a citric and fuchsia pink colour palette, to which gasps were heard from front row.

But it wasn’t all babydoll dresses, crinoline skirts and a sugary pink palette (although, we did have this in abundance!), designers like Chopova Lowena, Dilara Findikoglu and Ashley Williams, who have become cult favourites on the London Fashion Week schedule, felt comparatively punk. Chopova Lowena and Williams, as usual, took inspiration from early 2000s—with an effervescence, energy and a soundtrack that would shake off any fashion week party hangover. Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu delivers the show that has become the one to watch. So much so that even tickets to fashion cultural commentator Lyas’s ‘watch party’ event in a pub nearby sold out in minutes. A lineup of models like Naomi Campbell, Amelia Grey, Tish Weinstock and Harley Weir delivered gothic glamour—think lace, latex, corsetry, chainmail and even a horsebit buckle headpiece.

Of course, we can’t talk about London and not mention Burberry. After that now-iconic campaign inspired by Glastonbury and British festival culture, one that saw Goldie, Liam Gallagher and Alexa Chung in parkas and plaid wellington boots frolicking around in fields, we knew to expect something with a festival theme for next spring. Creative director Daniel Lee delivered parka jackets, fringe and crochet mini party dresses, along with a few playful nods to Burberry’s heritage (you guessed it: the trench coat, but this time in plaid).

And this is just my top-line notes! In case you’re wondering which special moments were unmissable, and those trends we predict will take centre stage next year, look no further. I’ve compiled a list of the 6 trends to look out for in spring/summer 2025.

1. WHAT THE PUFF?

Style Notes: We first noticed puffball mini skirts on the first morning of LFW at Mithridate. Whilst everyone else was discussing creative director Daniel Fletcher’s harnessing of true preppy style (which our resident SEO writer Ava Gilchrist said reminded her of TV show Rivals), our group chat was consumed with clips of the pink polka dot puffball mini skirt. We quickly noted there were similar gathered circular structures at Harris Reed the evening before, and questioned whether this could be somewhat of a regular theme throughout the weekend. Let’s just say, we called it. This shape strutted out at Keburia, with short, voluminous, almost ra-ra skirt-esque styles in layered tulle. Keburia also, just like Erdem, Simone Rocha, Yuhan Wang later in the schedule debuted at least one, if not more, crinoline skirts. This 19th-century inspired boning offers a more structured form, and was seen layered with light, delicate fabrics such as lace, sheer floral chiffon or satin. The message is clear—when it comes to the hips, the bigger the better next spring.

2. FRINGE FANCY

Style Notes: There’s no better way to say it: if there was one detail mentioned most, it was fringe, fring, fringe! Where the last year has mostly shown fringe in a more classic iteration—across the back of tan suede jackets that allude to the Western trend and comeback of 00’s boho-chic, for example, this season it’s in much less expected ways. Roksanda showcased thick fringing on multiple looks, hanging almost at random from blazers as well as lining the bottom hemline of dresses as well. Fringe belts also had a moment at Conner Ives in neon shades, at Di Petsa in an almost string-like style and Dilara Findalkoglu with a suitably studded and chainmail iteration. Nanushka also had a fringe moment with teared and torn fabric tassels tied together on its striped Bermuda shorts and polo shirt dress, as well with a long beaded detail on a belt. Other fringe moments occurred at Burberry (of course, playing on that festival theme), with ‘70s inspiration, on a Hobo handbag and skinny ties, as well as suede jacket in the most brilliantly-blue turquoise. But our favourite fringe moment? It has to go to Ahluwalia, who delved into unexpected fringe details by outlining the lapels of a blazer and offering a burgundy dress made entirely of panelled and draped fringing. Exceptional!

3. METAL DETECTION

Style Notes: When Burberry sat a knight on front row last season, we thought this medieval cosplay was a fleeting thing, but apparently not. I’ve noticed chainmail bubbling up as a microtrend in recent seasons, but it was more visible this year on the catwalks. Conner Ives’ theme and notable slogan “Protect the Dolls” became a direct allegory for his final look—a long chainmail big with an attached hood. Chopova Lowena’s punky Y2K aesthetic had a few chainmail moments, my favoruite of which was a black velvet dress with puffed sleeves and a large metal panel in the centre. Yuhan Wang sent a steel armour breastplate down the runway, as well as sword, and both Di Petsa and Dilara Findalkoglu, as mentioned, showcased metal belts, chains, coins, buckles and bell details.

4. UNEXPECTED ACCESSORIES

Style Notes: If there’s one thing I know to be true, it’s that London never fails to be unpredictable. Each season promises to have a few surprises that are likely to make a viral moment or two, and this season this came by way of accessories. From long sequin gloves and (very chic) frilled pillows courtesy of Simone Rocha, to swords and cuddly toy swans at Yuhan Wang, the message was to expect the unexpected, and make it fun along the way. Ashley Williams went even further, with toilet roll worn as bracelets and pink plastic crowns, she, as ever, managed to bring out the silliness in our inner child. Another mention needs to be made her of Dilara Findikoglu’s accessories game, who presented a cherry-filled clutch handbag. Susan Fang and Marques Almeida alluded to mother nature, but in different ways, with fungus-inspired sunglasses at Fang, and a model carrying a baby at Almeida. Cute!

5. CITRIC SHADES

Style Notes: There were two colours that dominated the catwalks this season: pink, in its varying tones, from powdery pastel shades at Marques Almeida and Simone Rocha, to bright fuchsia styles at Conner Ives, Erdem and Ashish. But pink in spring seems somewhat obvious, and the perhaps more interesting colour trend we found bubbling up, was a very specific shade of lime green. Not a neon, not quite as punchy as slime, or putrid as more mossy tone, but definitely on the citric scale, designers like Erdem, Simone Rocha, Burberry and Jawara Alleyene all showcased Chartreuse shades.

6. SPORT STARS

Style Notes: Whilst it's never a surprise to see sportswear influences on the catwalk, this season felt like there was a fresher take on athleisure to those trends I've seen dominate in the decade. Last season may have given us rugby shirts, with some spill over into this year too (Conner Ives had a fantastic one in a neon green-tinged yellow), but this season I say it's all about the polo shirt. Torn up fringe polo shirts at Alleyne, quartered and charm-adorned at Fashion East, polo shirts as mini dresses at Toga, or maxi dresses at Nanushka, and quite often with horizontal or vertical stripes, too. Funnel necks are going nowhere, courtesy of Johanna Parv, and panelled leggings, sheer sports jackets came again from Fashion East.

London Fashion Week dispatch continues, and we're overjoyed by the runway shows and stylish events we get to witness. Slightly Undone Imperfection

Perfection has been out for a couple of seasons now as people became obsessed with more authenticity in the way they dressed. It's the reason "personal style" has become the buzzword that just doesn't seem to go away. As everyone tried to distill the essence of who they are into their particular aesthetic, though, tutorials on TikTok popped up with a step-by-step way of finding it. And in turn, it led to a lot of people looking too polished and too clean. It was all a bit copy-and-paste, which was the completely wrong objective.

At London Fashion Week, a solution appeared, and it is to look a little bit more undone. At Simone Rocha, dresses appeared torn at the top, exposing a bra-like bandeau underneath. After years of obsessing over hiding your bra strap, Rocha seemed to be asking, "Who cares?!" At Erdem, models had corset tops with messy ties sitting mostly undone, trailing at the hip and sometimes on the floor. That was the same case at Dilara Findikoglu, where random strands of fabric flowed every which way with no apparent order. A little messy chaos is very much going to be trending next season, and honestly, thank god! Because what has more personality than wearing clothing in a way that proves you really have a life to live, and sometimes that means a button gets left undone, a bra strap gets left exposed, or a corset strap gets left untied.

Brat Green Lives Another Day

This summer was so not like Brat summer that it actually hurt a little bit to accept. But Brat green, the unofficial official color of Charli XCX's 365 party-girl lifestyle, lives on! After being everywhere in the clubs and at her concerts, the color has spilled onto the runway. The greens at London Fashion Week were notably punchier and at times very neon, instantly calling to mind the now-iconic album cover.

At Chopova Lowena, there was no shortage of any color, but there did appear to be more vibrant and punchier greens than in previous collections. The same can be said of Conner Ives, which certainly had the most biblically accurate representation of Brat green. Even some of Richard Quinn's elegant dresses had a bit of a cheeky green tint that made them feel a little more club-ready than most gala-appropriate gowns.

Coquette Comeback

With rosettes, Peter Pan collars, and ribbons, coquette has been the most popular aesthetic fashion people can't seem to quit. And it appears they have no reason to with a major coquette comeback evidently happening on the runways in London. At Simone Rocha, large rosette flowers in cartoonish proportions sat at the hip of pastel dresses. Marques Almeida had its own take on a similar look, with a more abstract pressed-floral embellishment appearing on little black dresses worn with punk tall black boots. At Richard Quinn, large rosettes adorned the collars of gowns with ribbons sitting at different tulle tiers.

Coquette is the kind of trend that has mass appeal because it feels so linked to the nostalgia of childhood. Which one of us doesn't remember playing dress-up with dolls and hoping that one day our wardrobe too would consist of dresses, skirts, and tops covered in flowers and bows? And while the look feels distinctly cutesy, it can easily (and is often) worn with more punk, grungy pieces to create a look that feels at odds with itself in a way that also makes sense. There's also been a lot of talk about a 2010s twee resurgence happening, so coquette is certainly not going anywhere.

Funky Freaky Belting

Belts are no longer just belts. No one stylish is really wearing them to hold their pants up. Instead they're wearing multiple belts at once to create an interesting and unexpected layering moment. This felt particularly evident in London, where it was impossible to spot a belt that didn't feel a little funky or totally freaky.

At Nanushka, belts were supersized to look more like leather cummerbunds with strings of embellished beaded strands swaying from the bottom. At Erdem, models wore two belts knotted at the side on top of floral dresses. At Chopova Lowena, where belts are a key part of the brand's signature kilt skirts, belts had buckles so large they could double as decorative armor. They all served as a reminder that accessories can be practical, but sometimes they're more fun when they're not.

Ever since Daniel Lee took the helm at Burberry, all eyes have been on the brand. Understandably, it can take designers a few seasons to find their footing when taking over as creative director at a new brand, especially one with as a rich heritage as Burberry. Lee's spring/summer 2026 collection that just made its debut at London Fashion Week proves that he's found the formula for balancing the trademarks of the brand with his own modern sensibility since joining the fashion house in 2022.

If I had to give a name to the theme of the collection, I'd call it Glastonbury goes Burberry. The '70s rock-star influence was apparent, but the looks had a polished, clean edge that was chic and wearable. As expected given the brand's pedigree, it was a celebrity-heavy front row, and many were decked out in checks and reimagined trenches. Lining the runway were Alexa Chung, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Lila Moss, to name a few.

Reimagined Checks

It wouldn't be a Burberry runway without the fashion house's signature checks, but instead of the traditional tartan it's known for, Lee opted for checks in an array of colors and forms. There were boldly colored trenches with a patent-leather sheen, sequined and fringed minidresses, cropped trousers, and shoes made of bands of leather to form check designs. Given the popularity of plaid this season, it was exciting to see all the ways the trend could evolve.

Glastonbury-Friendly Boots

The Glastonbury Festival is one of the UK's most cherished events, and much of Burberry's S/S 26 collection was synonymous with the signature look that the fashionable attendees routinely embrace. Given the muddy grounds, boots are practically a requirement at Glastonbury, and many of the models wore rugged mid-calf pairs that would be perfect for the occasion.

Crochet Dresses

It was impossible to ignore the dress trend that Burberry is embracing for spring—crochet minidresses—as multiple models wore it. Many of the dresses, which came in an array of colors, were embellished with metallic discs, sequins, and gold chains at the neck, and these details elevated the casual trend. If your goal is dressing like a cool British woman, just add the aforementioned Glastonbury boots and perhaps the next trend I'm highlighting.

Long, Skinny Scarves

While 2025 has been all about silk scarves tied around the waist and hair, according to Lee, 2026 will be all about wearing a '70s-inspired skinny scarf around your neck. He styled them with multiple looks on the runway, including suits, trench coats, crop tops and trousers, and those cool-girl crochet dresses.

Fringe

In keeping with the '70s theme that ran through the collection, fringe was prevalent, especially in the form of suede handbags, leather trenches, and even sequined dresses at the conclusion of the show. It's also worth noting that many of the skinny scarves the models wore featured about a foot of fringe at the ends, which swayed and shimmied with each step on the runway.

As much as I love dissecting runway looks straight off the catwalk, for me, nothing quite compares to the joys of street style. Truthfully, I find that the pavements outside the shows often deliver as much inspiration as the collections themselves. With well-honed eyes styling emerging trends, I find that Fashion Week street style offers the perfect barometer for what’s actually resonating with people right now.

Yesterday marked the end of London Fashion Week. While the runways showcased collections from designers like Chopova Lowena, H&M, and Burberry, our focus has been on the streets of London, observing the trends that are set to define the season.

With fall officially here, it's no surprise to see women's loafers everywhere, once again proving themselves as the ultimate fall shoes. From expensive-looking suede loafers to patent-leather styles, chic Londoners displayed their unique tastes. But one common element tied these looks together: socks. While the rest of the UK is turning its attention to what to wear for the autumn season, the fashion world has all eyes on spring/summer 2026, with London Fashion Week taking centre stage. And although most of the talk since fashion month started has been about what's on the S/S 2026 catwalks (which we'll be sharing our thoughts on soon), I just couldn't help but notice all of the stylish looks that were spotted on attendees, and this, of course, includes the outfits my fellow editors wore.

Staying in the centre of the city at the beautiful One Hundred Shoreditch hotel, the Who What Wear UK editors made their way around London in outfits to suit the unpredictable UK weather as well as help them comfortably navigate countless shows, presentations, and events they attended. Whether heading to venues in the east of the city to discover niche up-and-coming designers, walking the streets of the west for the ultra-luxury brands, or dodging the rain in style (we were very lucky to once again be chauffeured by Volvo), our editors picked outfits that were chic and practical in equal measure.

As London Fashion Week draws to a close, the final day arrives with a packed agenda. But first, a quick rewind: yesterday, Simone Rocha brought us romance and full froth, Erdem carved out sculptural silhouettes, Marques’Almeida dialled up volume with the most sumptuous fabrications, while KENT&CURWEN and TOVE aligned with refined mock-necks favoured over plunging necklines.

Saturday delivered elegant lace at Yuhan Wang, jellyfish-like fringing at Roksanda, as well as clouds of tulle at Richard Quinn and buccaneer boots at Toga. On Friday, puff-ball silhouettes appeared at Mithridate and Keburia, Di Petsa channelled Grecian drapery, and Bora Aksu confirmed the bonnet trend isn’t going anywhere.

Ebay’s Endless Runway put archival fashion at the heart of the conversation, cementing London’s position as a frontrunner in sustainable style. Pieces from Simone Rocha, Prada and more were available to shop straight from the catwalk, alongside cult favourites including Christopher Kane's and Vivienne Westwood's graphic tees.

For the brand’s tenth season, Harris Reed unveiled The Aviary on Day One of London Fashion Week—a collection that drew on the gothic architecture of its Saint Pancras setting. True to the label’s DNA, sculptural silhouettes and exaggerated takes on the human form took were woven throughout the collection. Deconstructed and dramatised designs were were imbued with a sense of regality for maximum drama.

Staged in three acts, H&M’s part-runway, part-concert spectacle brought the buzz to London Fashion Week. A starry cast of 70 models—including Romeo Beckham, Sora Choi, Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser, Amelia Gray, Iris Law and Lila Moss—showcased the high street giant’s autumn/winter 2025 collection, which tapped into some of the season’s biggest trends: slouchy buccaneer boots, high-shine leathers and razor-sharp tailoring. The finale came courtesy of London singer Lola Young, whose performance sealed the show as one of the most talked-about moments of day one.

Day Two has seen MITHRIDATE bring a dose of optimism to the runway this morning, with pastel pinks and seafoam greens tempered by deeper shades of burgundy and brown. Summer scarves and unreserved sparkle subverted summer’s typical silhouettes—an idea our editors are eager to see translated off the catwalk and into real life, while a thread of preppiness unified the collection. Under the direction of newly appointed creative director Daniel Fletcher, the label is fast emerging as one of London’s buzziest names.

Trend alert! Puff ball skirts are firmly back on the agenda for SS26. Spotted at Mithridate and Keburia—not to mention in Harris Reed’s more sculptural take on the silhouette—this voluminous, ultra-feminine shape looks set for a major return next season.

It was twee tights and bonnets galore at Bora Aksu’s runway show this afternoon. Doubling down on the lace trend, the collection channelled a childlike sense of wonder that felt like pure escapism in the sun-drenched setting.

At Di Petsa this afternoon, Who What Wear’s SEO Writer Ava Gilchrist observed a compelling tension between Grecian mythology and Y2K nostalgia. Some models embodied mythic water-bearers, carrying ceramic jugs, while others leaned into a bratty, post-night-out energy, heels dangling from their hands and sunglasses tucked into the necklines of scoop-front minis.

On Friday evening, Chopova Lowena emerged as a clear favourite among our editors, who were captivated by the brand’s deft balancing act between folkloric styling and modern sportswear, all underpinned by a streak of defiant punk energy.

Rounding off day two, our editors stepped into Rixo’s presentation—for the brand’s return to the Fashion Week calendar, timed to coincide with its 10-year anniversary. The collection carried the unmistakable hallmarks of Rixo’s DNA, imbued with a vintage charm, the print-adorned dresses captured the brand’s femininity and whimsy that we've always loved Rixo for.

Completedworks’ presentation was characteristically theatrical, led by a live performance from Jerry Hall that brought to life far more than the brand’s celebrated jewellery. The showcase extended into glassware, ceramics, sculptural mugs, and handbags, all arranged with CVS-inspired rhythm. Adding to the charm, journalist Raven Smith appeared in character as Hall’s “assistant,” delivering a playful take on a Fashion Week presentation.

Soundtracked to David Lynch-worthy audio, Yuhan Wang’s SS26 runway show was populated by typical frothy lace and layers and punctuated with obscurities such as dice charms on necklaces and cuddly toy swans draped in pink ribbons as accessories.

Toga’s SS26 collection tapped into several key trends already poised to ripple across next season. Double belts, glossy leathers, pirate boots and vinyl shoes all made their way onto the runway, but the unifying thread was the abundance of fabric. Trousers were pleated to create exaggerated volume, while elongated trains extended from the hips of both trousers and skirts, adding a dramatic swish to each step.

Heading into the afternoon, Ahluwalia’s SS26 collection echoed trends that have been rippling through the week—most notably the fringing motif first spotted yesterday at Mithridate. But rather than leaning into polished prep, the collection took a thoroughly modern direction, with minidresses, windbreakers, floor-length tassels and easy tailoring running through, enlivened by a puchy palette of shocking pinks and rich jewel tones.

On Saturday evening, Roksanda presented their Spring/Summer 2026 collection in the suitably grand Chancery Rosewood hotel, formerly the American Embassy. Taking inspiration from Barbara Hepworth’s fluid designs, the sculptural influence was felt throughout. Colour and texture imbued the collection with drama: painterly prints and lustrous silks were offset by stark black contrasts, employed with restraint and control, while burnt orange and mulberry hues added richness. Details such as a knot tie at the waist or an exaggerated collar underscored Roksanda’s eye for theatrics, while fringing appeared in both playful, abbreviated bursts on black dresses and in the ethereal finale gown, a jellyfish-like cascade of mulberry.

Naomi Campbell opened Richard Quinn’s London runway show on Saturday night, gliding down an orchestra-scored catwalk in a body-skimming velvet gown, punctuated by a single white flower at the chest. From there, Quinn leaned into his signature codes—florals, bows, tulle and sweeping volumes rendered in a palette that oscillated between butter yellows, dark navys and bright whites.

We're settling into day 4 of London Fashion, and already spotting a few emerging trends ripple out across multiple shows. At KENT&CURWEN and TOVE, designers steered away from plunging necklines, instead favouring mock-neck silhouettes crafted from thick cottons and subtly folded to create a finish that feels smart yet understated.

Joining the likes of Di Petsa, Yuhan Wang, Kenuria, Mithridate and Bora Aksu, Ashley Williams doubled down on the pastel-pink trend that has been steadily emerging across London Fashion Week’s SS26 shows. True to her playful spirit, Williams kept to a peppy palette, weaving in soft blues and buttery yellows. Sixties-inspired silhouettes were offset by sharply layered hair, lending a kitsch edge to a collection that felt characteristically humorous and bright.

Opening with soft chiffon drapery in delicious, muted tones Marques'Almeida’s collection felt as romantic as it was wearable. The house’s talent lies in making grand gestures—billowing volumes and sumptuous fabrics—feel grounded, achieved through its signature styling of wide-leg trousers, frayed hems and flat shoes. A refreshingly diverse cast brought the pieces to life, with women of varying ages and body shapes walking the runway. Set against sweeping views from the 59th floor of a new Bishopsgate high-rise, the show itself felt quite literally among the clouds.

One of London Fashion Week’s most anticipated names, Simone Rocha unveiled her SS26 collection on Sunday afternoon—immediately becoming a resounding favourite among our editors. Skirt hoops introduced controlled volume with a vintage nod, while oversized bows, pillow worn like clutches, and sparkles, lace and floral accents played into Rocha’s signature romanticism.

Erdem’s SS26 collection drew inspiration from Hélène Smith, the 19th-century Swiss medium who claimed to have lived many lives—as a member of the French court, an Indian princess and even a traveller of Martian skies. Her dreamlike visions, often dismissed in her time, provided the starting point for a show centred on reinvention and self-mythology. Deconstructed lace pieces, worn almost inside out, were sculpted into crinoline-style hip exaggerations, while satin bow flats anchored looks. Pops of punchy pink, lime green and emerald punctuated the collection with energy as the collection moved towards the finale. Elsewhere, striped suits with matching shirts offered a fresh spin on the three-piece, and flourishes of fringing, trains and florals linked Erdem’s vision to wider trends rippling through London Fashion Week.

"As Conner Ives, the 29-year-old American expat, told me backstage at this debut Spring/Summer show on the London Fashion Week calendar, this season wasn't just about protecting the dolls, but employing, elevating and dressing them too." Told Who What Wear's SEO Writer, Ava Gilchrist. "With 90% of the cast identifying as gender non-conforming, the show really was about self-expression. On the beauty front, the makeup look had a soft glam feel with a touch of vintage hedonism, including diffused, dreamy skin in an homage to Valley of the Dolls, chisled cheekbones in an homage to German super, Veruschka von Lehndorff, and neon lips. These complemented the '80s aerobics meets candy rave feel of the collection—a tone that was cemented from the moment fluorescent lights illuminated the stark white space of the Saatchi Yates gallery. As pop divas like Robyn and Nelly Furtado sang out over the runway, it really did feel like a celebration of the designer's world. Who doesn't want to dance with Conner's angels?"

Comprising frothy layers, pretty pastels and airy volume, Susan Fang's collection felt like a natural evolution of the brand's signature style. A collaboration with Nike saw the label's feminine dresses paired with chunky trainers, while 3D-printed bags sprouted all-over mushroom motifs. Beaded shirting, breezy beach-babe moments and a handful of ethereal bridal looks rounded out the whimsical show.

"The Barbican Centre's Ironmongers Hall should've been the first clue at what Turkish-born, British-based designer Dilara Findikoğlu had in store for us—babydoll dresses that look liked they had been crafted from stained doilies, sultry tailoring that appeared like something Heathcliff might've torn Catherine Earnshaw out of if Wuthering Heights was more erotica and less yearning, armour-inspired face coverings and chunky metal bangles that snaked up the models arm.  With a stellar cast that included Naomi Campbell and Amelia Grey, it really did feel like the brand lived up to the chatter that surrounds it, especially as almost 200 people were turned away after the brand couldn't accommodate the hordes of people who turned out in droves to see it first hand! (Even more watched on from a nearby pub at content creator Lyas' watch party.) Everything was equally deconstructed and ripped apart at the seams, leaving an apparition of something a little gothic, ghostly and ghastly at the same time. (Especially as one model wore a babydoll dress with latex opera gloves and a horsebit mouth gag!) Think: A sickly Victorian child gets lost on in the woods before coming back with their clothing a little mud-stained and dishevelled, almost like something untoward happened without being able to put your finger on what. And while little-lady-at-lunch 1960s elegance and corporate Severance style serves were seen at brands like Richard Quinn and Tolu Coker, there was also freaky fuzzy detailing at Simone Rocha and subversive sexy lacing at Dilara Findikoglu.

London Fashion Week has the kind of range that makes you realize all the best looks are layered, sometimes literally and sometimes not. They just have more going on than immediately meets the eye. They are the kind of looks that require a double take, with small intricacies that can feel intimidating if they weren't so unserious. Ahead, the six biggest fashion trends that'll make you understand why London Fashion Week is truly like no other.

1960s Little Lady

It's been all about the '90s and 2000s now for so long—maybe too long. Instead, there seems to be an interest in a slightly more buttoned-up 1960s sensibility. The goal is to look like you're a little lady who lunches in a pillbox hat and never leaves her flat without a brooch pinned securely onto the lapel of her cinched blazer top. It's whimsical and witty in a way Y2K isn't. And it's timeless elegance that'll never go out of style, even when it isn't trending.

Dripping With Fringe

Fringe is often associated with a horse girl aesthetic. It feels very Western but also simultaneously extremely Coachella. This new take on fringe feels far more sophisticated and not like something you would wear to ride a mechanical bull or attend a music festival. Instead, it's all about garments that feel like that are dripping in fringe. They don't scream yeehaw; they quietly blow in the wind as you parade down the street, following you like a swirl of mysterious movie-like smoke.

Fuzzy Feelings

Who needs a warm hug when you can just cover yourself entirely in furry-lined everything? Perhaps there is no better example than at Simone Rocha, where last season models carried fuzzy creature–shaped bags. This season Rocha took it one step further by transforming models into a different kind of creature with dresses covered entirely in fur. Furry and fuzzy accents were seen at nearly every runway, adorning bags, shoes, pants, and tops. At Dilara Findikoglu, it was even hard to distinguish where a model's hair ended and a hairy garment began. No amount of texture is too much.

All Tied Up

Usually when you're all tied up, it's not a good thing. But if you're all tied up in a corseted Dilara top or a Simone Rocha dress with red ribbon weaving all the way down your torso, that's a different story entirely. Lace-up details were seen at multiple shows in a way that transformed even the most basic of garments to something that felt sultry in a subversive S&M way.

Severance-Inspired Serves

This is how your innie dresses. The influence of the dystopian corporate show Severance seems to have trickled onto the runways, with a corporate look slowly taking over everywhere you look. But that doesn't mean the vibe has to be stuffy or buttoned-up. You can pair your favorite tie with bold prints like plaid or wear suit pants with buttoning details on the side. Think about what's office-appropriate, and then break the rules just enough.

Larger-Than-Life Skirts

Skirts are often seen as extremely dainty and feminine. But London Fashion Week had a different interpretation this season. The skirt was seen as something that could swallow you whole. They were larger than life, bubbling up around the hip or cascading to the ankles with layers of ruffles. This kind of silhouette practically begs you to make a statement while also making it extremely easy to.

As quickly as it came around, London Fashion Week has wrapped for another season, but over one wet weekend in the capital, we were treated to enough fashionable fare to make up for the grey skies and spells of rain outside.

From a bold and theatrical opening at Harris Reed set against the grand backdrop of the Tate Britain, to a star-studded close from Burberry in the very same venue, autumn/winter 2025 will be the season that champions what makes London fashion quite so unique, and there was something for everyone in the mix of established fashion houses, new favourites and up-and-coming talent that showed across a jam-packed four days.

Despite a few noticeable absences in the schedule this year, London Fashion Week continues to do what it does best: bringing out the most experimental fashion crowds in droves to celebrate the country's best and brightest. Despite the gale-force weather, team Who What Wear UK turned out in full force to attend the shows in the name of trend research and capturing the best street style (big thanks is due to Volvo cars for making sure we stayed on schedule and the Andaz London Liverpool Street for being the perfect central base in the city).

So what, I hear you ask, were the notable moments that got our full attention?

Now that we've debriefed in the back of the car, gathered our notes and talked about the viral-worthy moments we loved, we've refined the looks from dozens of shows, presentations and events into a handy edit of seven trends that you need to see. Of course, there will be more to come in the form of our autumn/winter 2025 trend report once the whole of fashion month comes to a close, but for now, let's focus on the LFW trends to know before anyone else. You won't be disappointed by good old Blighty.

1. A WHITE WEDDING

Style Notes: As it turns out, you don't have to have a ring on your finger to buy into LFW's most unexpected trend. Designers were inspired by the regality of the modern bride this season, with full white dresses, bouquets and veils showing up at Bora Aksu, Connor Ives, Di Petsa, Edeline Lee and of course, Richard Quinn, who transformed his runway into a breathtaking winter setting, perfect for the demure bride.

You might be puzzled by how on earth this trend translates to everyday wear, but these are not dresses designed with the 9-to-5 in mind. Instead, the LWD (that's long white dress) just might be strong enough to replace the LBD for all of your formal and evening plans. And take note, 2025 and 2026 brides—we've also spotted some microtrends in the mix that will make your big moment even more memorable. Off-the-shoulder and retro necklines, white tights, big bows and rosettes were used time and again to create drama and points of interest in monochrome looks. Sorry, suiting—but 2025 is undoubtedly the year we say yes to the dress.

2. FRINGE BENEFITS

Style Notes: Nothing brings a collection to life quite like movement—be it a sweeping skirt, floating chiffon and tulle or a billowing sleeve—but it's fringing that really makes the wearer the centre of attention. Chunky straps, delicately beaded strands and streams of strings stood out amongst the sharp tailoring and angular silhouettes at Toga, Roksanda and Simone Rocha, a direct move away from what was a relatively pared-back spring/summer show of cotton maxis and trenches.

The usual signposts of a "party season" collection may be sequins and glitter, but in 2025, expect fringing to be front and centre as an elevated take on embellishment that looks as luxurious as it feels. The trend automatically lends itself to being dressed up (naturally), but you could also take cues from Burberry to help ground such a whimsical style with chunky boots and leather accessories.

3. PREP SCHOOL

Style Notes: For lessons in A* dressing, look no further than Kent & Curwen and Mithridate's approach to "prep school with polish": a mix of rugby stripes, knee-high socks and uniform staples that look impossibly chic when styled up with court shoes and Mary Janes. And, if the recent resurgence of cardigans, ties and pleated skirts tells us anything, it's that the collegiate aesthetic is perfectly timed to land this autumn, bringing new ways to wear the look. Boat shoes, anyone?

With Daniel Fletcher now at the helm of Mithridate, his debut collection conjured up the feeling of Oxbridge socials, Wimbledon and boat races— a loving tribute to all things British and a reworking of the wardrobe classics we've come to rely on. Think trench coats, Oxford shirts, Harrington jackets and a knit tied around the shoulders. Emilia Wickstead agrees, as leather skirts and collared knits were shown on the runway with a boot-meets-loafer hybrid that we predict will be very popular when released.

4. A KNIGHT'S TALE

Style Notes: The most-discussed guest on the Burberry front row this season? A fully kitted-out knight. Yes, you read that correctly, a mystery man dressed head-to-toe in a suit of armour spotted casually taking selfies with Nicholas Hoult and Jodie Turner-Smith might sound like a fever dream, but after the week of shows we'd already seen, it actually made perfect sense. Armour, chainmail, corsetry and heavy embellishments were core elements in the collections of Dreaming Eli, Dilara Findikoglu, Annie's Ibiza and Denzil Patrick—one trend we couldn't have predicted would cause such a stir on the runways.

As with every season, there were showpieces designed to convey the designer's creative inspiration as well as traditional ready-to-wear, but in the case of this medieval mood, there are ways to nod to the look without committing to an uncomfortable commute. Silver, beading, cinched waists and lace-up bodices all refer to the trend without being too literal, but don't be surprised if you spot a 2020 Tom Ford-esque breastplate moment on the red carpet over the next year or so. Once the A-list cottons on, it'll be a very good year for archival Mugler and Rabanne, too. Maid Marian, eat your heart out.

5. THE GREEN MACHINE

Style Notes: After a long-standing love affair with burgundy, plum and purple-rich tones, it's time to move on to the next secondary colour in the palette—green—for a vibrant alternative that pairs surprisingly well with just about every other shade in the spectrum. This could be the natural evolution of the lurid "Brat" green that was everywhere last year, but it's been a while since green in any of its forms got some time in the limelight (sorry).

The 2025 collections showcased green in apple, forest, sage, emerald and zesty lime across a number of shows—a sure sign that the reign of last year's chocolate brown may be nearing its end. As arresting as Erdem, Chet Lo and Burberry's head-to-toe green looks were, for those wary of colour-blocking such a bold shade, Emilia Wickstead's use of brown and grey, SS Daley's mix of gold and cream and Roksanda's all-black looks with bright green accessories help to break up the strong shade into something more accessible for the more subdued dresser. How's that for versatility?

6. CUFFS, COLLARS AND SLEEVES

Style Notes: It's difficult to improve on the classic white shirt for very good reason. In its simplicity, a good white button-down makes a great outfit foundation, and no matter how you switch up the colours, prints and cuts, you'll often find yourself looking for the most pared-back shirt to fill the gap in a well-curated wardrobe.

It's good news then that this season, designers decided not to stray too far from what we know and love, and have given us the white shirt 2.0—it's the same wardrobe classic, but with the volume turned up. Supersized lapels! Starched collars! Voluminous sleeves! From Toga's undone bow ties and brooches to Bora Aksu's ruffled cuffs, looking smart is back on the agenda and is as simple as one hero buy.

7. 24/7 PARTY GIRL

Style Notes: Who could have predicted that for A/W 25, so many designers would find their inspiration for party season—not in the party itself, but in what happens afterwards. Whilst the Ashish runway was strung with scattered party poppers and balloons that spelled out "walk of shame", and the models at Sinead Gorey walked haphazardly down the runway carrying bags of KFC and sporting smudged makeup, over at Connor Ives, the hostess with the mostess wore a headpiece fashioned out of discarded beer bottle caps—the ultimate make-do accessory.

As a season that celebrates the joy of dressing up and going out, expect a high/low mix in 2025. Whilst there are longline fur coats, plunging necklines and feathers, you can also expect to see slogan tees, leggings, and battered Converse high tops. This party girl has stayed out all night and made the very most of it, so shelve the killer platforms in favour of something a little more comfortable this year. Grunge is back (in a grown-up way), and this time, it's in a minidress, sheer tights and accompanied by a banging soundtrack.

Daniel Lee is officially hitting his stride at Burberry. The designer has been leading the iconic British label into a new chapter since his arrival as creative director in 2022. Since then, he's remixed house classics and subverted motifs of British fashion in a way that has brought new energy—and buzz—to the storied house. His winter 2025 collection served as the finale for London Fashion Week, closing out the week's shows with a runway staged at the Tate Britain.

Quintessential British style was a strong theme throughout the collection as Lee referenced the idea of spending a weekend away in the countryside and envisioned the wardrobe that goes along with it. Away from the city, a pair of riding boots and jodhpur trousers aren't merely aesthetic choices. They're functional too, as equestrian pursuits and other outdoorsy excursions feature heavily on any itinerary for a country escape. In fact, the designer cited a deliberate tension between indoor and outdoor life as a source of inspiration, and it resulted in elements like the velvet brocade jackets that replicate flocked wallpaper.

Celebrities On and Off the Runway

Nobody brings out an impressive A-list crowd like Burberry does, and its latest runway show hardly wavered from its reputation. Season after season, it's reliably been the backdrop to the most exciting celebrity appearances of London Fashion Week, and this season delivered all the same, although the most talked-about sightings happened on the runway. Lila Moss walked in a floral A-line skirt set, and Naomi Campbell donned a fringed printed trench coat that blurred the line between outerwear and eveningwear. The front row was similarly stacked with familiar Brits and non-Brits alike, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Princess Maria-Olympia.

Thigh-High Boots Are So Back

Well, well, well, if it isn't the revival of thigh-high boots. Per the show's equestrian overtones, there were three standout looks featuring leather boots that crept well over the knee—a boot silhouette that's been absent from the trend cycle for long enough that it feels overdue for a return. Considering that Khaite also showed over-the-knee boots on the runway this season, we're already earmarking the style as hero shoes of fall 2025. At Burberry, they were styled with equestrian jodhpur leggings and cropped, high-neck jackets that felt like a delightfully approachable way to wear them.

The Key Buy? A Burberry Metal-Clasp Belt

Since shoppability (is that a word?) is always top of mind at Who What Wear, we instantly spotted the item that will be filling the carts of the fashion set as soon as fall hits. It was a belt but not just any belt. It was a sleek black leather one that was finished with a metal clasp and hooked around varying ensembles. Burberry styled it with an oxblood-hued fringe dress, atop a plaid coat with a matching scarf tucked delightfully into the belt, and over a billowing silk blouse, proving just how outfit making the piece can be and filling our fashion-editor minds with endless ways to wear it.

Here's Where Outerwear Is Heading

There's nothing more quintessentially British than a trench coat, and Lee's tenure at Burberry has been defined by his experimentation with the outerwear classic. In his debut collection, that looked like oversize shapes with faux fur–trimmed lapels, and for fall/winter 2025, trench coats arrived in hushed tones like camel and black cherry and finishes like embossed leather, patchwork shearling, and jacquard weave that feel undeniably elegant and mature. As Burberry is perennially a leader in the outerwear space, these coats are already hinting at the direction the trends are heading in next season, and we'd all be wise to take notes.

Luxe Velvet Finishes

Last but certainly not least were the deliciously luxurious velvet looks that punctuated the collection. In Lee's vision of the perfect autumnal wardrobe, velvet should be front and center. Long overlooked as a holiday-dressing trope, velvet has been quietly on a comeback tour, so the arrival of several looks is putting a lot of wind in the fabric's sails, so to speak.

London Fashion Week has just ended, but the best street style from the five days of shows will undoubtedly linger in our memories. London street style is known for being eclectic and experimental, no matter the season, but this time, many standout elegant looks emerged. There's been plenty of chatter about loud trends making a comeback for spring 2025, yet elegance remains very much in play.

As I mentioned, London fashion can be quite bold, but I also find a lot of classic trend inspiration whenever I study style in the city. As proof, I've highlighted ten standout trends spotted on the streets of London during fashion week that feel fresh this year while also fitting the elegant description for one reason or another. Some are color trends, some outerwear, some shoes, and so on—and all are completely wearable while signaling that the person sporting them is a true fashion insider. 1. Butter Yellow

Among a sea of neutral colors on the streets of London, there were a few color trends that stood out. One of them was pale yellow, which is always elegant on its own or combined with other hues.

I'm happy to report that the funnel-neck outerwear trend is carrying over into spring. It elevates an outfit in an instant and is a dead giveaway that the wearer is a fashion person.

While jeans and a denim shirt is the classic Canadian tuxedo, it being London, I actually spotted quite a few examples of denim midi skirts with matching shirts or jackets.

4. Leather Trench Coats

A trench coat is the quintessential Londoner wardrobe staple, and our very own Kristen Nichols played the part of a native well in her camel one. She wasn't alone—I spotted several leather trench coats on the streets, all of which looked far more luxe than a traditional trench.

Perhaps one of the freshest (and also most polarizing) trends on the streets of LFW was neckties. Given that the S/S 25 runways were littered with them, this trend doesn't come as I surprise, but it was exciting to see the unexpected ways in which showgoers styled them.

A smart two-piece makes dressing up a breeze.

Style Notes: No need to head to the zoo—London's streets were a stylish menagerie this week. A jungle's worth of animal print prowled from show to show, as leopard, snakeskin and cow print quietly ruled the city. Prey only to the relentless LFW calendar, London's adoption of the animal-print trend proves that the city will forever remain in touch with its wild side.

Style Notes: I can't recall another trend that has taken off with as much enthusiasm as the tie trend in London this week. A firm favourite among showgoers across the city, this playful yet polished accessory perfectly encapsulates the Londoners' penchant for boundary-breaking style.

Whilst a tie worn with a blazer will always look chic, a bomber pairing just feels impossibly cool.

Over the past few years, the London street style look has revolved around dresses, whether that was a Rejina Pyo puff-sleeved midi, a Rixo floral tea dress, or a Molly Goddard tulle creation. Looking through recent street style pictures, it is clear that Londoners have taken a breather from their dress collections. The MVP of the street style scene in London right now is skirts, from bubble-hem minis to sweeping checked maxis. The general consensus is the bolder the skirt, the better.

The skirt revival has been happening across all four fashion cities, but London Fashion Week designers have been leading the charge. Aaron Esh introduced a cheeky bubble-hem mini, Molly Goddard has playful midis adorned with ruffle hems, and Chopova Lowena's signature pleated Carabiner skirts have become one of the city's most coveted fashion exports. Front-row darling Miquita Oliver also had me setting up secondhand alerts for a Burberry checked miniskirt after she wore one to the show.

A dress is a ready-made outfit that requires little-to-no styling, which certainly makes mornings a little easier. It can, however, limit how much of your own stamp you can put on a look. This is perhaps why skirts are having such a moment in 2024, and in London, we saw eccentricity overtake minimalism. Bubble-hem minis and riding boots? Sure! Naked skirts and sport jerseys?
